1. Like I said, why does it matter? You can either get punched in the face or kicked in the balls. One of the two is going to happen either way. If you end up getting kicked in the balls and you would have rather been punched in the face, don't go bitching about it if you didn't bother to make a choice. If it is all the same to you, then stay home or vote for Mickey Mouse.
2. Yes. I was surprised when I read that. I guess I underestimated their hatred of Shias. I brought up the Saudis because of their influence amongst OPEC. Bush did very well keeping that relationship maintained. I don't think we would have such a favorable position if it weren't for the Saudis, but they are still shifty and not to be trusted. I would like for a day to come where we didn't depend on them for our oil prices. As China projects itself globally in the next few decades we will have a big problem on our hands if we're still dependent upon those relationships.
3. These are the comments released by our ball-less government in response to being attacked. Can you imagine if on September 11, 2001 George Bush went on TV and apologized for America being so awful as to elicit these attacks. There is only one appropriate response to aggression and that is greater aggression. Anything less simply invites more attacks: The U.S. Embassy said in a statement that it “condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.†“Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy,†the statement read. “We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others.†Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/09/11/egyptian-mob-storms-us-embassy-destroys-american-flag-on-911-anniversary/#ixzz26GAnxTb4 "The Ambassador and staff of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo condemn the burning a copy of the Koran that occurred several days ago in the state of Florida by a small group of individuals who represent no one but themselves. Since th... e founding of our nation, the United States has upheld the principles of tolerance and respect for religious freedom. Millions of Muslim-Americans practice their faith freely throughout the United States and enjoy the full rights guaranteed to them by our laws and constitution. Public condemnation of this event has come from a variety of organizations representing the diverse religious traditions that flourish in the United States."
4. Haha, what's funny here is that "what's mine is mine" is a direct quote from Walter Sobchek. I've used it ever since the first time I saw the movie, which, by the way, Walter is my favorite character in any movie ever. He nailed that part so well.
5. In a perfect world we would be energy independent and could let the mid-east consume itself. Unfortunately, OPEC controls the oil market and can raise and lower the price of a barrel at will. To be at odds with the Saudis would make an already dire situation even worse. We need them for now. Trust me, I have no love for the Saudi royals. If my truck ran on spotted owls I would prefer that to giving money to the friggin Saudis.
6. Yeah, this is what I'm thinking. I mean, how close was he when this happened? What were the circumstances? I don't think the article tells enough here to condemn the guy as a lunatic. I've noticed that many of the shootings like this where a citizen engages a fleeing criminal, the cops have not pressed charges. Not that it makes it justified in the legal or "armchair quarterback" sense, but it goes to show the amount of leeway given to folks by law enforcement. For all we know, he attempted to stop them and they tried to run him down. I have no intention of standing by while my property is taken. If the perpetrators use force to prevent me from retaking my property I'm gonna use force back. What's mine is mine, and I have yet to see a law that states I have an obligation to hand my property over to criminals.
7. Romney needs to be beating up Obama on this one in the debates. There is no reason why we shouldn't be cutting diplomatic ties with Egypt and Libya right now, and launching a few cruise missiles into Libya on the way out.
8. Not true. And, based on your assessment, non-Christian Americans should have no voice in Government, or at least a less legitimate voice. Why not just make it official and make non-Christian votes fractional.... just throwing out a number, but let's say 3/5ths.....
9. Well, to be fair, when I checked Mickey Mouse's campaign page he takes a much more stern stance in favor of the 2A. Therefore, I'm voting for him because I'm sure he can beat Obama if we all really, really want it.
10. I am absolutely astounded by the initial reaction from the Obama administration on this. We have a US Ambassador dead and we're apologizing to the mob that killed him. The irony of the date this took place is not lost on me. I have gone from disliking Obama as a politician to hating him as a man. He has declared open season on Americans by responding in such a weak manner. There will most certainly be more to follow if he is reelected.
11. Sorry, missed this part. They absolutely believe that Jesus Christ is the messiah, and will return during end times to lead Muslims in the fight against the anti-Christ. They do not believe that he was resurrected or that he was the son of God, just a prophet. And, of course like all prophets, he is a Muslim.
12. From a non-religious perspective it would still seem pragmatic to support Israel to some degree. I'm not certain how much we give them in terms of cash or hardware, but it certainly isn't so much that it makes a significant dent into what we give other countries that hate us. I'm sure you're against all that too, as am I, but at least Israel is an ally. Beyond that, being proactive versus reactive makes fiscal sense. As an example, if Clinton had invested just a tiny bit in the elimination of al Qaeda back in the '90s, we would have prevented 9/11 and a war that has gone on for 11 years at great expense to the tax payer. Surely that makes sense to you, right? To say that we never should have gone there might make you feel better, but the reality is that if it happens the "Ayes" will outnumber the "Nays" everytime after we're attacked, so best to just avoid it altogether. Now, with that rationalization let's look at Israel and Iran. There should be a given to anyone with limited understanding regarding Iran's position on Israel that if they get a nuke they will use it. Absolutely they will use it. They have stated time and again that a state objective is the elimination of Israel from the holy lands. Now, do you think if Iran tosses a nuke over the fence we'll be sitting by as it happens? Nope. We WILL get involved whether you think we should or not. So an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. We need to continue to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuke if we want to stay out of a very, very large scale war in the region. Best way to do that is to keep giving Israel the support they need to undermine the Iranian nuke program, while twisting their elbow into their ear with sanctions. And, if need be, give the Israelis the tools they need to be successful in a strike on their nuke facilities. Just being realistic about the situation. I'd like to focus on what's going on in our borders too, but we can't do that with the belief that everything outside our borders has no effect on us. Tried that in WWII; didn't work out. Had we waited a little longer we would either be sporting swastikas or be referring to one another as comrade.
13. Yes, they believe that the OT and NT were corrupted by man, but were the word of God in it's original form. It's a big part of their argument for the Quran, as they believe it exists today in its original, uncorrupted form; straight from Muhammed's mouth to currently printed Quran's. Since they believe Muhammed to be the final prophet (because they also believe in all the others) this is the final word of God until Jesus returns to lead Muslims in the fight against the anti-Christ. Of course, according to history the Quran has absolutely been corrupted and adapted after Muhammed's death, along with soooo many of the hadiths to the point that Muslim scholars had to get together and classify them based on their veracity. However, with all this, they still believe in several books of the Bible in their current form. I'd have to search around 'cause I don't remember exactly which ones, but they believe in them and do not consider them corrupted. There are many things they differ on in regards to their belief in the OT and NT and Jesus Christ, but then again, so do the Mormans and many of us are about to vote for one as President of the US. My statement above was to temper the misunderstanding of the relation of Islam to Christianity and Judaism. They all derive from the same source. In fact, Muslim scholars have argued that Christians and Jews may be allowed into heaven even though they haven't followed the final prophet.... kinda nice of them, huh?
14. I have the 4 inch model and I love it. I didn't go with the 3 inch just because it was too small for me. I have a buddy that carries the 3 inch and he seems to dig it just fine. $800 is a very fair price considering the MSRP being around $1200, so long as the used one isn't tore up. Buying used is the way to go on these higher end guns that retail for a lot. I mean, if you buy it new it's going to be used after you shoot it anyway; why not just buy it used and save a few hundred bucks? Besides, Kimber recommends a few hundred rounds be run through it to break it in first, so the previous owner has already done that for you at his expense! The only thing I don't like about it is the finish on the receiver. It scratches waaay to easy, which is a pain since I carry mine all the time. Bumping into stuff scratches it too easy. I can even see marks on it from my wedding ring. If the one you're looking at is free from scratches that means he probably didn't use it much.
15. Does it really matter? There are only two men who stand a chance of winning in November. That is a fact. The question that keeps being posed is would you rather get punched in the face or kicked in the balls? You can say "neither" but one of the two is going to happen whether you like it or not. I'd rather get punched in the face, and I'd like to at least get a say in the decision instead of having folks make that decision for me. I don't like it either, but you can choose to live in reality or fantasy pretend world where life is fair.
16. You're smart enough to know that our economy runs on oil. We can't enjoy our way if life without it. In fact, without it we would see famine on a scale much higher than during the great depression. Unless you believe that all those big rigs on our highways run on sunshine. And the Iranians (Muslims) do believe in the Old and New Testaments, consider themselves children of Abraham, and believe that Jesus is the Messiah.
17. Anything is possible. Jennifer Anniston could drop by tomorrow and offer unlimited access to all of her naughty parts. Probably won't happen though. This makes a little more sense, although I don't believe his intentions were to ignore Israel for the purpose of forcing their hand. He has a history of cold relations there, so his behavior towards them now is consistent with the way it's always been. I do believe it is in the best interest of Israel to strike before the elections if it looks like Obama is going to win. If they do it will likely result in Obama being forced to be supportive, as opposed to if they struck later on. Of course, the downside to this is if Israel strikes before the election Obama will absolutely win.
18. Not to say that many don't trace their lineage back to Europe, but many of the Israelis I know are Jews who were there loooooong before the 1940s.
19. Incredible that someone who went out of their way to cause a stir and elicit a reaction from law enforcement could be so inconvenienced by LEOs while he is just minding his own business walking around with an AK in a public park like so many other law abiding citizens do every day. What is the world coming to???

I feel the same way about this as I do about hippies. Yeah, I believe in their right to protest, but I do get pleasure from watching cops put the boots to them, or industrial amounts of pepper spray.
20. Haha... communists.
21. It's not about "settling", it's about reality. The reality is that the politicians aren't the problem, its the dummy voters and party liners who have relinquished our country over to a crooked system. Idealistically I would love to change that, but realistically I can't and neither can you. Boycotting the two party system might make you feel better, but it changes nothing due to the sheer numbers of party liners. The answer? Reelect no one. Of course, that would mean you'd have to vote for a liberal democrat at some point. If just a small section of the voting population (10%) were to do this they would swing most every election. If our elected leaders were denied the possibility of making politics a career things might change. They might even start working for us again. I dunno, there is just no feasible way to combat this problem... too many dummies. The only way to beat the system is to work within it.
22. And that is why I don't get worked up about crappy leaders in our government. It is the American people that have created this market for these slick tongued snakes to thrive in. They can't help it, they're born liars. We complain about the sh*t sandwich we have to eat from our leaders in government, but it's our friends and neighbors that are making the friggin sandwich. The politicians are just the ones serving it to us.
23. I believe all politicians are deceptive. How else would they get to where they are? They sure didn't get there by telling the truth all the time.
