  1. I think the big government politicians are painting themselves slowly into a corner and don't take seriously the chunk of society that still clings to the remaining shreds of freedom we have left. Once you start doing what they're doing in Cyprus I don't think people will continue to have a non-violent disagreement over tax policies. I think that is about the time that folks won't care how American the tax man is; it'll be an us/them relationship at that point.
  2. It will be a very dangerous time to be an IRS employee if they pull that.
  3. Hmmm, why bother with facial recognition scanning when they can just troll websites to identify potential threats? Lets be honest, if there was going to be a mass conspiracy to collect a database of prepper type individuals it could be done in an air conditioned office with a handful of analysts as opposed to a labor/manpower intensive effort to collect personalities at gun shows and prepper expos. If we're going to talk conspiracies let's at least have them be grounded in some sort of reality.
  4.   Ha, I will admit that it is.  In fact, in my experience bang bang bang is less scary than bangbangbang or simply one bang.
  5. A full auto weapon is no more dangerous than a semi auto.  Libtards have been watching too many movies.
  6.   I don't know the legalities on that, but in a free country the answer would be "yes".
  7.   My pistol is geographically unavailable at the moment.  If you give me a couple weeks I can send a pic to you.  Unfortunately I never took a picture of it.  It does look good though.
  8. Hmmm, I had mine done in a satin stainless color (cerakote) and it turned out well.  I've only put 300 down the pipe since, but it held up well. so far.  Looks pretty sharp too.
  9.   But hollowpoints explode on impact causing mass casualties and fist sized exit wounds.  I can't think of a scarier weapon used against us.
  10.   I agree with the sentiment here, but I look at this as incrementalism.  If we get a foot in the door to lifetime permits perhaps it'll make it that much easier to get a bill introduced for all of us.  Much like many of the other pro-carry laws that have been passed in the past few decades.  They started out small, and when folks took note that the world didn't end because ordinary people can carry guns, things opened up more for us.  The end state should be consititutional carry.  If we achieve that we have won a huge chunk of the fight.
  11.   Well I think that is true no matter the times we live in.  When I was in the Nasty Guard we trained for riots and such.  As I recall much of it was geard toward LA style type riots, not peaceful demostrations.  No matter, it is diligent for them to train for such things since that is a potential mission they are deployed for.  If I was a commander of a NG infantry battalion, that is one of the main things I would focus training on, in addition to war time roles and disaster relief.  If I didn't I would be derelict.
  12. Yeah, no one wants to end up on the dunce board for arresting someone for a crime that doesn't exist.
  13. I remember being in Iraq sometime around 04-05 and getting letters from an elementary school class from anywhere, US.  Some of them had drawn pictures of Soldiers holding weapons and such.  Makes me wonder how 10 years later that is an offense worthy of suspension or expulsion.  Americans are losing their minds.
  14.   Just like some students might misuse their brains when they are allowed to think for themselves.   Really, I was never this stupid at that age.  I can only assume children are just being lobotomized as they come out of the womb since they are incapable of thinking critically.  Kids might misuse guns?  Of course they would, but would the type of person who would misuse that firearm for crime be the same person who would obey any laws regarding the possession of said firearm in the first place?  Jesus, these people act as if the penalty for carrying a weapon would prevent someone from committing a murder, when the penalty for murder is far greater than the crime of illegally carrying/possessing a firearm.  Why are there so many stupid people?  Why is it so difficult to understand that anyone intending to misuse a firearm will not obey the laws in the first place, therefore making any concerns about safety against armed attackers moot?  How many more mass shootings in "gun free zones" do we need before they get it through their thick skulls?.... Gun free zones mean only criminals will carry guns in those zones.
  15.   Ohhhh, you know the answer to that question.
  16. Well, I also believe it is my right to grow a bunch of marijuana plants in my back yard and smoke its buds 'til the cows come home, but exercising that right will get me thrown in jail just as quick as carrying a firearm without a permit.  As far as I'm concerned folks have the right to own machineguns and artillery peices.
  17. Enticing people to break the law is lazy police work.  It does nothing to curb real crime which involve real victims, it just makes folks feel good that they're putting a person in jail who broke the law, while ignoring the fact that they wouldn't have broke the law without the encouragement and enticement of the LEO that arrested them.   The FBI has had a few "home grown terrorist" plots they've "foiled" over the years, but when you hear the facts of the case it is just a person who talked a lot of smack on the internet about jihad, then was approached by an asset, taught how to make bombs by said asset, then provided bomb materials by that asset.  What have they prevented?  There are real active threats out there they need to focus on, not entraping folks then patting themselves on the back for saving the day and averting a disaster which would have never taken place anyhow.  Doesn't make sense to me
  18. Hmmm, not sure how I feel about this one.  As a veteran I don't believe there should be a distinction between myself and non-veteran citizens when it comes to rights.  The conflict exists for me since I don't believe carrying a firearm should be a privilage, I believe it should be a right.  However it isn't, so I guess any forward progress on making carry permits more accessible is a plus, although this would only apply to some.  The endstate should be constitutional carry though.

    Pope Francis?

Perhaps we should start with helping the sick and suffering, then see where it goes from there...
  20. Please understand that your request will be met with skepticism, since most common sense folk know that a simple photo can be made to project good or bad, depending on the photographer.  I'm no professional photographer, but if Ghandi was still alive I could take seemingly innocent photographs of him during a set which could make him look like a saint or make him look menacing.  Now, you're talking about photographing gun owners in their homes for the purpose of a private project of yours.  I assume you understand how easily one could make us responsible gun owners who believe in the right to use force to protect ourselves and our families look like gun toting lunatic vigilantees.    The fact that you're from New York doesn't help your cause.  I know that not all New Yorkers are pants wetting hoplophobes, but it is one of the big 3 states that believes in removing weaponry from the hands of law abiding citizens.  I can only assume that the majority of your citizens fit the category of pants wetting hoplophobes since they keep getting elected there.  So again, forgive our skepticism; it is only because, in the south, common sense is still pretty common.
  21.   But just think, if we get universal background checks we will see numbers up in the double digits!  What a difference we can make!  And if that isn't satisfactory, we could just register all guns in the US so that the system works better.  Of course, we'll have to make non-compliance with the registration a felony so those pesky, otherwise law abiding citizens can be put behind bars where they belong.
  22.   They look just like my Bulgy AK-74 mags; hopefully the quality is as good or at least near as good.
  23.   Too bad I guess?    It's not that I'm trying to be insensitive, it's just that I don't see how the private interests of those businesses should dictate law.  I don't care if it's a big company or small mom & pop business.  That argument is like the argument about shrinking the TSA and how it would put so many people out of work despite their existence being pointless and obsolete.
  24. This makes me think of all the times I drove across country in white gov vehicles and made innocuous stops for fuel, lodging and food.  I musta just been freaking people out thinking I was going to put them in rail cars and ship them off to FEMA camps.
  25.   Well that would be hard to say.  There are unconfirmed sources within the DHS who claim that they are getting ahead of the budget cuts.  Makes sense to me.  When you know the hammer is about to fall it would make sense to stock pile; isn't that what folks here do?  Isn't that part of the reason we're experiencing the great ammo pain right now?    Besides, I'm not certain exactly what Obama can do with a bunch of airport security guards and a border patrol that isn't even large enough to seal the border.  According to all the revolutionaries out there, if Obama farts in the direction of the 2nd Amendment everyone is going to take up arms, in which case the DHS would be outnumbered something to the tune of 100/1.  But if I'm just all wrong about this and Obama declares war on us citizens, I'll invite you all to my house for training on how to defeat 1/2 million dollar non-tracked armored vehicles with $2 of supplies.  (Hint: it involves gas and matches)
