I stopped at the Wal-Mart in Oak Ridge they have some ammo in stock i needed so I was gonna pick up 2 boxes and the guy at the counter said limit 1. As in limit 1 box per caliber per customer. I promise if we get through this ammo crunch ill never buy ammo at Wal-Mart again.
What?? Sounds to me like they're taking action to prevent people from cleaning out their stock and reselling it for twice as much, which has been reported. Dolomite had posted that a LGS was cleaning Walmart out and doubling prices. I say good for Walmart for looking out for their customers.
Not gonna be that quick. They really are planning an all-out assault, and it's not ready.
Once this thing is killed it should set the tone. Short of an EO or continued bans in already ban-happy states I don't see them taking any ground where it matters.
Whats illegal about it?
Don't confuse "illegal" with "not carrying the weight of the law". The signage is not legal in the sense you can't be charged with a crime for carrying passed it. Not that I would want to carry passed it since it is clear the management there has an emotion of hate towards inanimate pieces of metal and plastic. How stupid. Why not just put up a sign that says "No Mass Shootings" or "No Armed Robberies Allowed"? It would be just as effective in stopping criminals.

I wish my Yugo SKS looked like that. Mine was tied to the back of a T-72 and dragged through the Ural Mountains.

The quicker that bill gets in and gets aborted the sooner prices will normalize and you'll be able to buy ammo and Pmags again.

Tiananman square activist turned 2nd Amendment supporter
TMF replied to Erik88's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I remember that dude, talk about guts or crazy that guy had it. I hope if the SHTF I would have half his guts although I may be a little more tactical about it. Well, as tactical as my old fat a$$ can be.
Well I think that is really the point in all this talk about ensuring the 2nd Amendment stays intact. In the absence of "tactical" options these acts of desperate defiance that are akin to suicide is all you have to fight with. Of course, if the state controls all forms of information going in and out, it makes these acts of defiance moot since it can't rally the cause when nobody knows what is happening. This is the defining reason the 2A is so important. The Chinese would have never pulled this stunt if the people had access to firearms. People would have revolted, set fire to those tanks and gunned the crews as they escaped. This is happening in Syria everyday. Libs and naysayers claim that the 2A is pointless since the military has tanks and airplanes anyway, but if you look at dozens of videos of the Syrian revolution you'll see that doesn't matter one bit. In my opinion it'll never come to that in this country, because our government wouldn't dare cross that line with such a well armed populace. The 2A is what keeps those options of ultimate tyranny off the table. Two generations down the road it may be a much different story. -
Yep. Enough will. I don't have access to their books but if it had hurt them after 2007-9 they wouldn't have done it again. "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public". - OS
Yeah, which is why I'm puzzled when CTD customers are shocked by their gouging during a panic.

2nd this. To the OP, this should have been one of the first things out of your NCO's mouth when you reported. Although the sales tax is high, there is no state income tax like NY. Change your HOR before the end of the month.

He didn't need to have his weapon exposed. His tats are enough to scare the average person and perceive him as a dangerous individual, even if in reality he is in his church's choir and makes his money as an even tempered florist.
I guess my question to them would be, is Cheaper than Dirt having to pay more for ammo?
Nope. They adjust their prices to market availability, so I wouldn't be surprised if they get some of their supplies by buying out other distributors to create more of a drought so they can jack up prices even more. So, if a manufacturer sells to them @ $.15 per round, they sell it at $1.00 per round because they know people are panicked enough to buy it. Unlike what some folks think, that is not the market setting the price, that is gouging. Any other retailer would be outed and boycotted if they did the same. Think about when Walmart first gets in some new gaming system and people wait outside for days to get a crack at it. If Walmart took advantage of the hype and charged 3 times the MSRP for the item, yeah people might buy it out of desperation, but is that ethical? Will customers just take that? Remember what CTD is doing right now. The panic will be over eventually and supply will catch up to demand. When that happens CTD will no longer be able to gouge. If folks keep patronizing them they ABSOLUTELY deserve the gouging that will come in the next panic. Remember, there are plenty of retailers and distributors right now that are continuing to sell at reasonable prices.

Ya, I'd take it back to the gun store you bought it from and have them get a smith to do it (on their dime) or send it back to the manufacturer. If you don't fancy the standard front sight block do what Dolomite said and just get a low pro gas block. Just don't shoot the thing until it is fixed. I'm betting after 15 rounds or so it'll shift around, and perhaps block the gas port or send gas escaping from beneath the block along with turning your AR into a single shot rifle.

Home Defense Weapon- Loaded Overnight?
TMF replied to superduty's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Spend 80 bucks and get a mini gunvault. I have one on the bed side table, finger grooves for the key pad so you can punch the code in pitch black. I can access that pistol almost as quick as if there was no safe at all. I have kids too, and despite all the training in the world, kids will do things they aren't supposed to do (I know, crazy, right?). Locking your pistol up will give you peace of mind. I have put up the shotgun for home defense due to the kids. I don't feel like I'm sacrificing anything, because while a 12 ga is a good home defense weapon, it's not as if the intruder will laugh at me when I shoot him with a 9mm, ya know? He'll either be tripping over himself to escape or he'll die in place. Be safe. Make sure your kids are safe. Don't assume they will do the right thing because you taught them to. Kids will do stuff the aren't supposed to, so anyone that bets their kid's life that they will do otherwise is rolling the dice. -

If the NFA was lifted and deemed Unlawfull tomorrow
Do NOT fire it from the hip!!! It ejects straight up and if you don't have the gun well in front of you, you will get a face full of very hot brass! Drums typically take a bit of tweaking and need to be loaded vary carefully to make sure the spring tension is right.
I had the drums that you pop the back off and load that way, then the spring releases when put the backing on. -
To me, it's as stupid as a neutral safety switch on a transmission. If you ain't got no more sense than to start you car in drive, maybe you shouldn't be drivin. Glocks don't need safeties. Only responsible owners.
Troublemaker.

This keeps happening because the media turns these animals into overnight celebrities, and folks looking to punch their ticket sometimes want to leave some legacy behind, even if it's infamous. The media perpetuates this, and they absolutely love it.
-
Celebrities wear it all the time. It is pretty mainstream now; enough that folks should not immediately assume only vets would wear it. Of course, the graphic on the clothing paired with being a military aged male probably is what leads to that conclusion.

I was in the market for a Glock and found one here. Lurked for a bit and noticed it was nothing like ar15.com, which I had been a member of a decade ago and was populated by Internet commandos and keyboard rangers. This was nice since everyone here is local and the site is well moderated. I got into it because I can't talk politics at home, so this place is my outlet.
There's not even a ban in place yet,and people are jacking up prices on everything. It's not just the dealers,it seems like everybody is.If a 30 rd. AR mag is $40 or so now without a ban,how much will it be if they ACTUALLY do ban them.People need to calm down .I've seen people asking $600 to $800 for a SKS.Come on! Jeff
I suppose if there was a ban the prices would still fall significantly from what they are now. I mean, I remember purchasing an AK in '99 for $250 and that came with 7 x 30 rd mags + ammo. Sure, that was sort of a deal, but it wasn't uncommon to see something similar go for not much more. Pre-ban stuff was more pricey, but not like now where folks are asking double and triple what they're worth.

But seriously, not sure specifically you're looking for. Maybe one of these weekend courses that get run by tac training companies would be best. If you're wanting training in your kit bag for SHTF (which I want to say is not likely) in the way of warfare type tactics, get a Ranger Handbook and a copy of FM 7-8. For someone who knows nothing of tactics, these books are good study guides.
I had a NC state ID but the DL office made me surrender it together with my NY DL, which confused me as hell. But they said I can't have 2 different ID/DL from different states. I did talk to the supervisor and they said that's how it is here  TN. My NC Permit is valid for 3 more years, but I can't use it coz I don't have a NC State ID anymore, I have a TN DL now.
Why would you need a NC state ID to validate your carry permit from that state? If I leave my DL at home, it doesn't invalidate my carry permit. Sounds like you have 6 months of validity, so you should be fine. If you're worried, call the DOS and ask, but be prepared for them to be a little confused at your question.
EVERBODY needs to put their broad brush away. I don't know ANY liberal that joined that crowd over gun issues. Most of the ones I know are from professional relationships that were developed over years. They KNOW I'm not the picture that's painted in the media. Sure, they are liberals and get their information from liberal sources. Doesn't mean they won't have an open minded discussion with me. Some of them have brains. I make progress most days. I'm just not as loud as the idiots on CNN
Haha, yeah, some of us have liberal wives at home!

Thanks for that. I pick up specialty beers at the liquor store every so often when I'm feeling adventurous, but sometimes am very disappointed and end up forcing down the remaining beers or sharing with my dog. I'll definitely give this one a try.
