Haha, I was actually referring to the water filter. My wife got one 6 years ago because our water tastes "yucky" or something like that. I think it tastes just fine, but then again I grew up drinking water from a hose and have experienced the thrill of drinking stagnant ditch water cut with iodine pills when I couldn't locate a fast moving water source. Considering the latter, capitulating to my wife and getting a water filter probably hasn't neutered me just yet. I can still be hard if I need to.

I'm gonna go with liberty since I'm not convinced their "security" measures do anything to prevent someone bent on killing and destruction. It just causes the crazy person to adjust their plan. In this case, the shooter didn't even bring guns into the theater. He hid them outside. Sure, now theaters are doing things like checking exits and whatnot, but you know that as the years pass they'll stop doing that. It doesn't really matter anyway since there are still other ways to kill a bunch of people at the theater. In fact, at this premier there was a crowd of hundreds lined up outside. He could have just taken a sand truck and plowed into the crowd. Probably would have killed more people that way. There is no such thing as "zero defect" in terms of security. There is always a way. I'd prefer to have the option be responsible for my own safety.

Haha, I didn't want to make it so obvious by using it singular.

Dishonorable Disclosures (Documentary) Pretty deep stuff
TMF replied to plank white's topic in General Chat
The Obama administration came out yesterday and blasted this group, saying that the members are/were in no position to know the negative effects of the leaks. This, of course, is total BS when considering the former posts that the top members of this organization once held. Also, it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that the transparent nature of the administration after the Bin Laden hit forever damaged our ability to do anything like that again in any country. The fact that they, in such great detail, explained how the Paki doctor functioned in such an integral role ensures that no one will work with us again no matter how much money is promised. That doctor will spend the rest of his life in prison now because Obama wanted to show off how awesome he is, despite the fact that he had nothing to do with it; it was the task force leadership and the source handler that did. Now some of these same folks are calling him out and he just dismisses their claims as being baseless and going so far to say that they are in no position to know better. They know better than anyone on this planet. That is no exaggeration. -
All the way.

Sumner County Deputy fired and arrested
TMF replied to gregintenn's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I read an article earlier that was referring to third year college students as "kids", so unless specified it is difficult to tell with the media. I would just assume if she was a minor they would make it a point to clarify that since it would significant to the story. -

Yeah, I'm not even certain that she is underage since they made it a point to say that her younger brother was a juvie but made no mention of her being one. I'm guessing he went in there to talk to her separate of the two dudes under the guise of getting the full story of the earlier argument and used the opportunity to coerce her into taking naughty pics. Either by flirting with her or suggesting he was collecting evidence. The fact that he has been arrested and canned already suggests that there isn't an innocent explanation for it. If she was a minor I'd like to hear the parents explanation as to why she was out with her boyfriend at 3 am. -
Handloads for Self-Defense (again) and Actual Cases
TMF replied to Clod Stomper's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Who is the authority on making that ruling? If it doesn't go to criminal trial than it is never ruled anything, yes? -
Actually, right now would be the time to do it, right? With all the hype surrounding the recent shootings, I'd say that someone who is trolling gun sale boards and sending lunatic emails would be worthy of looking into for law enforcement.

That's good. I'll have to see it when it comes out on DVD. Thanks.

He wasn't flying some ancestoral coat of arms, he was flying the flag of a foreign government. How would you feel if it was a Chinese or a Russian flag? How would it be different than this? I often represented the United States when I was in the Army. Would it have been appropriate to strip the American flag off my uniform and replace it with an Irish flag? How 'bout one of our olympians from the south running out there with the Stars and Bars? I guess that would be okay... my family fought for the CSA during the Civil War. The time to celebrate your family history is not when you're representing your country. That is what olympians are doing, representing their country. If it was supposed to be an individual sport than everyone would be a free agent and citizenship wouldn't matter. He embarrassed the US and should not be considered to represent us again.

Man Beaten, Arrested Despite Having Concealed Carry Permit
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Haha, I like that phrase, "aggressive negotiations." I'm gonna have to steal that from you. -
It's the principle of it. If you're there representing a team/country it is inappropriate to do. Imagine if the Titans made it to the Superbowl and won and the QB dons apparel from his state of record rather than Tennessee. I know I'd feel that was a big FU. If you want to represent that state, go to their team. Same applies here. He was representing the US, not Mexico. If he represented Mexico and was waving around a US Flag upon winning I'm sure Mexicans would be outraged. I don't think that he should have a medal stripped or anything, but he doesn't deserve my respect.

Not worth it for the price. Maybe for $250, but that might just piss him off if you offer that. It's a novelty gun, or at least one which you can throw in the truck and not care if it gets stolen. Sounds to me that's what it was used for. $350 would be better put towards a G19 or some other useful 9mm.

In reference to backlash regarding their new reality series "Stars Earn Stripes." I'm not a fan of reality shows in the first place, nor do I intend on watching it, but it seems that the flaming left is attacking NBC claiming that NBC is "glorifying war" with the premise. NBC's response was spot on despite their leftist, anti-military history. From the article: http://tv.yahoo.com/news/-stars-earn-stripes--draws-fire.html Anyone actually watch this show? Are there any real celebrities on there?

Lotta these in the news right now. A couple of days ago there was a rookie Metro cop that was arrested for drunkenly forcing entry into a female neighbor's house. -
Man Beaten, Arrested Despite Having Concealed Carry Permit
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
This was posted here a while ago. I'm guessing there is more to the story. This guy has a shady past and was leaving a bar at the time of the incident. There has only been one side of this story and that is from the guy who got beaten. I would like to hear the PD side. -
Was there no anti-R propaganda in there? I'm pretty suspicious anytime Will Ferrell does a movie near election time. He and his pals are notorious for throwing liberal garbage in there. Not that he isn't funny, he just needs to stick to comedy and not veiled propaganda.

Zimmerman's attorneys not using "Stand your ground" defense
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My guess is that an early statement from the PD said they had to release him IAW the SYG law. I don't know all the ins and outs of the law there, but I recall the talking heads making reference to it in the beginning and explained that I was the reason police couldn't take him into custody the night of the incident. -
Zimmerman's attorneys not using "Stand your ground" defense
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
His first lawyer said they weren't using SYG as a defense early on. That's why I never understood all the SYG hype. It makes sense they aren't using it. His story is that he was attacked and pinned by Martin. SYG wouldn't make sense because that would imply he could have run away or escaped, but instead "stood his ground" and defended himself. -
I have a Tantal wire folder on mine. If I cared more about my AK I'd put an Ace on it.
