  1. That isn't your government's doing, that is the doing of your fellow American voters. I don't like it either, but politicians are like children... they don't know any better. The American voter is suppose to be the smart one in this equation.
  2. Aww man, I didn't know. It's not like you guys don't do cool stuff. Playing Metallica on a speaker truck during a raid is pretty awesome in my book.

Hahaha, was he riding on the rocket pods? That's right up there with "in flight missle repairman".

Yes. It is awesome. I borrowed some Hadji copies from a friend a while back; now I'm hooked.
  5. His records show he was discharged under "honorable conditions" which is a notch below an honorable discharge but bars him from reenlisting in any of the services. There's a good chance that he was dishonorably discharged or got a less than honorable and then appealed it after his separation. That happens a lot 'cause depending on your discharge you may not get certain benefits, so folks tend to appeal and almost always get it changed. At least that is what I heard after talking with JAG guys when chaptering a few guys out for being turds. I'm sure the press will be able to dig it all up in the coming weeks and we'll find out what the original discharge was.

Nice. I remember a while back there was a dude here with all kinds of claims. I offered just to trade DD 214's minus SSN and sensitive identity information. He declined also. Hell, he even declined to share the unit he served in.

Archer is far more realistic than this show. At least Archer uses proper terminology and I've actually worn the tactical turtleneck before in combat (under armour)... keeps the single point sling from digging into your neck... Archer was not the first to recognize its advantages as a tactical garment. Add the fact that there are plenty of chicks I've come by that like to be choked I'd say that Archer is in the lead on realism.
  8. Well, I think it's just as insulting to call folks voting for Romney as "sheeple" as it is for folks who are voting for Romney to call people "Paulbots" or "sheeple", which has been argued by Paul and Johnson supporters as insulting and uncalled for. I am voting for Romney and I am not a "sheeple". I have nothing against folks voting for Paul, Johnson or even Obama for that matter. I feel less respect for the "vote you conscience" crowd when you throw things out there like that.

    FFL situations.

I've always had the box broken open but they've never just discarded the box they came in. That would bug me, especially if it was the original factory box or something like that. I had a buddy in Florida that had a Galil sent to his FFL (not a crappy knock off, the real deal in .308) and when he went to pick it up a few days after it came in the dealer had it on display on the wall behind the counter with the rest of the merchandise. Bad form. He told me he'd never use that gun store for anything ever again.
  10. ? I can make a cool story up like that too in order to poke holes in domestic policy on the use of our federal military.
  11. I'm certainly no expert on the Paki nuke program and usually pronounce it "nukyooler", but I would suspect that Pakistan's history of cloak and dagger politics leaves itself to the possibility of leaking secrets to countries that shouldn't have them. But then again, even though it's possible, and even probable, it is a long stretch from state sanctioned research sharing and only gives pieces to a very large puzzle. There are a lot of folks with a lot of money that don't want the Iranians to be nuclear. I believe that those folks probably have a greater influence on Paki policy than the US could ever hope to. The Iranians need the recipe for fried chicken. The fact that they got the lard and the pan still puts them a long way off from perfecting KFC gold.
  12. Not really. Has nothing to do with anything here. For all we know he trained to operate a printing press to distribute leaflets in war time. There aren't "spooky" jobs in PSYOPs. It just sounds a lot cooler than what it actually is.
  13. Dunno about that. They have influence in Lebanon, but Egypt and Jordan aren't exactly drinking buddies with the Ayatollah. A lot of those fundamentalists in Egypt don't look at the Shias as true Muslims, so I don't see a connection there. Jordan is an ally. Syria has no hope of returning to the relationship it had with Iran over the years. Even if the civil war all turned around it would be a long time before Syria could ever hope to do anything outside its borders. Mediterranean access.
  14. Yes.
  15. Ah, just read that the Army kicked him out in '98 for being a sh##bag. Hopefully that will quell all the BS that is sure to come out about PTSD, as he probably didn't serve in a combat zone.
  16. Yeah, we did quite a poor job with NK, but at least we have SK there as a buffer. NK is the most dangerous nuke threat on the planet due to how the power there is consolidated. Even if the new "Glorious Leader" is a level headed fellow, he is only a coup away from a nuke being detonated on the peninsula. But the big difference between NK and Iran is that NK has always had a benefactor. Iran does not. Iran doesn't even have a real ally in the region. Syria is a few months away from Sunnis either taking a chunk of the government or the whole pie. Iraq has its own problems and the Shia gov there wants no part of anything Persian. Iran might be giving handy-j's under the table to Russia and China, but neither one of those countries stands anything to benefit from Iran other than oil, and from what I hear you can name your price right now with the sanctions. Things have the potential to get worse in regards to development, but that doesn't mean they will in the near to distant future. They have a long road ahead to weaponization and we keep putting sugar in their gas tank. Despite Obama's seemingly cold relations with Israel, he has turned a very blind eye to what they're doing and I wouldn't be surprised if we had provided support along the way for some of the stuff they've been up to. For all his faults, I think that Obama has played a pretty cool headed game with Iran by achieving small victories without making the situation more tense than it needs to be. It would just be nice if he could keep his staff from opening their effing mouths. My most favorite excerpt from the past year of the Iranians pretending that they matter was when Ahmadinejad first made threats regarding the Strait of Hormuz to which the 5th Fleet in Bahrain responded to in the press. Instead of having brass respond they had their PR officer do it who was an O-3 I believe, and a female. Her response was a well worded promise of the total destruction of the Iranian Navy. Mind you how insulting that was to not only have a low ranking officer make threats against an entire navy, but a female one at that. That is like mailing Ahmadinejad a roast pig stuffed with Qurans.
  17. Well after the fluoride conspiracy failed to work they gotta come up with something new.
  18. Yeah, it meets the criteria but just doesn't make much sense, ya know? Why all of a sudden and why Sikhs? Just doesn't make any sense when you consider how much they hate Jews and black folks. I've heard a lot of racist rhetoric in my day, but never anything like "you know those Sikhs?.... yeah, their the problem with America!" I'm guessing his ignorance is not limited to just supremacy but also the fact that there are more than 3 religions out there. Well, former ignorance I guess. Yeah, but anyone that has served in either theater would know the difference, or at least should be able to.
  19. I mentioned the PRK a few posts back. As for Iran, it is not as if I don't think that they won't try their damndest to get a nuke weapon, I just don't think that they'll get there with all the roadblocks that we continue to put into place. We're doing everything possible to prevent it short of blowing up some facilities, which I think would be very good to avoid as best as we can. The second and third order effects of a US strike on Iranian soil would not be good. No one in that region wants them to get the bomb. Clearly there are a lot of things going on behind the scenes to prevent that from happening. Just assume that the Israelis, Saudis and Brits do a better job than the White House at keeping things quiet. Hell, the only time you hear anything about Israel is when Iran accuses them of killing one of their scientists. You better believe that they are sinking a lot of effort to keep the Iranian program derailed. It's kinda like kicking over an ant hill just to watch them scramble to rebuild, just to kick it over again after nearly getting it rebuilt. Iran will go broke before they get a nuke.
  20. When I saw that report I was thinking that he must be severely low in IQ to not understand that there is a huge difference between Sikhs and Muslims, as I'm assuming his attack was intended to target Muslims. I just can't think of a reason why someone would have anything against Sikhs. Not that targeting innocent Americans that believe in Islam is okay, but at least it would make sense in the demented mind of a guy like this. Considering that just about anyone that joins the Army or Marines has or will see service in a Muslim country it doesn't make sense that he wouldn't know the difference.
  21. But they aren't prepared to survive their General Officers.
  22. Just look into one of these weekend pistol courses that focus on fundamentals. It's hard to develop those when you don't know correct from incorrect and there is no one there to critique you. Once you've been taught and critiqued a little by an instructor, later down the road it makes it easier to identify what you're doing wrong on your own.
  23. Run with the herd and you're bound to step in some cow patties.
  24. I had only one factory mag with mine and one functional aftermarket. I had 6 aftermarket mags that were garbage. This was also during the Brady years when pickens were slim.
