Now if someone will invest on building an indoor range near ft campbell and clarksville it will surely be a hit among people around the area.
There is a small indoor range at Exit 35. Pistol only and 6-8 lanes. Not exactly state of the art, but the cost is cheap.
  2.   This is the best one in the area.  Very nice range.  It can get a little crowded though, and sucks that it is only open on the weekend.  The skeet/trap ranges are awesome and a great way to spend an afternoon.  Other than that, there is a free range in Land Between the Lakes, which is a 45 min drive, but is open all week.  Great for flat range work during the weekdays.
  3. I have determined that the reason folks like him are so bent against the existence of destructive devices designed to kill is because he would have no intention of ever making a stand that could possibly put him in harms way, even if it was from an assailant bent on killing him.  It's taken a long time for me to figure this out about people like him, but I've met plenty.  I figure it's because, even when defending yourself from certain death, you still must make a choice.  By not making a choice it removes you from responsibility and leaves it to fate.  That is a much more comfortable feeling for many people.  The problem is, people like Morgan take it to a new level.  Not only are they such cowards that the thought of defending themselves is too scary, but it upsets them that there are people out there with the intestinal fortitude to take control of their own lives and stand up for the right to live.    On some level I can agree with the mentality of the gun grabbers.  If I could wish away all of the destructive implements designed to kill people and know that Pandora's Box couldn't be opened again, I would.  But the fact is the box can't be closed.  We have nuclear weapons now on top of all the other man-killing implements we've designed since moving on from wooden clubs and heavy boulders.  We can't go back.  Not because we don't want to, but because we will never be able to absolutely deny access to those that would use such weapons to destroy innocents.  Therefore, we all should be armed to the teeth, and be so inclined to use those weapons to protect those that can't/won't protect themselves.  It isn't perfect, but it is the reality of life.  We will never be able to control the development of evil.  We can only kill it when it finally rears it's head and hope that as few innocents are taken as possible.  It isn't perfect, but that is freedom.   While I empathize with the pasifists that lack the stomach to take another life, folks like Morgan who wish to take away the ability of sack having men to defend themselves and their family are a different animal.  Folks like Morgan need to fold a frisbee in to 1/4 sections and attempt to swallow it.
  4. From what I can tell from visiting Gunbroker, maybe half of folks are panic buying because they're worried about the ban. The other half are scooped up as much as possible after the CT shooting so they could turn around and sell for three times what they paid.
  5. Ha, so you can get a DD rifle for about as much as a doublestar rifle is going for right now.

Sold, not trade mind you.
Ahhhh, say it ain't so! BTW, it appears that the current craze hasn't raised the prices of MSARs on Gunbroker for the most part. It looks like they're going for as much as an AR15. If you happen to have an extra one around it looks like you can sell it and use the cash for an MSAR.

So you're done with that X-Five, huh?
  8. Disgusting. Of course this is about money. It is silly to say the school didn't do everything within reason to prevent this, or at least mitigate risk to a reasonable level. This guy would have succeeded in killing folks no matter where he chose to go on a rampage. Didn't a guy just go on a shooting spree in a police station in NJ? Nearly everyone in there is armed and folks were still shot. This lawyer needs to be raped by a rhinoceros.
  9. I would gladly hand over one of my ARs for Peirce Morgan to destroy if he let me punch him in the face as hard as I can.

Instead, we must blame an inanimate object like the Bushwhacker super assault machine gun and the high capacity hammer he committed his original crime with.

    Price police??
I cant change it so thats all my ranting as for the guys buying up all the AR and AK rifles and then turning around and selling them for triple the price ....Good luck with that ...Isnt that illegal? Not the price marking up part but the part about Buying with the intention of .
If it is a firearm, it is illegal unless you have an FFL. I'm familiar with stories of folks buying out a store's stock of lowers and marking them up at 3x the price. Highly illegal and a generally sh**ty thing to do given the circumstances. Then again, people made money selling chunks of concrete and saying it was from the WTC. Open market, right? Buyer beware, right? Whatever helps folks sleep at night.

    Price police??
I just really don't get this price police crap.  If someone were to email me and berate me as being less than honest for my asking price for an honestly described item, they would be getting quite a passionate and unpleasant response from me.
Rightfully so. I'd never berate someone for choosing to price gouge, but I'll remember their name in the future when it comes to buying or selling (just like CTD). The problem is there are folks that purchased items at the onset of his tragic event with the purpose of turning a profit. Last time I checked that is illegal to do with firearms; at the very least it is unethical. This is carpetbagger territory. Then there are the folks who had items sitting around that they decided to sell when the panic buying drove prices up. On the one hand I would call that unethical, on the other I would consider the folks dumb enough to pay those prices deserving to be parted with their money. At any rate, it comes down to how you feel about yourself after doing a transaction. If it makes you feel good that you scored a few extra bucks because a lunatic shot a bunch of kids in CT, then good for you. Don't expect to do business with me ever.

    Price police??
Unless you have a crystal ball, I don't think that there is any way to clearly say that someone is an unethical opportunist.  No one here knows what they paid for whatever they are selling.  You may think that you do, or think that you have a pretty good idea based on a sale you saw somewhere a month ago for the same item, but as has been pointed out, it really only matters what the buyer and the seller think.  All others need not apply.
I'm not condoning thread crapping, but when a person puts up a Bushmaster stock rifle (used) for $1400 only days after the tragedy in CT it doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out what's going on. Also, when someone is selling a gross of Pmags or a half dozen new stripped lowers for 3x price around the same time frame I don't need to be a forensic accountant to determine what the seller is doing. It is self evident. No crystal ball needed. Like I said, let your conscience be your guide. If that is something you feel comfortable doing, by all means, have at it. But if I was to sell one of my rifles or lowers at a good price only to see it marked up considerably days later, I'm calling the ATF.
  19.
I agree. I would rather just hit him upside the head with my 1911... just because he really needs it.
Is there anyone one at NBC/MSNBC that doesn't deserve that? CNN just deserves a good polymer lashing, like a Glock... with the exception of Robin Meade. She can carry on.... drool.
  20. Not that I support this idiot, but hard to see charging him. Kinda like that elderly lady whose deceased husband had the FA war trophy. Yeah, she technically violated a crime punishable by 10 years in prison, but what was the intent?

    Thin 9mm
I like the DB9 but am scared with some reviews I have read about FTE and FTF
Ha, I saw this thread and was hoping Graycrait chimed up about his DB9. Having shot it, it is as accurate as anything else I've shot at 7-10m. It is also the thinnest 9mm I've ever seen. More so than any pistol mentioned here. It is an easy pocket pistol. Downside, the recoil is difficult to manage. This thing has to be rubberized or grippy taped.

    Price police??

I see your point. From my perspective there is a big difference between a person who is looking to sell at a fair market price and one who is looking to cash in on the panic. Perhaps there are some who were planning on selling a firearm anyway, and this just happens to be a matter of timing. Others who obviously scooped up a sh**load of lower receivers and Pmags when the CT shooting happened with the intention of selling them at a profit are slimy, subhuman scumbags and criminals to boot. The ones taking advantage of this are probably of the mindset that prices will normalize soon, which is why they are gouging now. An unethical tactic, no matter what market you're dealing in. If there is a ban prices will go up for reasonable purposes, but right now there is no ban. Just a bunch of opportunists looking to cash in. It is really poor form or the type of people I'm used to dealing with in the gun owning community.
  23. I tried to explain this to my wife as she is worried about he kids going to school and being shot. Somehow it doesn't register that your kids are far more likely to be killed by a teenager texting and driving than you are an active shooter/terrorist/lightning/vaccinations/icicles/Chinese toys/flammable Halloween costumes.... etc. Unfortunately, these are what the sensationalists focus on to keep people scared and tuning in. I can't go a month without a near death experience on the road from a tommy texter. Can't say that I've ever had a lunatic shoot at me on US soil.
IMO ... and out of respect for fellow TGO members -- I will not price gouge on these boards.  I'll offer up fair trades (like you can see in my gear classified ad's)   I think 2-3-4x MSRP should be put up on Armslist and/or Gunbroker.  I wish we could keep TGO sanctified to a certain extent :usa:   I have sold a few things for a premium on Gunbroker, but I have also traded fairly here on these boards.   This is a brotherhood community of sorts IMO, and I hate to see any sort of price gouging on here.   just my useless :2cents:
I would absolutely do the same, as one who has given away firearms, ammo and mags to family and friends in the past. The only issue I would have would be someone buying something with he intention of flipping it for profit (which has been mentioned by members in recent weeks, and is illegal to boot). That kinda stuff is bad form and unethical, in my opinion.
