1. I know of a former Denny's manager looking for work. From what I have experienced and have seen in the news, Denny's has always come off as gun friendly. I think this is just a case of someone's personal issues staining an establishment. I would be shocked if this individual still has a job. Hell, I would say that at least 50% of the times I've been in a Denny's there are cops having a meal. Granted, if I'm in a Denny's it is probably 2am and I'm trying to fight the future hangover.
  2.
I've watched ALL the Magpul courses on DVD! (even the one about shooting from a helicopter) The production quality is so good its like taking the real class. I practiced their re-loads and I'm so good now I can fling a magazine accross my living room.
Just curious, how do you manage a speedy mag change with one arm?
  3. On some level I hope this passes. From reading this it will outlaw 75% of firearms that folks own. If it passed it wouldn't last and would show just how ridiculous things can get when folks legislate with emotion rather than reason.
  4.
PC Load Letter
"...the f*** does that mean??"
  5. F*** Illinois if their people allow this to pass. I get that Chicago is hopeless, but Chicago doesn't speak for the rest of the state.
  6. I'd have to comatose to deny my wife sex, and even then I'm pretty sure I could still pull it off. Chicks remember everything. If I used this as a control tool, even once, I'd be hearing about it until I was on my deathbed.

    Good news on lowers

It really seems as if manufacturers and distributors are making an effort to ensure fair pricing during this lunacy. A shame that so many are taking advantage of that so they can make a profit on those that are actually wanting to purchase items, not turn around to screw their fellow gun owners.
  8.
He actually just said 3 years and he is 51 years old according to profile. I assumed he meant 3 years in a row, probably not 3 years ago Sent from behind my anvil in ye olde smithy
Oh, ha. Thanks for clearing that up. Guess I read that one wrong.
  9.
Hey now, some us are old you know!  Went to war with M16a1, back in 91.  It served me well.  While most of the Infantry units had a2s and M9s, us Engineers still carried a1s and 1911s.  Didn't get to fire an a2 or a M9 until a couple of years later.  The a2 impressed me!  I thought they hit a home run with it.  I wasn't impressed with the M9.  I've always preferred the 1911 over it.
Yeah, but he said three years ago. I haven't seen an A1 in the hands of a Soldier since '99, and that was a REMF Guard guy. Hell, you can't even get the correct ammo to fire out of an A1 anymore. M855 starts tumbling before 25m out of a 1/12 twist barrel. Seen it myself.
  10.
So, while I qualified "Expert" three years with the M16A1 rifle in the Army, I would rather have a different type rifle.
What underfunded, forgotten unit were you in that still had A-1's?
  11. I can't imagine Kim Jong without the phrase "damn you Hans Brix" or "I'm so wonery".
  12.
TN Gun Country located on 41A (Road gate 4 is on) is building an indoor range sometime in 2013.
I did not know this. Where they planning to put it at?
  13. Jammer's don't work that way. There is no garauntee that it will not effect signals outside of a prescribed area, and one has no right to limit cell phone use off their property, as has been suggested in other threads (ie:traffic). If a business wants to keep cell usage down they can put up a sign telling patrons to stow it, and if they don't, kick them out. A hell of a lot simpler than getting permission from the FCC to broadcast a jammer or building a faraday cage into your walls. I don't see why people get so worked up about other folks talking on the phone. Cell phones are hear to stay. Get over it.
  14. I'm on the hating Chicago bandwagon. I go there every couple of years and just think its bulls*** that they take away your option to defend yourself. I don't care if its the safest city in the world, the option to be able to defend myself with a weapon comparable to what criminals have should not be taken away when I enter he city.
  15. Yep. I carried IWB for a long time until I realized that no one is going to notice me carrying, and if they did I guess I didn't care. The only time I IWB carry now is if I'm going somewhere that I don't want people to notice. OWB is where it's at for everyday stuff.
  16. My issue is I don't care for folks who break the law so they can screw people who abide by it. That is going on right now and it gives me a dim view of some of the folks we have in the gun owning community.
  17.
My comment was not aimed at you good sir.  Sorry for the CORNfusion.
Oh, I just figured since I came off surly I was included. Just wanted to clarify I'm always like this. Carry on!
  18. No, I would have responded that way regardless of the times. The individual making the comment was being disingenuous or purposefully ignorant. Either way, to suggest that having commo does nothing in the realm of saving someone's life is incredibly stupid. If that were the case we wouldn't have 911, ambulances or fire trucks. What would be the point if you couldn't get a hold of them. Just plain stupid.
  19.
Not exactly the same. Unless YOU are a surgeon/doctor I doubt you or anyone reading this has ever had a life or death situation that could have been resolved with a cell phone.
Haha, okay pal. If I see you having a heart attack I'll remember not to whip out my cell phone and call 911 for you, since it would do no good in your opinion.
  20. If a person purchases a half dozen lower receivers then puts them up on Gunbroker only a few days later at a 200% markup, it doesn't take a genius to figure that one out. There are many folks on there selling several brand new firearms which surely were purchased shortly after the CT shooting. I can't prove it, but it would not be too difficult for the ATF to figure it out. Same for the folks who cleared out Walmart shelves only to immediately put those ARs up for sale and turn 1,000 in profit in a few days. That is a felony no matter how you slice it. That is much different than someone deciding they're going to use the recent spike in prices and offload some firearms for some more Christmas jingle. When you are doing it to turn a profit you are a business, and require an FFL. If you don't have one, you're committing a crime.
  21.
< What did we do before we had cell phones?
People often died from medical emergencies that could have been mitigated had there been communication to emergency services. What did we do before 911? What did we do before antibiotics? What did we do before an Internet to bitch about there being too much connectivity?
  22.
Just because something may be dumb doesn't make it illegal, nor should it be. Buying and selling a handful of guns doesn't make you a dealer. Buying and selling anything doesn't make you a dealer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was under the impression that purchasing firearms for the expressed purpose of reselling fora profit was a felony unless you have an FFL. Am I wrong?
  23.
yup it showed up while i was searching online for shooting range, still pretty far from post and my place.
If you live at Exit 1 it isn't any further of a drive than MCSC, since the range is directly off the interstate and 70mph speed limit the whole way. MCSC isn't exactly a straight shot. I go to both, but find the indoor one at 35 more convenient to get in and out of quick, since you don't have to wait for the range to go cold to reset your targets.
  24. I always think the same thing when I see those signs, only for some reason it's a Jap Zero in my mind.
  25.
Really good for bomb squads working on on a cell trigger
I'm certain that organizations that deal with such threats have such equipment available. I'm certain that they aren't too different than the ones we had downrange.
