Just a few of them though, right? Is there a chance that we hear bad cop stories more in the news because it garners more interest from readers as opposed to a headline stating that Officer Joe executed his duties appropriately and with respect to the citizen? Isn't this the tactic we blame the media for in regard to always running stories depicting gun use in a bad light and ignoring stories of justified self defense?

Armed March on D.C. called off
TMF replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Jane Fonda had some great fitness ideas, but I'd be damned if I'd work out with her. This guy is poison to our cause and is funded by commies. Whatever his motivations are I can guarantee they don't resemble our own. -
They'll all be lesbians though once their minds are corrupted. Try to keep up.

Someone resurrect the thread where TGO members were defending this lunatic as a patriot. -
I always wondered what the rule was for having OC while drinking. I've done it but never researched it. Figured it wouldn't be an issue unless I used it.

No one has answered my question regarding how this policy will change anything in regard to how scouting activities are conducted.

Must a person take a butt whoopin before you pull a firearm?
TMF replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I think this scenario is very, very different than instigating a fight then pulling your gun. If someone tries to pull me from my car and I can't get away I'm gonna open up on them. -
The few Brits I've met over the years think our rights to own firearms and other weapons are ludicrous. I can only assume they believe the right to free speech is in the same category. I'm sure there are many Brits that wish they were free, but I don't believe that is a significant portion of their society.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
TMF replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Huh? Is this another vast conspiracy that everyone is in on to include the jury and all the prosecuting attorneys? To what end? For whom? -
I've been in many. I've been drawn down on more times than I can count and fired on once by friendlies. I don't trust someone hopped up on adrenaline and a finger on the trigger to make a well thought out decision. I expect him to shoot at me if he doesn't know who I am, which puts the onus on me not to present myself as a potential target. Two unarmed women were engaged with over 100 rounds of ammo from nearly a dozen police officers for simply driving down the street. Anyone who thinks they're gonna jump in to a shooting to help out the Popo without being colocated or properly identified is a damn fool.

How ya gonna build your TGO billet lower?
TMF replied to Caster's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Just wanted to add that I, sure as everyone else, appreciate the folks behind the scenes working to make this happen. I assume it would be pretty frustrating to put the work into something and get folks excited only to have someone you trusted pull the carpet out from under you. Sucks to hear. Thanks for your effort. -
They HAD to? Says who? There seems to be a lot of suppositions here regarding things the BSA absolutely HAS to do. They don't HAVE to do anything. They could tell the pro-gay lobby to f*** themselves. They could choose to ignore that homosexuality even exists. They could decide that sexual orientation and the subject of is not relevant or appropriate for scouting activities, thus making any policy for or against homo membership moot. Who is holding a gun to anyone's head here FORCING them to do anything? For those upset with the new policy, you should direct your anger at the BSA, not the folks that wanted the policy changed. The way I see it the BSA either abandoned their convictions under pressure or decided that gay scouts deserved to be in the organization. I would assume that either scenario is unacceptable to those who oppose the policy.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
TMF replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I bought sudafed the other day. God forbid someone shoot me dead with it lest I be accused of using it to make methamphetamine. Maybe, just maybe, he actually was buying candy and something to drink. It's been known to happen. -
That's like saying if some hot chick offers me sex that it's her fault I cheated since she tempted me. BSoA could have kept their policy and their dignity if they wanted. It may have resulted in less funding, but so what? Are we to blame the homo groups that the BSoA abandoned their principles? The decision ultimate lies with the organization and they chose. It wasn't a bunch of screaming queens thrusting this story into the news, it was the Boy Scouts' press release.

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp

I have no worries he will have a fair trial. Casey Anthony had years of drama in the media before she found herself in the courtroom. We all know she is responsible for the death of her daughter, yet the state couldn't provide enough evidence for the jury to find her guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Every juror interview I watched the juror expressed that they believed she was guilty. So for folks to say that GZ won't get a fair trial is preposterous, and I believe is being said so that if he is convicted folks can call it a miscarriage of justice. -
Agreed, but I don't think that is the issue here. I get just as annoyed with all the focus on gayness in the media and the so-called marriage equality campaign. Of course, I look at the gay movement over the past decade or two as an in your face campaign to normalize gay folks, and I guess it worked. There was a time you HAD to be in the closet for the sake of pride, career, safety, etc. That has changed now, and while it means nothing to many of us other than a sign of changing times, to gay folks I assume it's a very big deal to be able to live their lifestyle openly rather than in secret. However, all the gays I have encountered over the years aren't overly vocal about it. I have yet to meet one who insists on defining themselves based on whether or not they like to be penetrated. With that, I'm pretty sure people don't care if someone's gay, and if they do that doesn't mean anything anymore, so I don't think it is necessary to be bombarded with gaydom every time I turn on the news. In my opinion the whole thing is designed to consolidate Democrat votes and split moderates and ultra conservatives. Today, this subject, comes from BSoA. No one forced their decision to poll their members nor make the decision they did.

I am really looking forward to the evidence presented at trial from both sides.
