So that makes everything the TSA does in terms of assaulting innocent travelers okay? By that logic, police should be able to strip search anyone they want during a traffic stop, since there have been accounts of female offenders hiding switchblade knives in their snatches. If it saves one life.....

There are BFV all over the US... We own them. They've always been here. How does seeing some parked in a NG storage lot somehow prove anything other than we have BVFs?
-
What does the TSA do that private security can't, other than operate with impunity?

Neither one of the individuals is in the Navy.

Haha, may I submit to you Army Reserve Major Paula Broadwell... despite breaking about two dozen laws I'm betting she gets to walk away with her commission and retirement.

Yep, they sure fixed this country good the last 4 years. Can't wait to see how well it's fixed in 4 more. -
You're not cool until ya got some skulls, spartan logos and Latin writing of some sort..... lots and lots of Punisher skulls... for, um, all the Punishing one does.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I mean, I think it's a great idea to allow folks from other religions to be part of a religious group of another faith, but to be on the leadership council I would assume there would be a vote, which would make the concern of having a non-believer in a leadership position moot, right?

I don't know what the current rules are, but I know plenty of Army enlisted guys that are married to female Army officers. There are fraternization regs, but I don't know how they apply outside of unit and branch. Surely it can't be too restrictive considering the vast number of enlisted/officer marriages.

LEOSA Applies to Military Police
TMF replied to c.a.willard's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm going to do that for sure when I see him in a few weeks. My parents just took a trip up to New York and left their guns at home due to the carry laws. Seems silly if there is a method to legally carry in all those commie states. -

I'll have to explain this stuff to my dad. He recently retired from being an LEO and got his CCP shortly thereafter claiming that he needed it to carry now that he wasn't an LEO any longer. -
Black powder gun not considered a gun legally?
TMF replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
I've been in every type of combat situation one can dream of. I've literally had former al Qaeda fighters all around me armed with RPGs, AKs and belt Feds machine guns, and I was calm and okay with it. However, if I saw a guy walking down the street with a gun in his hand I'm probably gonna call the cops, because that's an indicator he is up to no good. If it was holstered that would be one thing. Just to put it in perspective, had this not been that particular model weapon would he have not been brandishing? Are cops supposed to know what a navy revolver looks like on sight or while driving past at 45 mph? How about the average citizen that isn't an expert in weapons identification? -

TMF replied to a topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
He did that intentionally to elicit a response from the police, ya know, because there is an expectation for the police to respond to a person walking around with a gun in their hand. The fact that he is quoting some obscure law from over 100 years ago hardly makes him a freedom fighter. The police acted reasonably for a MWG call. I could get in a speedo, cover myself with cooking oil and go running through the parks of Belle Meade screaming "I'm a pretty pony!", and none of that is illegal, but law enforcement are still going to investigate, because that ain't normal. Somebody conducting themselves like that just so they can get into a pissing match with police and show off their roadside lawyer skills is a douche of the highest order. -
Yeah, I was more talking about the agent's assessment that this could be made into a functional FA weapon. If the parts don't match up it ain't gonna work, and it appears that even if you put the correct parts in there it still wouldn't work because they wouldn't line up correctly.
-
Looking at the side by side it appears the fake lower is slightly shorter than the other, as in it wouldn't accept an upper. If it did the upper would be line up incorrectly which wouldn't activate the auto sear when the bolt was forward, not to mention the auto sear pictured wouldn't work with a real bolt. So for argument's sake, let's say that you need to acquire an actual auto sear, bolt and 3 position selector to make this work; how would that be any different then doing the same thing in a standard polymer lower?

Yeah, they were referred to as "hatton" rounds. Not very effective at all on metal doors. The problem is you're trying to knock out the latch that secures the door, but the way the metal frames are there is normally a 1/8 inch piece of steel protecting that latch; that round ain't penetrating that. The only alternative is to shoot the actual door just to the side of the handle in hopes you hit the part that joins the handle to the latch, but not only is that not reliable, there is a good chance it'll just seize up the latch altogether. The great thing about those doors is you can kick them in super easy 9 times out of 10. If not a battering ram to the hinge area will take it out quick.

Just like I can convert the neighbor's cat into a deadly anti-personnel mine by simply shoving C4 up its ass and wrapping the animal with ball bearings. Ban cats!

I agree 100%. I believe we should be able to have belt fed machine guns as well without having to pay a $200 stamp. The point I was making though is that Magpul isn't condoning the decisions of law makers by supplying their product to street cops. I get the sentiment of companies choosing to do that, and I respect it, however, I don't believe choosing not to follow suit makes them traitors or sell outs. I think if they could hit the libs where it hurts they would, and they are by moving a multi million dollar business and its tax revenue to another state.

The LE SBR'rd Mini-14s I've seen are a little longer than that one picured there. The one in this pic is shorter than I've seen done. I had a Mini back in the day that I outfitted an M-14 style suppressor/front sight and it looked pretty slick. -
I have one of the older Phantom suppressors with the scary jagged edge on it. When I was in the Army we'd put those on our M4s for muzzle strikes when subduing bad guys.
-
I agree. I spent a year looking for the right 1911 and kept coming back to the CDP II. The lightweight frame is what sealed the deal for me in the end.
-
That flash suppressor is enough to make a liberal wet his pants.

Those folks in New York should do a "million mag march" as soon as that law goes into effect. A crowd of 10K people, each holding a scary 30 rd AR mag could not be taken by law enforcement, and it would send a very, very strong message to the rest of the country.
