  1. Not that I'm well versed in the "sword" market, AFAIK there is no law against having or buying one. I did a quick search on Amazon of swords made for lame-o kids who've seen "Kill Bill" one too many times. No fine print regarding Tennessee shipping. I am well aware of places in Clarksville that sell these lame-o ninja swords to include the malls. If there was a law against it I'm sure these places wouldn't exist. Plenty of my Soldiers when I was in the Army decorated their rooms with this garbage. In fact, I remember there being a place that did custom orders for broadswords as retirement gifts or for Privates who thought their red hair meant they were direct descendants of William Wallace. In either case, lame as sh**. The only people that don't look like choades for having swords are people in Cav or the Marines. EDIT: As a humorous side note, I remember a while back there being some dipsh** in the 101st who decided to take on a bunch of MPs with a ninja sword after huffing too much glue or whatever. He lost. Rock beats scissor; Bullets beat sword.
  2. It's no use. Your facts and reasonable explanations can't penetrate tin foil helmets.
  3. They aren't illegal. Every mall has a tacky Asian store that sells samurai swords and such to 18 year olds that believe they are Japanese because of their lame tattoo.
  4. I'm gonna go with the 28 Days Later zombies (or living infected). At least there they are subject to all the same perils as humans, to include sleep, food, water and oxygen. In such a scenario you could easily wait out the initial infection by surviving only a week before the vast majority are either dead or immobile. After that your freedom of movement will allow for foraging and such. After a month or two it should all be over. If it were the living dead zombies, well, in that case the infection is never over and you have to deal with the logistics of getting from here to the frozen north. That would require waiting until the winter and hoping to survive the elements on the way there. No way would I stay south of a certain latitude if the zombies were an indefinite problem, and I really, really hate cold weather. So, infected living zombies are the way I would go.

    "Glock Haters"

If my weak azz wife can shoot it then so can I in even my weakest and poorest grip state.
  6. I took it apart previously and reset the release button. One side of it had been just worn from the metal to metal rubbing from continuous use. I still use it, but my confidence is lowered as I am concern it'll collapse and take a finger off it I'm too rough with it. I don't use it for much else but cutting straps and opening boxes so it hasn't been a huge concern, just a disappointment. Won't be getting into any knife fights with it, which is why I got the .45 as a back up. I've been in the market for something new but haven't seen anything I liked. Knives nowadays are so wizz-bang it's hard to find one that is the right size and has all the capability I need. After carrying the same knife for 4 years or so I'm attached and not ready to let go.
  7. I have a S&W Extreme Ops I've been beating up for years, and now the blade collapses on it's own if too much pressure is applied. I hate that because it's the most perfect size and slim-ness to carry clipped in my pocket. I have a nicer Gerber and Benchmade, but they're just too bulky to have along w/ keys/cellphone/pocket litter.
  8. I'm good. My liberal friends have agreed to hide me under their floorboards.
  9. Nice. I remember a few years back a student at Johns Hopkins killed an intruder with his "ninja" sword. I found it both awesome an funny at the same time, since it is only cool to have a ninja sword if you've actually killed someone with it. Otherwise it is just lame.
  10. If you're that worried you can use the ancient technique of putting your shirt over it. I'm pretty certain that the first person who gets charged under this will be someone that OC's and then attempts to argue the legal validity of the posting with the business owner.
  11. "Great taste!" -- "Less filling!" "GREAT taste!" -- "No! LESS filling!" "GREAT TASTE!!!" -- "LESS FILLING!!!".....
  12. Yeah, but it isn't the first time and won't be the last. Think about how many nuke subs we have in Russia and China's AO. It's a game that we all play like peacocks in the yard.
  13. Of course it is, but it really means nothing. I bet if you carry past a 2 ft x 2ft piece of plywood with a giant gunbuster you won't get charged. Stupid law, but nothing to worry about. I would like to see it changed, but if it doesn't happen I won't lose sleep just yet. If it is a law that begins to be enforced, then you will see a big pushback and perhaps our elected leadership will do something.
  14. We have more than enough nukes to ruin their day. God forbid the "nothing to worry about" crowd brings any facts to the discussion. Obama couldn't significantly reduce our nuclear arsenal if he were in office for the next decade. Russians are always going to play their drills to let us know that they're still capable of being a threat. That is the game they play. We play the same game with the Russians, Chinese, Iran and Pakistan on a regular basis. Pretty soon the Chinese will be joining the Russians in the club of global projection. http://www.fas.org/programs/ssp/nukes/nuclearweapons/nukestatus.html
  15. Probably not until someone gets charged for carrying past a sign like you describe and then challenge it in court. Until then, I wouldn't sweat it. It hasn't happened yet as far as anyone knows and probably won't. I think the law itself is BS, but I don't think it carries any weight. If it did people would be getting charged every day.
  16. Again, making an Obama joke. Perhaps it was too dry, or too much time has passed to make it comedically relevant.
  17. I was making an Obama joke.
  18. Try to think of it less as flip-flopping and more like "evolving"...
  19. Sounds like what the Nazis told the Jews right before they put them in concentration camps....
