It was a secret mission so it can't be proven it didn't happen. I heard he was presented his Purple Heart in the basement of the Pentagon.

    Yep.

Pointing out that something is "classified, I can't talk about it" sounds really cool I guess. Especially when the comment is unsolicited and just thrown out there.
  4. The difference is we used to have a handle on it to the point that we were able to serve our interests. I don't see it being that way anymore. That wouldn't be such an awful thing if it weren't for the radicalization that is occurring as the fundamentalists are taking advantage of the upheaval in the region. Kinda like how things went/are going in Pakistan. Real bad stuff so close to Israel and the up and coming terrorist organizations in East Africa. Point is we have more to lose here than a "sorta" ally in the region. What is happening now is setting the stage for a situation that we won't be able to stay out of, and I would really like to stay out of it. Diplomacy and cash is how we shape the environment to prevent these impossible situations, but we can apply neither with a radical government.
  5. Of all the homicides last year in Memphis I'd be curious how many we're random. I'm betting the majority of the murders were gang on gang with domestic related homicides taking up the rest. If the homicide number is related to a lifestyle then it would seem the law abiding folk are alright.
  6. I had a couple of transactions go that way via gunsamerica.com over a decade ago. Only bought a few guns here, 2 FTF and one shipped. No issues. This is the only place I come to now to find stuff. Anymore I just wait for something I'm in the market for pop up at a reasonable price from a trusted member.
  7. Who is this "Ron Paul" you speak of? Please tell me more...
  8. So the media doesn't care about Christian oppression and nobody cares about Africa. I agree on both accounts; what's it got to do with opening up a religious institution in Mboro?
  9. Well I haven't got anything back on lifting the carry in parks ban in Clarksville, which is something we CAN change.... got a councilman ready and willing to draft a resolution. All's us TGO'ers have to do is send an email to the councilman in their ward. No one seems to care so we'll keep living by laws we don't agree with and complaining about them on the Internet.
  10. Ha, part of that is my fault brother. My fat thumbs sometimes hit the wrong button by accident on these touch screens!
  11. That's why I put it in quotations; you can't see me emphatically gesture an air quote.
  12. Yep, and the problem is we can't stay out of it. As awful as genocide, war crimes and all that is, we shouldn't be in the business of helping people that aren't willing to help themselves. If the people of Somalia needed help so bad we should have showed up on their shores with a shipload of AKs and RPGs with folks to show them how to use them against Aidid and other oppressive warlords; not 20,000 Marines playing referee. When this thing gets out of hand and starts to really spill into Ethiopia what then? We all know "what", but it shouldn't be that way.
  13. I guess that must mean I'm "winning" because there is a lot of that going in this direction.
  14. Thanks for the review! I had seen vids online with a .22 upper, but wasn't sure if the gun was tuned for it. Looks like I'll be in the market for an upper when the gun fund is back up. I had a FA .22 with a suppressor on a deployment years ago and it was awesome... just hard to find food for it there. Always wanted something similar here.
  15. We could just keep firing incumbents until they get the message. That would require folks to admit that Dems/Reps are a sham, so that'll never happen.
  16. Yeah, I'm still waiting to see one of the members here do a review on a slide fire with a .22 upper. That is what is keeping me from picking it up. I'm not burning down all that 5.56, but .22 would a hoot.
  17. That's what I was thinking. There is some concern about opening doors for those JV terrorist groups to move on into the protected borders of Egypt to prevent targeting. These groups are pretty small potatoes, but it'll be a sign of things to come and things will absolutely get worse. I look at my kid and hope he doesn't have to go over there someday too.
  18. I agree. What I don't agree with is that folks that happen to believe that Z is guilty are having personal comments thrown their way and that is somehow okay, however when they are called out on it we are suddenly no longer having rational discussion. You can't have I both ways. Or maybe you can. I've expressed my logic in other posts and even offered up my own prejudices only to have those posts knocked down and incite personal comments. Believing that Z is guilty doesn't make me stupid anymore than you folks that think he's innocent. We all have opinions, and just because you don't agree with mine folks have to resort to all the snide comments. That suggests to me we can't debate rationally and what folks want is the same few people agreeing that the other is a friggin genius and there is no room for opposing views. If that is what this forum is than I apologize for having a different opinion and won't participate anymore.
  19. Egypt will need some time to get their military back to its old levels of organization and will need to indoctrinate their armed forces with whatever extremist ideology that will be developed by those few that will be running the show. Plus they'll have to hold tight until they can rack up some allies in the region. Kinda like what happened before only without Jordan playing this time; unless Obama manages to alienate King Abdullah, which would be the most impressive feat to date, but even Obama couldn't screw that up.
  20. This is the way I see it going in 5-10 years. I don't think we'll be able to stay out of it this time. Bad, bad stuff. How things go in Syria will probably give us an idea of what to expect.
  21. You're right, being emotional and sarcastic is a right reserved for a select few here. How out of line of me to point that out using sarcasm.
  22. It seems there is an assumption that accepting Islam means rejecting American ideals. It doesn't. Anyone who is curious can PM me and ask me about all the Kurds I worked with in Iraq that live in the Nashville area and have done so since the 90's. They went back to Iraq to use their language skills to serve their country at a critical time. Some didn't come back. They all loved Bush, hate Obama and never want to go back to the days of being oppressed by their government. All the while they were Muslim. Most recently I played a hand in getting another "evil" Muslim to the states who is enjoying freedom from oppression and violence, attends college and has a full time job. All the while he loves our country and still practices Islam; albeit, not to a "T". Maybe we should assume that all Muslims don't hate American ideals. For the American Muslims that do, maybe we can start making their feelings towards the government a crime so we can rid our country of them. Maybe we can call them "thought crimes"... perhaps round them up into camps until we figure out what to do with them. Yes, that sounds like the "American" thing to do.
  23. Because apparently if you have an opinion that Zimmerman is guilty you are somehow violating some law about innocent until proven guilty. Never mind that folks here believe that Obama and Holder are guilty of crimes.... I don't see how you can have that opinion if they haven't been convicted or even charged while at the same time believing folks can't have the opinion that Zimmerman is guilty of manslaughter. Or we could just play the passive aggressive game and say that you are entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong it is. Or maybe suggest that since you have such an opinion you are a mindless sheeple that has fallen for Al and Jesse. Clearly you aren't capable of developing your own opinion if you can't see how superior mine is, right?
  24. Sh!tsnacks, this is gonna be bad stuff in a couple of years.
  25. Don't start sh!t with your mouth and end it with your pistol. Tough guys take note. If this would of happened in TN I assume the results would be similar.
