Okay, well by that logic the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces has expressed his desire to ban most semi-automatic rifles and magazines with capacities over 10 rds (and he can sign stuff into law) so for those of you who are going to boycott Colt, Beretta, Brownells, Knights Armament, FN, Dillon and so on, feel free to send me your products from those manufacturers; I'll pay shipping. All those companies supply such products to the military.

Yeah, I'd like to believe we'd all stand together too, but then I consider the contrast between the consequences of dying or being severely wounded in combat versus becoming a criminal and not being able so support my family. At least when I was in combat I knew if I were killed my wife and kids would be covered by my life insurance and a monthly check, but getting rolled up with a felony record where I would have no hope of supporting them is a different story. I have no problem risking my own butt for the greater good, but when it's at the expense of my family it's a different story. Just a very crappy situation that is going to develop for us and there aren't any good choices.

Haha, I'm glad to see that our YouTube culture is ruining the youth of Uganda as well.

The Walking Stick Method of Self Defense
TMF replied to JAB's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Ha, like that awful 80's movie 'Blind Fury' where the guy had a sword in his walking stick? -
Actually it doesn't. A person is fully capable of firing a weapon toward someone while facing the other way. Look around on YouTube of MOST self defense shoots where the robber fired shots and the victim returned fire.. Especially those that take place in convenient stores. The criminals shoot as they're running away; backs turned and everything. Is that a valid shoot? Well, bullets aren't any less hazardous to your health when the attacker has his back to you. As far as I'm concerned, any reasonable person can articulate why an armed man with his back to you is still a threat. If he has already shown that he is armed I'm going to shoot him unless he is actively surrendering.

You can't make a point about the purpose and legitimacy of the Constitution to a crowd of folks who don't believe in the document in the first place. I'm beginning to believe that the majority view the Constitution as an obsolete document that should be rewritten. I've heard a person argue against its legitimacy based on the fact that some of the framers had slaves. This is the kind of hopeless dumbassery we're up against.

Another success story. Personally, I think it should be legal to use deadly force to get your stuff back from someone who won't willingly give it back to you, but in this case the robber shot at him, the manager returned fire an won. It doesn't really matter which way a person is facing when they shoot at you. I hear, according to physics, that bullets travel the direction they are fired, not the direction the shooter is necessarily facing. Give that man a medal. Feed the corpse of the deceased to pigs.

You'll regret telling the truth about Obama!!
TMF replied to KaNuckles's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Obama could eat a live baby on national television and it would not affect his approval rating. As long as I gots mine, everything is peachy. -
Law enforcement and military in those states don't make the laws, the elected officials do.

On another note, why would TTAG come in with a nuke round like this article to try and sway folks away from Magpul? Seems like they'd be losing a sponsor and an ally over a silly posting on arfcom. The article is even misleading in regards to mil/leo preferential treatment. Nearly every single gun/accessory manufacturer does the same and always has.

So Michele O presented the Oscar for best Picture?
TMF replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hope you are correct, and if you are it makes the message that much more demeaning to the Iranians, since she is a woman. I'm not sure if this is still the case, but for a while the PAO for the Navy's 5th fleet out of Bahrain was a female, so when all that stuff was going on regarding the Iranians threatening to close off the Strait of Hormuz she was the one issuing public statements which defamed their naval forces and promised to blow their ships out of the water. Some of those releases were very strongly worded, and I don't think it was a mistake putting a female in that position. It adds a great deal of insult on top of insult for them to have a woman talk to them that way. -
Where is all the outrage for blue label Glocks then? Give me a friggin break. While I admire the move by distributors to ban sales to agencies of states which ban certain items, I don't think a company choosing not to follow suit means they are "selling out". Magpul has taken a stance far and above any other firearms or firearms accessory manufacturer. They aren't bowing to the almighty dollar here, they just want to provide a quality product to those who serve, especially since those that serve likely share similar beliefs as most in the pro-2A corner.

I agree, but how many of us are willing to do that? These laws being passed around the country are really the nut up or shut up moment. If there is a widespread lack of compliance you would see an end to all this silliness, but I just don't think the gun owning crowd wants a criminal record. They got us by the short hairs and we're only left with two options, in my opinion. The option of voting these loonies out isn't an option any more. The majority no longer believe in the principles of the 2nd Amendment.

Civil disobedience would put an end to this nonsense without a single shot needing to be fired. Of course, what you're risking with that approach is the loss of your rights and a criminal history, so either everyone has to do it or no one. Ya can't go halfies on that, and unfortunately gun owners are statistically the most law aiding folks in society.

Anyone who puts my daughter in a burqa is going to get their ass kicked. I would absolutely take a ride in a cop car for that one.

So this guy is taking out his frustration that he'll never legally own a firearm again on the rest of us, huh?

Oh, well in that case they'd all look like Mexican generals after their first float. -
Private Sales May Be Next 2A Infringement
TMF replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Okay, I see now. For some reason I thought it was law as part of the Brady Bill, but I see it was just a DOJ after thought. -

According to current law those checks that are overturned must have the record of the background check destroyed within the next business day. -
Nice. This company is just awesome.

Nothing makes me feel better than turning on The Pentagon Channel and seeing some E-4 who has spent their entire military career in the Pentagon AV room having a stack of ribbons greater than mine, and I have one or two ribbons. The Army awards and decorations system has been designed to make POGs feel better about not being in the infantry, IMO. -
The 21ft rule - fail "these officers did not have to get cut"
TMF replied to mcurrier's topic in Training Discussions
I think the closest thing these officers have to a taser is a blow dart or maybe a witch doctor spell. -
I fly about a dozen times a year and would definitely risk going to TSA jail to get my Ray Bans back. Seriously, I would make a scene someone would record and put on YouTube.
