You know how some folks get after downing some Skittles. Usually how folks start a crime spree. -

Those two question a justified shoot does not make... at all. There are plenty of murderers behind bars who were in a situation where broth sets of criteria were met. I referenced one already in this thread. If you or any other HCP holder believe that these two questions alone make or break a justified shoot you'd be dead wrong. -

I bought my 20 inch Mossy 500A with 7+1 capacity for less than $300. I don't recommend getting some off brand to save just a few bucks.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
TMF replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
That was not my question. The officers investigating this shooting recommended charges be filed. Most folks here are stating that this was a good shoot and no charges should be filed, and were only filed due to race outrage. If this is true, then why would the officers investigating this recommend charges LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGG before Sharpton and Jackson showed up to stir the pot??? Perhaps some of the LEOs around here can give an idea as to how often DAs choose not to follow the recommendations of investigating officers. I always got the impression that they tend to follow the recommendations. The original DA could have just as easily filed charges based on the recommendations from investigating officers, and then what would everyone's opinions be? I guess what I'm saying is folks who keep focusing on the original DA as proof that there is no case here are COMPLETELY ignoring the recommendations of the original investigating officers who disagreed with the DA. It happened, like it or not. Ask yourself why before you jump on the bandwagon that Zimmerman's actions were legal and justified. -

So, perhaps I misunderstood... If the only reason he was charged was community outrage over race, why did the investigators recommend charges before any of the outrage took place? Seems to me if the DA was someone different Zimmerman would have been charged before any of this became news. -
Go to VRBO.com. I use it all the time for home and cabin rentals when I travel. Sometimes as cheap as a hotel room except I get a house with a yard.

Well I think that is a different case entirely. If one kid makes inappropriate sexual advances anywhere (scouting/school/sports) I would want action taken against the offending youth, but that isn't what is being discussed here. Your operating on the assumptions that them gays can't keep it in their pants. Granted, I've only worked with a few gays (that were out of the closet) prior to entering the military, and none of them were the "in your face" types. It leads me to believe that the stereotypical screaming queens aren't the majority. Either way, since sexual orientation and related subjects are inappropriate topics in terms of scouting curriculum, it shouldn't be an issue that rises, and if it does should be addressed and quashed.

If their rules support it by all means, but I have a feeling this will fracture the organization along those lines. Personally, I just can't imagine telling a parent or child they are being removed from scouts because they don't like girls. I would feel very poor about myself if I were in that position.

Well this was a private organization. If the owners of Chick-fil-A come out tomorrow and decide to become a non-profit in support of gay marriage it would be the choice of the organization. BSoA did NOT have to change their policy. They put their funding over their convictions, plain and simple. They could have just as easily decided to exclude gay youths, but they didn't. Kinda like chicks who blow their boss in order to get a job. Yeah, they might not have gotten the job unless they went to their knees, but it was them who choose to kneel and abandon their dignity.

How ya gonna build your TGO billet lower?
TMF replied to Caster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Gotcha. I hadn't been following the other thread so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. I'm in no great hurry. I already built a rifle on a different lower last month and will simply switch out lowers when this one comes in... or I will build another one which would officially make me an AR hoarder. -

You're right, I'm assuming. Based on my knowledge, experience and what has been released regarding this case, my educated assumption is that Zimmerman initiated and/or escalated this confrontation whilst carrying and knowing he would end this with his firearm if it turned physical. I'm not a prosecutor, defense attorney, juror, judge, DA or law enforcement officer, so the onus is not on me to provide proof or evidence. It's called an opinion. Your life experiences may cause you to come to a different conclusion, and I'm okay with that. The thing that drives me nuts is folks who willfully refuse to acknowledge that the possibility exists that the victim here is the deceased; it shows prejudice. I'm more than willing to accept the possibility that Trevon went out with the intention of being some bad boy gangbanger and assaulting poor white Hispanics with Skittles. I just don't believe that is the case. In fact, before all this blew up and I was following this as a local story, I made the assumption Martin was up to no good simply based on the location and the incredibly biased story written by the Orlando Sentinel. My opinions changed as more info came out. If more info comes out in favor of Zimmerman I'm prepared to accept that too. I don't think this character assault has any bearing on what happened that night. -

Do you have intel? I haven't seen anything on who will build it or what it would look like. -
Yep, he's posted about it on Facebook before.

Do you really need to change your oil every 3,000 miles?
TMF replied to Volzfan's topic in General Chat
I change mine between 4-5k. The owners manual on my truck says 7.5k. I went just over that amount once (took me a year to rack up that mileage) and the old oil that came out was awful. I don't like the idea of old funky oil in my engine, so I change more frequently than needed. I plan on driving my truck for the next 14 years or until the democrats ban them, whichever comes first. -

Yeah, I'm no expert either but the definition of 2nd degree murder does not fit the evidence we know of currently. Even if Zimmerman did indeed initiate the confrontation with the knowledge and intention to use deadly force to end the confrontation it still doesn't rise to the level of 2nd degree murder. I figure there will be some sort of witness testimony that we are yet unaware of, otherwise he will be found not guilty of 2nd degree murder. For those who think that initiating confrontation then shooting a person when in fear for your life is legal, you should REALLY familiarize yourselves with cases where that happened and the individual was RIGHTLY convicted of murder. Most recently I can recall the case where a guy picked a fight with three dudes, then shot them when they started kicking his ass. Undoubtedly I will be in fear for my life if I'm getting curb stomped by three dudes, but if I started the fight none of that matters. I don't see what it is so damn hard for folks to swallow that. If it was okay I (in theory) can go around picking fights with 7ft 300 lb dudes, then shoot them as soon as they take a swing. Whether or not who swung first doesn't matter, it boils down to intent. -
Sure that is part of it, but I don't see how folks don't find the fact that there is more ammo available through private sellers than EVER before even a little suspicious and wrong... At a cost several times more than available retail. Suspicious indeed.

For second degree murder they must have some sort of evidence that we aren't aware of, otherwise I'd not cast a vote to convict (based on what we know). Manslaughter though, I believe the evidence will point to that and his attorneys will have to make a pretty good argument to get him out of it. -

Reminds me of when my kid gets ahold of my iPad. -
In my opinion I don't think Jesus would shun gays. However, I was at the park yesterday with my kids and saw an incredibly unattractive lesbian couple swinging their child on the swing set. The thought of them holding hands and being intimate really grossed me out. So we need to do something to keep those people separate... ya know, because of MY comfort level. It's the 'Merican way!
-
Rog, but the few ammo outlets left that are selling for a decent price are cleaned out too. I guess it'll be moot here in the near future since things will be getting back to normal soon, but for right now I can't go anywhere in town and get the ammo I want, yet there is more ammo advertised on Armslist than ever EVER before.... you don't at all find that odd?

Well if it's that cut and dry and factual this should be a speedy trial after you give your factual testimony as to what exactly happened.
