I never realized I am a life member of a "fringe group"
TMF replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I love the "question" from HuffPo... "are you willing to admit that the NRA is a fringe group?" Coming from a fringe group, that's ironic. Don'tcha think? Nothing these Antis say anymore surprises me.
I'm willing to bet there are more members of the NRA than there are subscribers to the Huffington Post. -

A fringe group.... one that outnumbers our nations military. How does one qualify "fringe"? -
Tried to access it from the opposite hemisphere. Sorry buddy, looks like the site no worky.

No rifle used in sandy hook shooting.
TMF replied to crashgordan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So a news report on 15 December claimed that no rifle was used despite the fact ALL reports afterward confirm that a rifle was used. So, either the earlier report (during all the chaos) was erroneous or this is a conspiracy involving thousands of people who all practice better OPSEC than any intelligence agency ever ever. If that is the case then this should be easy to believe: So a news report on 15 December claimed that the shooter's father was killed in the hours before the school shooting. So, either the earlier report (during all the chaos) was erroneous or the shooter's father has a body double who was already trained to have the same personality, demeanor and voice of the actual father and would likely be part of the same vast conspiracy. -
Doesn't really matter to me. Should I spell out "communist" or "commie". j/k David. Ben Shapiro, haven't read his books, but from his interviews, he claims that the right has claimed the moral high ground too often and needs to quit worrying about how the other side thinks. To win more people into voting we may have to stoop to their level on occasion. I can take that one way or another, but I agree with what he says. His arguments are valid. I'm not sure how over the top I go in my name calling. I guess I should re-read some of my posts.
I totally get it, when its folks like us talking around folks like us. The people I work with speak Obama's name like it might summon 1,000 years of darkness, but when spoken around folks that don't feel the same it comes off as childish and makes the person speaking look closed minded and ignorant. I think about my liberal in-laws and how they used to say Bush's name like it was a curse word. It used to make me mad and think of them as being ignoramuses, and even if the words following their insults actually made sense, it didn't matter because I already stopped listening.
Im sorry but what then what are you referring to?
To the exact quote I quoted. Having a recreationally tac'd out M1A Scout and AR with tough guy video and music of shooting said weapon, then making fun of dudes at the range doing the same thing doesn't make sense to me. Like I said, glass houses.
They are Boy Scouts and those are airsoft guns. No gov't conspiracy or foot on our necks because of this photo op.
That's not what the independent, unbiased news source cited above said. It's on the Internet and therefore has to be true, according to the law or something.

Why Is Adam Lanza’s Documentary History Missing?
TMF replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
So we get upset at all the initial reports and how they weren't verified, yet blasted across the airwaves anyway. So now you have a multi-agency investigation making a point not to leak data on the case until their investigation is complete, as not to spread unverified rumor, and it is suddenly a conspiracy that they aren't releasing every piece of information as they come by it? Which one is it? -
Do you know him? Do you know his safety habits or are you basing this off the video?
Not referring to safety at all.

There are two lines in the ones I go to, one needing to check guns, and one for those who don't. Never get asked in the non-gun line, so I don't even have to lie. The signs aren't statutorily compliant either. - OS
I know, I just get a case the Dudley Do-Rights when I see signs. I know I should ignore it, but I'm not as much of a rebel as I'd like to think I am sometimes.
MP5SD ppsh 41 (Dunno why other than it it was a cool gun to have in Call of Duty: World at War)
I had a few of these in Iraq. Hard finding a good drum that wouldn't jam a few times, but the rate of fire n this thing is unbelievable. I've never fired/seen a sub-gun with such a high cyclic rate. The only belt fed I've seen shoot that fast is an MG3. -
That surprises me a little. I've pulled the barrel on a DPMS for a friend, but never have shot one.
I had one made by Knights Armament I used to shoot a lot. Low recoil compared to any other semi-auto .308 and especially a boot gun..... think about that loooooong buffer tube compared to a M14 or FAL. It's a dream to shoot. I planned to own one some day, but it ain't looking good if a ban comes around in a couple of years.

So they just rewrote an existing law which no one (?) has been prosecuted under in its 40 year existence? Still, the original law seems shady. I have a hard time accepting that the ACLU is okay with this... never mind; I don't.
Are these 'gun checks' just for guns that are going to be sold/traded inside or ANY gun carried in? Never been to a gun show so I dont know..
No. All the shows I've been to lately won't allow you to have your carry weapon loaded. I forgot once and the guy checking weapons insisted that he unload it. I get why, but I don't know that person from Adam, let alone do I know whether or not he is familiar with the weapon system he is handling. I don't think this is anything new. People have NDs at gun shows all the time. The news is just reporting it now due to the recent events. There are always those folks at a gun show that treat them like toys and have no muzzle discipline.
