  1. That'll work just as dog spray will, but they gotta get close. There are some dogs that won't care though.
  2. I wouldn't have raised an eyebrow at the admission if I weren't for the fact that much of the room was taken up with surplus junk and novelty swords. I still made a deal and all, but that was an impulse deal; I didn't see any of the stuff I was looking for... just a lot of junk. At least my son got to check out the tank up close. That made his day.
  3. Hahahahahahahaha!
  4. The only thing I'm knife fighting is a strip steak. I carry a knife to untie knots. I carry a gun to shoot dummies with knives.
  5. Most dogs won't attack unless you're running away, thus feeding their prey drive. As soon as you turn and square of with them they should cease their advance. Being loud and raising your arms above your head to appear bigger will stop them. The ones that need a dose of lead are the ones that keep coming. They are the ones who will most certainly mess you up. This makes up very, very few dog personalities. I've been chased by loose dogs all the time jogging downtown. I don't take a gun when jogging, and have always been able to stop an advance by doing what I stated above. The problem frequently was that eventually I have to start running again, which starts the whole thing over again. One particular pit followed me for several blocks before it gave up and went home. If I had my gun on me I absolutely would have shot it out of frustration, as I had no way to retreat without being attacked. So I had run-turn around-walk-run and so on. That dog had no business terrorizing the neighborhood and would have been put down anyway had it managed to bite me. Now, if you have a dog of your own with you your actions will probably not override the aggressor dog's attack on your animal, so you can just shoot it on advance and deal with the consequences, or you can beat the crap out of it as it mauls your dog and perhaps gets a few bites on you. No good options. I'm a dog lover and detest crappy dog owners and animal abusers, but I will put an aggressive dog down in a heartbeat if need be.
  6. Oh yeah, I've seen that play out several times on my grandparents ranch when I was a kid. Seen an equal number of them just get severely maimed and have to be put down and eaten for supper.
  7. 2nd on red tailed hawk. You can't see the red how he's sitting.
  8. It took more than a few peckerheads to reelect the line of government leadership that has run that city into a post-apocalyptic wasteland. There are good people in California too, but the idiots that outnumber them will succeed in destroying that state as well.

    MSAR STG E4 Rifle

I have one of the older gen ones too. Mine seems to work fine. I dig it. I saw a lot of internet bashing of the rifles, so I was a little apprehensive, but I bit the bullet and mine shoots just fine. The newer ones that take M16 mags would be the way to go to avoid the pain of buying AUG mags. Mine came with a dozen mags so it wasn't an issue for me.
  10. Walked out with an M&P 22. 8 bucks admission was kinda pricey for such a small show though.
  11. Well I hope so if you're carrying that 1911!
  12. Ha, yeah, just a little political this morning. Had a conversation with the wife where she is considering not voting at all. Tennessee is going to Romney, so it is moot regarding how many people stay home out of frustration, but it is the principle of it. Folks fought and died for the right to choose our leaders. I look at it as less of a right and more of a duty, even if the person is voting for Obama. This election cycle is irritating me on that point. Even voting third party is great, so long as the person isn't planning in whining when Obama wins over Romney.
  13. That depends on what your priorities are. Romney isn't as conservative as many would like, but that is the most conservative candidate that has a chance of winning. If it is all the same in your opinion then stay home and don't vote or vote third party; but don't whine when one wins and you'd prefer the other.
  14. Anybody find the candy corn Oreos yet? I've been looking for them since the South Park episode about them.
  15. That is the interview I listened to. I was on the road and listened on XM. Morgan was baiting him on a couple of issues but I can't remember what they were; I just remember one was early on in the interview and was somewhat badgering. Scalia handled it all well and I thought the interview was very insightful. It would have been even better if the host wasn't a freedom hating limey though.
  16. Check your outdoor outlets and any you have in your kitchen.
  17. When the outlet gets tripped in one bathroom they all go out. I had to reset all of them last time before they would work. Go around and reset every GFI outlet and chances are you'll get the one that is affecting the rest of them.
  18. There were no victims in that case, just two dumbasses. One is dead and the other is in jail.
  19. Anyone know what time they open tomorrow (Sunday)?
  20. I was listening to an interview with Scalia the other day. He said that they are great friends although they disagree on everything. There is no reason why two people with very different philosophies can't get along. I get along just fine with liberals so long as they aren't venomous a-holes about it.
  21. Do what he said here. I have this problem every time the inlaws visit. It's like Christmas lights; one goes out and they all go out. It took me a while to figure this out too.
  22. Complaining about bad customer service at Walmart is like complaining about your prostitute having herpes. If you like low prices there are some compromises you have to make.
  23. Expecting the guy at Walmart to be knowledgable of firearms is foolish. If you wan that kind of customer support, go to a real gun store. I worked in the pet department at Walmart when I was in high school; anyone expecting me to be some kind of dog or fish expert because of that would be a moron. If you want a higher level of service to someplace that specializes in the product you're purchasing and pay extra. Geez friggin' Louise. Why the hell does everyone always bitch about Walmart?
  24. Depends on the snake. A lot of them are quite painful on the road to death; full body, not just the bite area.
