1. Hmmm... armed individuals trespassing on my property? If LEOs aren't willing to respond to that and handle it they should be ready to clean up the mess of lead poisoning victims.
 2.
Wally is selling Stevens on Black Friday for $169, at least here in Knoxville, dunno how it compares with Pardner or Maverick:
I bet it goes bang and throws projectiles as straight as a smooth bore firearm can. What a deal. If my son were old enough I'd buy that up for him.
 3.
One prob with your assertion: FBI may have known about this for a year or two. Petraeus first met Broadwell in 2009. I think it's quite reasonable to think BHO had this dirt available for some time. It's the LBJ way, "I don't trust a man unless I've get his pecker in my pocket." - OS
Hence the timing. Could all be coincidence; I'm certainly no conspiracy theory guy, but the timing of all this is fishy. If this was something Obama was hiding up his sleeve until after the election, I'd say he's dirtier than I gave him credit for.
 4.
I still say the Saiga 12, I do have 2 REM 870s, 2 WIN 1200, and 1 MOSSY 500. None of them will out shoot my Saiga 12. The Saiga is my Best and the one I go to!!!
I got the impression he was looking for an economical shotty. In that case there are plenty of great 12 and 20 GA shotguns out there for around $200. Don't know what Saigas are going for now, but I know they aren't too cheap.
 5. It's that time of year for sure.
 6. Dear God, that makes my head hurt.
 7.
I've never shot a mosin but that makes me want one.
Much like Obamaphones, everyone should have a Mosin. If you don't have one, sell the crappiest gun in your safe and use that to get a Mosin.
 8.
Carried Glocks for 7 to 8 years now....tried saftey's and fumbled with them to much. I'm not a professional[sup] [/sup]nor to I posses skills to accuratly drive pure muscle memory out of my butt to defend myself. I swear to God I'd "Barney Fife" the friggin' gun if it had an external saftey to deal with now. Like revolvers, I want to draw, point and shoot quickly. I can do that with Glocks and others like them. Any saftey levered gun I've owned in the past years have always ended up as range guns. Don't recall even trying to carry one.....ever since I started with my first Glock, I've never looked back.
Yeah, this is what I'm always bringing up in regard to handguns with safeties. If you can't devote the time to getting the muscle memory down to disengage the safety as you present, it is better to just ditch the safety altogether. Some people can do it. I can switch back between a 1911 and Glock without missing a beat, but it took a lot of pain to get there.
 9.
I think if someone is convicted of a felony and are going to permanently lose all of their rights and drastically decrease their ability to get a good job by 100%+ for the rest of their lives we should just have a spare room in the back of the court house where you put a slug through their head the instance they are convicted. While I dont think all felons should just be running around with guns I do think you should be able to regain your rights after say 7-10 years of sentencing after a review from the courts(Non Violent felons). Hell there is no telling how many people on this forum that have committed some type of crime throughout there life that had they been caught would have ended up with a felony conviction or loss of gun rights at a minimum, only difference between them and the criminal is the criminal got caught imo.
Yep. If I had got caught during my 18th year I'd be felon for sure. I'm a lot different now from those days. This guy was defending his own. Not using the best tool available would be stupid.
 10.
would be even nicer if he could get some media, both print and TV to tell his story.
Ain't gonna happen. At least not until Obama is irrelevant. I wish it were different.
 11.
I don’t know why anyone that served with such an honorable military career as he had would want a job running the CIA. There is nothing to indicate what he is saying is not the truth. The elections over; Obama doesn’t have to answer to anyone anymore. If he wanted to fire him; he would just do it. Looks to me like the guy had an affair and stepped down because of it.
My guess is the same. A shame, really. The timing is what makes it so suspect.
 12.
But now that Petraeus is out from under job pressure, the hearings next week may be quite a bit more interesting than they might have been otherwise. We'll see. - OS
Unfortunately, I don't see Petraeus using his new found freedom of speech to throw Obama under the bus in the media or otherwise. Then again, I don't see him screwing up his marriage by screwing his biographer either, so anything is possible. Agree strongly with the above statement regarding folks in the upper echelons of the intelligence community being susceptible to blackmail. Ain't likely that blackmail is a likely scenario, but that is how it works. If there are skeletons in your closet, you can be exploited. Perhaps his resignation was professional courtesy, but the timing is suuuuure suspect.
 13.
I know a shop that gives active, reserve, retired military, active teachers, local university students, fire fighters and LEO (retired with creds) discounts.
Ha, yeah. I was thinking that, but it doesn't work for guys like me who prematurely jumped ship. I always get funny looks when buying there: You military? No. Law enforcement? No. Fire fighter? No. EMT? No. Really???
 14.
Not sure I follow the logic behind reprimanding soldiers for this movie (and video game now?) when the O administration has done nothing but pimp out the seals to hollywood for the past two years. Where was their uproar when O released classified info for the OBL takedown? Where was their uproar when the O Administration forced seals to cooperate, star in and release classified info for Act Of Valor? best answer yet
They aren't Soldiers, they're Sailors. Other than that, yes it is sad that we hold our military personnel to a higher standard than those that occupy the White House, but that is the way it has always been and will continue to be. There is a reason that non-disclosure statements and security clearances exist. There is no room and no excuse for members of the community to do what they did. It is inconsequential that much of this is open-source due to the White House. If the actions of these SEALs go unanswered it will be the same as condoning them. They deserve punishment. They have certainly met the criteria to have their clearances pulled, although it probably won't go past mast.
 15.
I have a colleague who is a former Navy SEAL. He is finally looking to buy an AR. I am trying to help him track down a shop that offers any of the military discount programs. Does anyone know who (if anyone) is handling military discounts on an AR? Thanks, Chip
He is a former SEAL and doesn't already have one. How unusual. I don't think you will find many shops that offer military discounts to folks who aren't active or reserve.
 16.
That's when you try to put your gun in a holster it wasn't designed for.
Had a good one for this, but thought it would be taking it too far.
 17.
Considering that most of the people that you are talking about are combat veterans, I want to tell you that you don't know what the f*ck you are talking about when you limit sacrifices for this country to whatever inbreed gene pool that created you. Secondly, I stand by what I said. YOU NEED A MENTAL EVALUATION!
I also LOL'd; I never do that.
I'll second that.
Third!
 19.
You are probably right tmf. Should have added the " that's what I would do" disclaimer. Mine wears wranglers. Haha
Ha, yeah I considered that a couple of my exes who rocked the Wranglers wouldn't have batted an eye at someone with a gun, but all the other ones would absolutely be put off by it. Always thought I'd end up with a redneck girl too; somehow I got a Yankee.
 20.
I would just tell her up front. If she doesn't like it stand your ground. She may or may not appreciate a man with strong principles.
Unless she wears a badge or Wranglers she will probably not react favorably to that conversation. I'd play the averages and assume she is like most women who would find carrying a firearm as abnormal. Save it for later as you get to know each other better. If you fail to make a positive first impression don't expect a call back.
 21. Some chicks are crazy about that stuff, so first impressions may be bad if she notices you packing. It isn't normal to carry a gun, and that is how most chicks will see it. Either don't carry or carry something small that conceals well.
 22. The DA would be an ahole to press charges, but it's California, so he probably will.
 23.
So I imagine $250 was a decent buy?
Great buy. I have a newer model 336 (mid 90s) and I would buy another one if it was listed so low just out of principle.
 24. Like someone above mentioned, if you're looking to save money, buy used. I used to think Mossbergs were the best choice because of their price, but it seems 870's are far down in price from the last time I was shotgun shopping. I have a Remington and a Mossberg. They both work fine. Pretty hard to screw them up.
