1. What should be happening here is an enforcement of the existing laws.  It is illegal to sell to a felon, and generally a bad idea to sell to someone who seems shady.  I've seen this happen first hand at gun shows.  In fact, I was recently at one where a few "thuggish" looking guys were looking into purchasing several of the cheapest guns that a vendor had, making it a point to want to see what the cheapest 9mm handguns were and asking if they would have to do a background check.  Would you sell to them?  I would like to believe there are undercover agents at these shows that are rolling folks up on the way out the door, but I doubt that happens.  If existing laws were enforced then we wouldn't have to worry about punishing law abiding folks.    An OS makes a good point about the catalyst in all this.  These firearms used in mass shootings were either legally purchased or stolen.  In either case, taking away my ability to transfer private property to another resident of my state would not have prevented these crimes.  On a grander scale, we have gangland shootings which account for so much of the violence we see splashed across the papers.  I am willing to bet that none of those individuals legally purchased those firearms, and the folks who sold to them knew they were felons... most likely family members or close associates.  This is already illegal to do, so I don't see how restricting law abiding folks further will have any impact on this.   The answer, as always, enforce existing laws in order to reduce crime.  Stop making laws that only law abiding people will abide by to make up for the lack of enforcement.
2.     Considering that there is a law which forces NICS to destroy any information on an individual getting the background check I think this would be a hard task to acheive.  If I am forced to go to an FFL to do a transfer there is still the problem of the ATF tracking down where that transfer even took place.  Since many of my firearms were purchased online and shipped, I have a record at the FFL I picked them up from, but how is the ATF going to know where to look?  I guess the only way would be to track the chain of custody from the manufacturer, but one break in that chain and they are lost.
3.
a lot of special forces entry teams, mercs, use the straight to head shot method, thats more CQB than anything though...
Haha, only in video game world buddy.
4. None unless there is something to suggest you broke the law, such as the shot to his head being execution style as opposed to self defense. First, I don't think a detective with half a brain could assume that in a SD shoot you would have been cool and calm enough to make a well placed head shot. He'd probably chalk it up to luck. But if you find yourself in court, I suppose a prosecutor could say anything to demonize your actions, but that begs the question: why are you in court in the first place? But you could easily get an expert witness to testify that the chances of you making that well placed shot on purpose is slim. Once again, there are some people here that have exchanged fire with bad guys before. I am one of them. I do not believe that someone who is shooting at a person for the first time (assuming by surprise since we're talking about an SD shoot) will have/take the time to make a well placed head shot, let alone achieve that against an attacker who is trying not to get shot. You will likely do what everyone else does... shoot center mass of the largest target being presented to you.
5. Being a dumba$$, getting fired then publicly accusing two forum members of getting you fired (from a thread with nearly 4,000 views) deserves a public response. This thread is all about opinion. You don't get to come here and get pissy with your opinion then get indignant when someone calls you out for being unethical. That ain't how stuff works. If you decide to open your mouth about something, be prepared for someone to have an opinion on it. If you decide to brag about violating your employer's policies at a shooting supply retailer, understand that on a site with thousands of local members some of them may frequent said retailer... some may even know who you are. EDIT: I have yet to receive a PM from Dub in regards to the subject nor have I seen him publicly retract his accusations and apologize, so all comments on his character not only remain, they have clearly been verified.
6.
PKM
And a press to load the belts with.... not fun to do by hand.
7.
they just went up on there AR mags...used GI mags where listed for $99.97 last week now they are up to $129.97...a PIECE! not sure if these are the special mags that make your AR give off a plume of gold dust when fired or not... they have to be
No, these are "post Obama speech" mags. Once again, trying to add to the panic to turn more profit.
8. My cousin who is a big city LEO gave me his lower to build a tacticool rifle for work since his department allowed personally owned ARs that met certain criteria. When my father was an LEO he was issued a surplus M-16A1 by the state.
9.
he must make pretty good money not to be worried about how much he's paying for it... i just looked again for giggles and they went up 30 bucks on there used GI mags from 99.97 to 129.97 +/- cents
Wow, I must be sitting on a small fortune.
10. We just had a guy in Clarksville get rolled up for making shine in his house. Cops came out on a domestic and saw a few dozen mason jars filled with various flavors of moonshine. Apparently he gave it away to coworkers. Yet another reason not to slap your wife around.
11. Ha, if I just had to use a gun to defend myself I ain't disarming until I can see those blue lights. I ain't got no problem getting cuffed and stuffed until they sort it out, but I'm not going to take the risk of the perp not being dead enough or him having buddies.
12.
Be fun to pull the trigger on Ma Deuce, though. :D
You'd go broke just tuning the timing on it.
13.
Just for Fun what would be the first four weapons you would get if the NFA was repealed ?   my choices    1. 249 SAW
Haha, I saw the title of the thread and this is what immediately came to mind. I've seen semi-auto versions for sale before, so I figured if the ban on new machine guns ever went away I'd pick one up and just convert it. Super easy to do.
14.
That said rra has been hit or miss with me, pleased on some products (predator pursuit upper) and incensed enough on some to write letters and call (bolt with wobbly gas block from factory and a cracked new lower on another).
How in the world does a lower get "cracked"?
15.   I'll admit, they've been missing the mark for the last few months.  I know that they lean heavily to the left most of the time, so I blame it on the visceral hatred they have for the right... there's a line between funny and blatantly political that the left has a hard time with.
16.
I think they're making fun of us.....
Ha, this was the part of the article which made me decide to share.
17.   I ordered from them back in '06 and still had to wait almost 8 weeks.  I wish I would have scooped up a few RRA lowers in the past when I've seen them for sale.
18. C'mon, enjoy this one please.       http://www.theonion.com/articles/obama-paranoid-government-coming-for-his-guns,30638/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=standard-post:headline:default
19.
I don't know who it was for sure, I guess it doesn't really matter. I'm just going by the context clues. I admit that what happened was my fault, I should have expected someone to cry about it. Also, you don't know me. You've read a few posts on a discussion board, so your unsubstantiated opinion of me could not matter less. Do I make a few bucks when I can? Yes. I'm broke, in college, and have a wife and young child I'm trying to support. I can't fathom how that makes me immoral or a piece of ****, but think what you will.
You accused me of being responsible for losing your job and your wife and child suffering. This is why you are a sorry piece of s***. I don't know you from Adam, let alone have your name, phone number or do I have the inclination to write your employer. I warned you several pages ago that you could be fired for your actions. It is clear in your posts that such warnings only made you more agitated. Now it seems I was right for warning you and how do you repay me? You accuse me of getting you fired??? Perhaps you simply could have heeded my warning, asked nicely for folks to remove your quotes and kept your job. Instead you chose to be a d**k about it and the blame the guy who saw this a mile away and gave you plenty of warning. You can go to hell. I feel sorry for your wife and child that they have such a piece of garbage for a provider.
20. Haha, custom Walmart holster? Who comes up with this stuff?
21.
I'm shocked that a company would be brave enough to make an "official" video that expresses their own values that are so audaciously noncompliant with "mainstream" values (in the realm of commercial PR).
I'm pretty sure that company could put out an official video with an employee eating a baby seal then playing cricket with a spotted owl and it wouldn't hurt their bottom line in the least. On another note, was anyone else craning their neck to try and see around the censor bar? I still do that instinctively.
22. The warning is the locked door they're breaking in to. If they aren't smart enough to figure out what a locked door means at a private residence, they have earned that hot lead injection.
23. Walmart decides they're going to put effort into a good initiative and folks still find fault with that.  Geez.  Being pro-veteran is nothing new.   Want to hear about another thing Walmart does for members of the military?  When I was in the Nat'l Guard and conducted my two-week annual training, Walmart would pay the difference on the amount of income I would lose by not working in the store.  So, say that I would have made $500 more had I not been activated for duty and was working in the store, Walmart would pay me that $500 so I wouldn't experience any loss in income by serving my country.  Can you find many employers that would do that?  Being pro-vet is nothing new.  They do these hiring initiatives for veterans all the time when other companies won't do jack.
24. ] If you're accusing me of something feel free to send me a PM and I can clear it up. Otherwise, don't go posting accusations pointing the finger at me for why you're out of a job. The only person whose fault it is that you're unemployed is YOU. Whether the individual who notified your employer went too far or not, that is a matter of opinion. It ain't my style, but I hardly think he did anything wrong. The author didn't break any rules, you did. And considering he knew your name I can only assume he has patronized the store you used to work in and is familiar with you. Since I don't drive 5 hours to get my shooting supplies I'd say it safe I don't know who you are and have no desire to know. Once again, if you're going to make accusations about me, feel free to do it in private. The fact you're throwing such an unsubstantiated claim out there for everyone to see tells me what a sorry piece of s*** you are, and likely would have been canned eventually anyway.
25. I wouldn't sell that unless you really, really need the money.
