1. Said George Washington to the newly arrived martyr: "... No! It's 72 Virginians MF'er! Get the tar and feathers Jefferson! We got us some fresh meat."
2. I got one of those S&W M&P air pistols just to see how I liked the grip and feel of it since so many folks rave about them. If only the trigger pull on an air pistol didn't suck.
3. I think the difference between hoarding and well stocked is whether the amount you have is for the purpose of shooting and preparation versus just acquiring for the sake of acquiring. I don't think you can put a number on that since it would vary from person to person. For example, my number for .22lr was one brick on hand. My opinion on that has changed, drastically. My number for 5.45, 5.56, 7.62 and 12 GA hasn't changed though. A double basic load on hand minimum that stays untouched, and the rest for shooting.
4. You're profiling, racist!
5. Didnt think they had legal carry there.
6. The best satire is when one can't distinguish between it and the truth.
7. I went and bought an air pistol. Scalpers can go f--- themselves.

9. Eh, looks to me like there are no good guys to root for here. This guy appears to have been trolling for contact with his behavior when approached. The cops were incredibly unprofessional and wrong (dare I say abusive) with threats to charge him with various crimes although he had not committed a single crime. Being a dick to the cops is not a crime, but it doesn't win any points with me. He surely does not deserve 3 mil. Maybe an apology and a case of beer. The cops involved deserve remedial training and latrine duty for a month.
10. Haha, I sense a little more emotion than usual.
11. Sounds like this guy went fishing, but if unlicensed OC is legal the cops don't have a leg to stand on for their actions.
12. This is another reason I wouldn't feel comfortable OCing. Even with a great retention holster I would constantly be nervous about having people behind me, such as standing in line somewhere. I realize that a lot of stars would have to align in order for something like that to happen but it would make me nervous nonetheless.
13. Texting and driving is more dangerous than drunk driving as a whole. At least drunk drivers are normally out after hours. I have to dodge text-happy soccer moms with my kids in the car. Saw one on the interstate pass me the other day going 80 mph and swerving as he approached and went by. Saw him in the rear view doing the "up-down" as he texted. People like that are a way bigger danger. At least drunk drivers are paying attention, albeit impaired.
14. Same here. My wife's car has a 120K bumper to bumper warranty, so I'm gonna make sure to follow instructions as not to void said warranty.
15. Brought this up with my liberal in laws while they were visiting. They could care less, and they believe this is all just a smear campaign by the evil conservatives. Obama could kill and eat a baby on live television and at least 1/3 of this country wouldn't care or figure out how to blame it on Republicans. At least half this country doesn't care about these very abuses taking place. While I'm all about giving a corrupt politician a black eye when it's warranted, I fear the only thing to come of this will be vindication for those who knew this was taking place all along.
16. Hey, don't ruin our fun. That's what the terrorists would want.
17. Last I heard he was practicing his nonsense in Kentucky because he can't carry here.
18. Jesus says to turn the other cheek. He did not resist his own murder at the hands of the Romans. I don't claim to be Jesus nor do I have the luxury of sacrificing myself or my family for the sake of conscience or sin. Besides, it is man's interpretation of God's words to say that (all) killing is a sin, to include self defense. I'll leave that judgement to God. Man can STFU.
19. I've dealt with folks with this issue. We had one in infantry school that had to have it beaten out of him. I thought it was just a case of the dummies, but I've come across so many that have this issue. Seems like an impossible problem to definitively "fix"; either learn to overcome it or keep shooting wrong eyed. It looks incredibly unnatural but I've seen folks make it work.

AK and AR pistols

Yes I am. I'm a bang for your buck kinda guy, so losing that muzzle velocity makes me feel cheated, as silly as that sounds. Keep in mind I have four 5.56 rifles, so I'm not fundamentally opposed to the cartridge. Good conversation though and hopefully contributes to an educated decision for the OP.

AK and AR pistols

I was more interested in dispelling one of those common "gun forum myths" that short barreled AR's don't have enough energy to be anymore useful than a .22WRM, or that they only good "just for fun" which is simply not true. In my opinion & experience a 55 grain bullet, pushed out of a 7.5" AR barrel @ 2,350fps (average fps between the 2,200-2,500fps range previously posted) is still quite potent,
I'm a little skeptical of 2,500 fps with standard store bought 55 gr ammo. Not trying to call you a liar, I just haven't heard of something burning that efficient. What I was offering was my reasoning on why I went AK over AR. Based on the numbers an AK is only losing 5-10% of its energy going from a standard length barrel to a short barrel. 5.56 is losing 20% or more. That was the defining reason. I realize that isn't a big deal to most, but it was for me. On the .22 mag, the reference is to the size and speed. Yes, 5.56 out of a short barrel is faster, but close enough for me to compare the two, especially when you calculate energy. If I was going to do an AR pistol I would be doing it in 6.8... if ammo ever comes available. Lastly, when oiling myself up and donning '80s era Soviet camo pants whilst yelling "wolverines", it isn't the same with an AR pistol.

AK and AR pistols

And 7.62 leaves my 10 inch barrel almost as fast as that 5.56 and weighs almost three times as much. The point of my post was that the muzzle velocity you lose from going from 16 to 7-10 inches on a 5.56 rifle is far more drastic than going from 16 to 10 inches on a 7.62. I only lose about 100-150 fps whereas someone with a 5.56 is losing anywhere from 300-500 fps. A 55 gr round moving at 2,200 fps is comparable to a .22 magnum which can move out at around 2,000 fps on a 40 gr round. Dunno, seems to make sense to me. Doesn't really matter to most people what the round performance is if they're shooting paper for fun. My AK pistol is a SHTF back up.

AK and AR pistols

Well they're coming down in price finally. I'm pretty happy with mine. Nice and small, fits great in the truck better than my full sized AK.

AK and AR pistols

The thing that drove me to an AK pistol vs an AR pistol was the loss of muzzle velocity. You lose so much muzzle velocity on that 5.56 that it is a .22 mag that makes a lot of noise. Nothing wrong with that at all. They're still a lot of fun, and they are easier to customize with cool parts. I wanted something for a SBR project/truck gun. The AK made more sense since it wasn't losing much muzzle velocity yet came in a smaller package.
