I never said anything about not voting. I just think its silly that any grown man would believe everything a politician says. It is just absurd. It's even more absurd to think a particular candidate kneels at the cross because he says so. Any candidate you vote for is going to make you compromise your beliefs to some extent, even if it is Ron Paul. Anyone who claims to align 100% with a particular candidate is either naive, delusional or just plain lying to themselves.

If the benchmark for worthiness of a politician is their level of honesty I have a hard time believing you could vote for anyone. Every career politician has achieved their position through dishonesty, deception and probably criminal activity.

Just a reference question there Dolo, what would be the best method for accurately increasing the gas port size? If done this before on a machine gun barrel using a Dewalt, bench vise and titanium bits, but wouldn't dream of doing it that way on one of my private guns.

The whole idea that either candidate can think for themselves is ridiculous. Romney could be anti-gun down to his core and it wouldn't matter; he ain't going after guns as president. He was governor of one of the most liberal states in the country, what did you expect him to say

Can't tell you how many times I've heard folks say that their kids "know better" than to play with a firearm if left out. Truth is, they don't know better. It's great to teach them, but the onus is still on the parent to keep them from access. They don't know better. Kids disobey their parents all the time; even good kids.

I was just thinking about it and while I am not looking forward to voting for Romney I am really, really looking forward to voting. Also, if you remember back to the 2000 election, NBC declared Florida as a Gore win before the polls closed, most certainly deterring people from going to the polls after work. It wouldn't have been so close down there if it weren't for that. Look to see that happen this time too.

Man Who Carried AK-47 Pistol In Park Loses Appeal

Kinda makes you wonder what would happen if they weren't expecting him. How about locals not knowing this guy's deal? What would someone carrying do if they saw him like that? I'm thinking it could have ended really bad and that's why he didn't do it. -
I get my wife to be a little more conservative each year when I make her look at our tax return paperwork to see how much the gov takes out.

Open carry without a permit is legal there. I don't know if one has to be a resident or not though. I'm sure he's figured that out since he was planning on OCing a suppressed AR pistol earlier this year. -

Yeah but now that he doesn't have a permit and has no hopes of ever getting one, he was planning on playing his reindeer games in Kentucky. -

Well, he's Kentucky's problem now. Perhaps I'm showing what a soulless person I am, but when I turn on the news someday and hear about some Kentucky cop burning him down I'm going to literally laugh out loud. I'll feel bad for the cop though. -
I'm conservative at the core, I'm just a social liberal, if you could even call it that. Nothing gets me riled up more than societies leeches. I got no problem with folks who are on hard times, but I regard those who are professionally on welfare as such low forms of life they shouldn't even be considered second-class citizens.

Well there's always Alaska. Plus I'm sure the new President of Alaska won't be a limp wrist. We'd just have to go to Canada to steal their women.

Learn to speak Canadian and go north. Zombies can't operate in sub-freezing temperatures. Plus, it's a safer way to purge the zombie population when they freeze.

Hahaha... weren't you in the military at some point? I think this is the first time I've ever disagreed with something you've posted. Remember the Army procurement motto: "Nothing is too good for our Soldiers, so "nothing" is what they're gonna get!" But seriously, just about everyone from SF, Rangers, flightline POGs and mail clerks use PMAGs in Afghanistan now. Before I left the Army PMAGs were a unit issue for my last two trips to Iraq. Units are buying up PMAGs, and the ones that aren't are either using opfund or paying out of pocket. The military in general surely is not on the cutting edge of what is best for the troops. For example, when I first came in the only eye pro that was issued were dust goggles from WWII or BCGs, and man, I sure thought I was cool when I put those shaded inserts in there. God forbid you put on some Oakleys... that would be cause for some elevated, strong grunt exercises to the tune of "you think you're f-ing Delta or something troop???" Then, all of a sudden, Oakleys are being issued in RFIs to line grunts and are a requirement just to zero your rifle. PMAGs are coming out in the same way. I still have a box with all my old Army garbage in it and have a couple of dozen aluminum mags that are toast from getting beat up too much on rotation. I've never had a PMAG fail due to torture.

I've been thinking Obama's going to win it for a while now, but he's taken some hits lately and I think people are really paying attention to the economy. The attack ads on Romney have clearly worked, but I think they came out the gate with that a little early and it's going to bite them in October. If I had to bet, I'd say Romney, but it's going to be close. Romney/Ryan really need to come out for the popularity contest and make themselves more likeable and it might neutralize the negative ads and get people to focus on the issues.

Just be careful about dropping that anchor. According to the book the zeds would climb up the anchor line.

I've been using World War Z as my guide for the walking dead lately; the wife bought the ebook for me last year and it was a good read. Interesting enough to get me to read it in a couple of days. According to the book they survive underwater once they sink and are able to travel the globe underwater. Kinda puts to rest the "island zombie plan". EDIT: The "Alaska zombie plan" is still valid though. There is a good "Red vs Blue" public service announcement on that one.

Is it Legal to Sale Personal reloaded ammo?
TMF replied to lshel's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've seen factory loaded ammo blow up a pistol and mess up a guy's hand. No way would I take that risk. -

You missed my point completely. I'll sum it up with this: I live in a world where carrying an AK around in public is an abnormal event, and is consistent with other events which resulted in mass shootings. This is why people call police and why police react the way they do. You may disagree with this, but it doesn't change reality, and it won't. The reason it won't is because this will never be a normal thing, someone just walking around a park with an AK. This is because only attention whore douchebags participate in that behavior. So, because of this, only .0000000001% of the population is affected by police and citizens reacting in this manner. This is reality. I live there and will continue to live there. If you don't like it, then don't carry around a short barreled rifle and try to pretend that it's normal. -
I will add this, the lines are a lot quicker now with the body scanners. I would say it is about as quick as one would expect it to be if we went back to the pre-9/11 system where you emptied your pockets and went through the metal detector. However, I am still not cool with the system where you have some mouth breather looking at people's nude projections all day long. I mean, I don't care if they're looking at my junk, but women should be allowed their modesty and I don't believe the body scanners allow for that. The alternative is to be felt up by some TSA chick, which is also intrusive.... so, thumbs down TSA. We really don't need it.

Easy equation. If government assistance is your primary means of income you are not permitted to vote due to conflict of interest. The advantage right now is that the majority of welfare sucking low-life do-nothing ambition-less pieces of sub-human leeches don't vote. That is changing though as the Democrat platform is constantly scaring the leeches by telling them the Repubs are going to turn it all off. The leeches and the bleeding hearts are the ones running it all into the ground. While the bleeding hearts have the right to vote, the leeches shouldn't. They are not citizens, they are dependants.

Man Who Carried AK-47 Pistol In Park Loses Appeal
TMF replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Okay, I missed that then. I'm familiar with the story but always understood that it was just a couple of cops that held him for a while. I didn't know the part about guns drawn, but then again I don't know the circumstances of the second incident. Perhaps LEO #2 got spooked and pulled and LEO #1 mirrored his actions. Wouldn't be out of the ordinary. I'm sure it is second nature for an officer to draw when he sees another officer do it. I don't feel bad for him one bit though. While I want my LEOs to be in check and respect people's rights, there is a margin for error when attempting to interpret a situation such as this. -

I guess I'm just not familiar with the "felony takedown" here. I was under the impression that he was detained, explained the item was legal, then demanded a supervisor. My father was a shift supervisor as an LEO and I'm aware that it is no immediate task to request his presence. The point I was making with my post was context. There just isn't an appropriate context for carrying around an AK, legal or not. It will incite panic, which I believe to be his intent. It is much different than carrying around a holstered weapon. I don't see how you don't get that.
