1. Sorry, I'm responsible for clearing out the remainder of the CCI mini mags at my Walmart. I saw they were running low so I felt compelled to buy out the rest.
 2. I gotta be honest, my childhood was just like that, but it scares the bejesus outa me the thought of letting my kids run around the way we did.
 3.
Keep in mind my sass shoots sub moa very easily and would average .5 moa most days when I do my part.
Wow. That's good. I'm not familiar with these but if that is common I would be more than happy with that. I don't believe there are many people that can shoot to the capability of a 1/2 MOA rifle.
 4. Anyone this concerned over a home invasion should just spend about 40 bucks, put an IR alarm on his front door and sleep soundly that anyone who breaks in will be scared by the noise. Certainly he can't believe that his 63 year old cat-like reflexes will enable him to go from a dead sleep to springing across the room to retrieve a firearm then engage multiple intruders in less than 8 seconds. I'm pretty confident that I am quicker than most in that department, but I still have an alarm and dogs as my primary means of mitigating a home invasion.
 5. Two things had to happen for this boy to be shot. First, the gun had to be pointed at him. Second, the trigger had to be pulled. If someone can't grasp the simple concepts that you should never point a firearm at anyone nor should you pull the trigger unless you are going to shoot something I don't see how any passive safety features would prevent this. It's like when I see stories of toddlers drowning in the family pool. All the baby gates and safety latches in the world won't help you if you aren't doing the basic steps of keeping an eye on your children.
 6.
Actually, the VA doctor who does the psych evaluation makes the determination if the Vet is capable of managing his/her financial affairs. Its written at the end of their report. Again, almost every Vet, even those with mental health issues, are deemed capable of managing their own money, i.e. VA benefits.
AFAIK, there is not a prerequisite for a psych eval to appoint a fiduciary. If I get into a car wreck tomorrow and slip into a coma the VA would still have to pay benefits and would have to appoint my wife. They would then forward that information to the FBI and I would never be able to purchase from an FFL again. Great idea.
 7.
39-13-101. Assault. (a) A person commits assault who: (1) Intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another; (2) Intentionally or knowingly causes another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury; or (3) Intentionally or knowingly causes physical contact with another and a reasonable person would regard the contact as extremely offensive or provocative. Show me where in the TN assault statute is says its a crime to use words only? I don't like the statute either but it doesn't make it "not true." I only brought this up because a previous poster said he received death threats and the police told him there was nothing they could do. Outside of harassment by telephone, I think unfortunately the officers were right.
A, 2. It literally happens almost everyday here.
 8.
Seems to me the issue with vets is the same with everyonbe else: It's not "financial skills", it's mental state.
It most certainly is not. This isn't being decided by a court or even doctors. It is because a veterans life is opened to more scrutiny due to receiving benefits. It is. It okay to have additional restrictions for veterans.
 9.
If I tell my wife “I’m going to kill you”; that’s domestic violence. I get arrested and upon conviction I lose my HCP. Yet according to you I can tell a Co-worker “I’m going to kill you tomorrow; I’m going to shoot you.”, and no crime has been committed under Tennessee law because its free speech?
I believe that is what he is trying to say. He is wrong. In fact, isn't there a woman sitting in a Nashville jail after simply making an off hand comment about showing up to work and killing everyone? As I recall it wasn't even a direct threat and she still got the metal bracelets.
 10.
A simple "death threat" is not a crime under TN law. It is only an assault under TN law if the threat of bodily harm is imminent. Basically you would have to be charging at, swinging at the victim for it to apply. ( Or some other sort of immediate threat of violence, like brandishing a gun.) Just saying "I'm going to kill you" is free speech unless it rises to the level of one of the harassment laws. Back to the original post, very few Vets are appointed a fiduciary. If you are appointed one, something is seriously wrong. All examples I am aware of are for people with serious mental health issues. Personally, I don't want someone suffering from paranoid, homocidal thoughts possessing a firearm. If the Vet still wants to purchase a firearm, they can always decline the VA benefits.
First, making a viable threat is assault. It isn't free speech. The problem is proof that such threats took place. Second, you seem to think that Vets should be held to a different standard in terms of 2nd Amendment rights than the average citizen. There is so much wrong with that line of thinking I can't even fit it into my head.
 11.
Im sorry but if some sh*t face took a pop shot at you from 800 meters with an AK47 while your cruising around in a armored Humvee you have no clue as to what Yeager or any of the men on that team were experiencing that day and should stfu and go back to lying to everyone about how you were Chuck Norris and how much ass you kicked over there rather than the truth which is how you sat on your ass playing Call of Duty on xbox most of the day
I rock the hell outa some COD on XBOX. That is one of the best parts about being deployed. Yeager is still a douche.
 12.
Hence the reason that in America, people are considered innocent until proven guilty.
I don't think I've suggested anything to the contrary.
 13.
Then there's Ft. Campbell which is in both TN and KY, so which one is your duty station?
Which ever side of the border you can prove you live on. Soldiers living on the TN side have to show proof of residency along with orders. On the KY side orders should be sufficient to purchase there.
 14.
For pretty much all other purposes, I'd agree. But that's not how the definition in sec. 921 reads. It's pretty specific that for the purposes of the chapter (Chapter 44 - Firearms) active duty residence is the PDS state. It makes no mention that I saw for being a dual citizen of sorts. It makes sense. In these rare cases like Robert's, it hurts the active duty person. But without that definition, the man in MO wouldn't be able to buy a handgun at the local gun store or PX. He'd have to come home to TN to do that then carry it back. That's not so bad when it's MO and TN, but would suck if you're from Florida and stationed in Alaska or Hawaii.
When I was in the military my home of record was elsewhere, yet I bought at least half a dozen firearms in the state of TN from FFL dealers. All I had to show was my orders and proof of residency (such as a power bill). I could turn right around and purchase a firearm in my home state from an FFL as well. This happens everyday right here in Clarksville.

 16. I bought my first pistol when I was 18.
 17.
Should you call 911 after you kill an intruder?i mean its no longer an emergency. They have a number for non emergency calls.
Our local PD doesn't have one. I actually called their front desk one day to report a malfunctioning traffic light and they told me to hang up and dial 911. Of course, a dead intruder is an emergency if you want to get the meat wagon there before his liquidy parts soak into the subfloor.
 18.
Even if you think GZ is guilty, you must admit that there is no evidence there to support malice or premeditation needed for 2nd degree murder.
No evidence that we're aware of. But I'm not on the prosecution so I don't know what they have. Certainly they must have something good to have charged him with 2nd degree versus manslaughter. My opinion is based on reasonable assumptions from Zimmerman's admitted actions and what was recorded on the dispatch tapes. I don't believe this is more than manslaughter, but I don't have all the evidence. I am very interested to see what they have.
 19.
So... if you and I were on that jury, he would still walk . We all know Zimmerman screwed up by not cowering in his truck. Fact is though, he had as much right to be there as Martin. Who initiated violent action, and was Z in fear for his life? It's really that simple.
I don't think it is that simple though. Like I said, if this was about self defense alone his trial would last a day and he would be a free man. I dont disagree at all that he was in fear for his life. There is more to this story than that, and there will most certainly be more evidence when this goes to trial.
 20.
Z was only arrested and charged after a huge media frenzy. That wouldn't have happened if the thug wasn't a 12 year old black kid that looked like Obama's son.
Yes, but that is to assume that one had to do with the other. Casey Anthony was also arrested and charged after a huge media frenzy. So was OJ Simpson. I don't believe that the media was the deciding factor there. Keep in mind that both those individuals were found not guilty even though they most likely were, so I wouldn't worry about Z not getting a fair trial. If the evidence doesn't support it he will go free. If it does he will go to jail. I'm not excusing all the morons involved here such as NBC. I don't believe there are any redeeming characters in this situation. But I'm not allowing the racist lefties involved here cloud my judgement one way or the other. Just because the racist vulture media committed an atrocity here, that doesn't mean the man is innocent.
Its Dec. 7th. Pearl Harbor day.......
Or as my Grandfather called it, "Slap a Jap" day.
 22.
Correct. He's on trial because of a media circus, race baiting bad actors, and a liberal sh#t hissy. Since the election, I'm not counting on any sane outcome on ANY issue. With that said, based on the evidence that's been released so far, he would walk if I was on the jury.
I think that if this was a matter of self defense the case would never make it to trial, and if it did, the defense could easily make the argument that Z's life was threatened and he acted accordingly. However, this case is going to be about the events leading up to the alteration and who initiated it. Removing race and all that crap, if this same incident occurred here in TN, and it was two white guys who acted just the same as Z and Martin, I believe that the "Z" character would be on trial for manslaughter.
 23.
From what I read I got the opposite conclusion. Please explain how the 17 year old pot head bashing the guys head into the concrete, after breaking his nose, makes him innocent? This is basic self defence and should never have gone to trial.
I don't believe the level of force he used to defend himself is the reason he is on trial.
 24. If you're that worried go through an FFL. Just be advised that some purchasers don't want to do that. Otherwise, if you do a bill of sale you would need to hang on to it forever if you want that peace of mind. If someone had an problem filling out a bill of sale, there would be no way I would sell to them.
 25. I don't know if there is just a sudden rash of these things or the media is just hot on reporting them now, but we had one of these in Clarksville a couple weeks ago where an officer shot a dog that was chained up in the owner's yard. The owner didn't even know there was an officer on her property. She just heard a gunshot, went outside and saw her dead dog on the chain still. No explanation was given to her then and I haven't seen CPD give an explanation in the paper yet. WTF?
