The 21ft rule - fail "these officers did not have to get cut"
TMF replied to mcurrier's topic in Training Discussions
Because a week before this video was taken they had bones through their noses. -
Sometimes I find it hard to believe the things he says are for real, but they are. He is literally saying we need to sacrifice freedoms for security. He isn't even sugar coating it anymore. Plus, he's saying it in such a way that he suggests if we don't then the terrorists win. How effing nuts is this guy? Isn't the whole point that we don't change our way of life or restrict our freedoms due to the actions of terrorists?

Bounty Hunters Break into Home Against Will of Homeowner
TMF replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, I'd say there's a pretty big difference in how I would react to a sworn officer as opposed to a dirtbag showing up on my doorstep wanting entry. I'd tell an officer "no", but if he demands entry under the threat of being cuffed and stuffed I'd comply and deal with it later with a lawsuit. I'm not shooting it out with the Popo unless free elections have been suspended and we are no longer governed by elected leaders. However, if some dirtbag claiming to be a bounty hunter wants access to my house I'm gonna say "no". If he forces entry he's in for some lead poisoning. Perhaps if your name was on the bond paperwork it means they can search your place, but how on earth are you to verify that some dirt bag looking dude has that authority? I'm willing to bet that a person who isn't harboring a fugitive but IS on the bond paperwork could articulate how they were in fear of their life or the lives of their kids as a team of armed strangers are forcing entry. Hell, there have been plenty of cases where folks have been found justified for shooting law enforcement officers who did not properly identify themselves or were in the wrong place without a warrant to be there. -
So, I'm not educated on the powers that these esteemed Bobo Fats have under the law, but how are the things they do legal? If some folks came to my door looking for a "perp", demanded entry, then forced entry they'd die of lead poisoning on my front porch. How come that doesn't happen to these cows? Great for the politically motivated ladies looking to engage in civil disobedience... fight the power!

Guess that means Sunday BJs are off the table here.

Ryobi is the cats ass. Bought one about 6 years ago and it has run like a champ always. It sat unused last year since I was out of town and we used a lawn service, so it hadn't been run in 18 months. I filled it up the other day, cranked it and it ran great..
Take a photo from your home and have a member of the US military point a rifle at you. At least, I presume that's who he is since the vehicle is a Humvee and it says "military police" on it. People spend time ad nauseam talking about FEMA trucks waiting to take over the country, but nary a word about this use of the military to deal with a domestic law enforcement issue. This is the danger of the "war on terror" since it essentially gives the federal government to render a criminal incident a "terror attack" and ignore the Bill of Rights and the Posse Comitatus Act. There is a reason the military are not allowed to carry out civilian law enforcement duties and this is why. Military rules of engagement are quite different than civilian law enforcement and the Bill of Rights is not something considered in training soldiers to fight a war.
Not a snowball's chance in hell that porker is an MP. Not just because he is obviously out of regs on weight, but there is no way a unit would be activated and their chain of command would allow them to run around in non-standard uniform and gear for such a high-vis event. If anything they'd be in full battle rattle to include the dome of obedience. My guess, those vehicles were borrowed by law enforcement from the Nat'l Guard since they wanted armored vehicles and the Guard was the only ones with enough of them. Te driver is likely the only military personnel involved, -

The interrogation has nothing to do with law enforcement though, it has to do with collecting information to develop intelligence. If he gets charged he can still get his speedy trial and all. I don't see this being a negative precedent since the interrogation would be independent of the criminal investigation. They are two completely separate issues. He will get a fair trial, he will get a lawyer and anything he says before that happens can't be used against him. He is not being held indefinitely without being charged. I'm really looking for a problem here and I don't see one. -
From what I hear Clermont has been taken over by Orlando. I haven't been down there since the 90's but it was still small town when I was there. I moved to Sanford to be closer to 417, which was just awesome to be able to skip I-4, and I don't even want to think about what 50 is like there now. There were some nice non-ghetto options on Hwy 46 on the west side of I-4 away from Sanford, City of, which is still minutes from the 417.

I'm still not clear what rights will be violated by him being interrogated. He still will get a fair trial. Anything he says prior to access to an attorney can't be used in court, so where is the issue? -
Where to? I grew up just north of there.

Well that sucks. Once his lawyer gets hold of him we'll get nothing useful. That means the folks really behind this bombing will sleep safe. -
Yard work complete. Kids fed and napping. Now for siesta sans beer... looks like some JD just for GP.

Crap, I guess I'm always in Kroger in the morning.

This is going to sound like complaining, because it is, but could someone remind me what the purpose of this law is? What are we accomplishing by making it illegal to sell beer on Sunday? Since I have multiple young children, one of them still in diapers, leaving the house is an operation one has to backwards plan for at least a half hour before leaving. It is not as simple as hopping in the truck and heading down to the stop and rob. I was realizing this last night as I made plans to do yard work today. I like to have a couple beers during the course of my yard work, however I do not have any beers in the house. I thought of heading out last night to grab some, but it was already late and I had about a million things that needed to happen to get the kids to bed. By the time I was able to settle down it was 8:30 PM, which, in my world, is far too late to be out. I knew I'd have to hit up the gas station in the morning to get fuel for the mower and I thought about how convenient it would be if I could go inside and just get a 12 pack, but since it would be Sunday I'd be screwed. Maybe this is poor planning on my part by not getting beer the last time I went grocery shopping, but I shouldn't have to plan days in advance to purchase something due to a law that shouldn't exist in the first place. I have a hard time believing that the majority of Tennesseans agree this law should exist, so why does it? There is no law against drinking on Sunday, so what's to keep a person who plans better from drinking the beer he purchased on Friday? What is this law preventing other than my contentment?

Anti's to go after black and smokeless powder next...

And if these guys had wanted they could have made their own explosives from stuff bought at their CVS which would have blown better and caused more injury and death. Once again, you can't prevent evil, you can only react to it. As long as man has his imagination he will be capable of killing mass amounts of people regardless of any feel good legislation our whorediots in DC pass. -

That was the first thing I switched out on my Kimber. I got one with the beveled magwell extension. -
For all we know the teacher spouted off some anti-gun Obama phrase in response to the t-shirt and then the kid cursed the teacher and said his daddy would come down and kick his ass. We don't know since we have only heard one side. Chances are the teacher did something off par, but I have a sneaking suspicion that the kid did worse on account he was charged. I guess it doesn't matter what comes out in the wash, because the title of the article has already told readers what they need to believe without providing all the facts. I don't like that when it comes from the libtards just like I don't like it when it comes from the right.

Unimpressed with police work in Boston
TMF replied to jgradyc's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
"Usually" as in most every manhunt ever in recent history. This is why we have things like Amber Alerts. The civilians are about 1,000 times more likely to spot the guy before a police officer, but yes, I guess all those Boston cops should turn in their badges since they didn't spot them first. Amateurs the lot of them I tell ya. -
Agree. Read the story yesterday and thought the same. The headline grabs you, but based on the charge I have a feeling there's more to the story.

TMF replied to jgradyc's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Because that's how it usually goes. There were only a few thousand police officers actively searching compared to nearly 1 million civilians keeping their eyes peeled as well. I'm no numbers genius, but it seems more likely that he'd be spotted by a citizen before police. -

That's not what I mean about "controlled environment". I don't doubt that is one of the most secure places in the country right now.
