Yep, and some of us like 'em all. I have AR's, shotguns and pistols all worked into my base defense plan. Shotguns are not the preferred weapon for any offensive CQB, despite all the popular video games. There are a bunch of reasons for this, but sleep assured no higher tiered door kicking organization uses them for anything other than breaching. For defensive use though I would agree that it is a great tool for close targets.

Thug down, thug down! <not for the faint of heart>

Man, that cop in the driver's seat is damn lucky. Glad to see it ended well and the bad guy is worm food. -
No, but many active duty and veterans salute the flag during the national anthem whether in uniform or not. I assume that since ROTC/JROTC cadets do the same, it would make sense that this young man reverted to that. Understandable since he was likely a deer caught in the headlights after that move. During that time in my life I would have been so nervous to be in front of so many people due to frequent uncontrollable and unpredictable erections. Now throw a catastrophic failure into the mix, I may have well wet myself with embarrassment. Looks like he handled it well based on his age and experience.

Kinda like females in combat arms. They just lowered the physical standards so women could get in. If women were so equal they would be equally capable of achieving the normal standards.

Haha, my wife and I are the antithesis to this. We listen to Peter Cetera radio on pandora when we're having drinks around the fire pit, and any time that Time of Your life comes on the radio in the car we duet to it.... mostly to annoy our son, but we do get wrapped up in the nostalgia.

Yes, Trace Adkins is the Jeffery Dahlmer of country music. This song is the reason I rarely listen to country music radio anymore with the exception of outlaw country on XM.

I've been trying to instill this into my wife for years. I use the comparison of an attractive woman being nothing more than a gazelle on the savannah; it attracts lions. I think chicks have a hard time understanding that any average size man can overpower, rape and murder them at will. The only thing that prevents that from happening is the nature of good people, laws and opportunity. I think nowadays women are made to believe they are equal in every way to men. If that were true there would be an equal number of battered women's shelters to battered men's shelters. Men are inherently dangerous animals that are only contained by a combination of proper raising and modern law. A lack of one or both, or a disregard of such, leaves nothing more than a violent and dangerous animal that will take what he wants by levels of force determined by himself. For this reason women should be armed, and know they should be armed.

Unbelievable that Chicago politicians believe they have authority over the rest of the state. Bunch of fascist power hungry libtards.

Yah, same here. The gifts don't have to be extravagant. It's only tradition that you get them something. If I had thought about it more I may have got some nice carry knives (under $75 each) and maybe had them engraved or something. The flasks were just an easy thing to do... had a lot going on in the months leading up to the big day.

UN arms trade treaty:end of surplus rifles and ammo

Whether he signs it or not, does anyone know how this will affect shipments from countries that sign it? -
I think that could be validated by the existence of Avril Levigne. It's been a loooong while since I've been in a record store, but I remember seeing one of her albums classified under "Punk". I'm like "whaaaaa?"

I thought I was the only one so emotionally opposed to Nickleback. The chick I was dating when they cut their first album would play their crap nonstop everywhere we went. It didn't last. Nickleback should have their emo crap banned from rock stations.

I was in a KY Wally World last week and they were stocked on ARs. They even had an M&P 15-22 in the display. It was just a couple months ago that people were selling those for twice the cost. Funny because I was laughed at for offering a person $650 for a used S&W Sport just a few months ago, which is very fair for a used sport. Who's laughing now dips***?

Dunno, but I ain't learned enough to know one way or the other. I can only base it on personal experiences. I remember back to 3rd grade when I got a letter home regarding myself and a few other students picking on a queer kid. Obviously none of us knew what gay was, but I remember my conversation with my father when I got in trouble, in which my father inquired as to why we were making fun of him and some of the stuff I said was regarding how he hangs out with nothing but the girls on the playground. My dad said something about him being smooth with the ladies and that we were being jealous, and I remember explaining to him that it wasn't like that. Nowadays I'd understand that he was just queer as hell, but like I said, we didn't know what that was when we were 8; we just knew he was different. On another note, to say that it is a genetic impossibility since homos can't reproduce doesn't pass muster when you consider the vast amounts of people who are sterile and have been unable to pass along their genes throughout history. Obviously people continue to be born sterile despite not having sterile parents.

20 year SEAL is a "Warrior Princess"
TMF replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Not for me. There has always been an uncomfortable level of homoeroticism in the SEALs. A group of dudes hanging out in a team room, most of them shirtless and wearing nothing but udt's is about as gay as it gets. -
Anti-Muslim Speech Can Be Punished
TMF replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well, specifically referencing the area I have the most experience which is everything west of Iran, it is almost entirely sheep (which might as well be goats to me). Afghanistan has many a raped goat though. -
Anti-Muslim Speech Can Be Punished
TMF replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I posted in the other thread about this, but I get the impression they are speaking about threats made on social media, not offensive speech. If I say, "Muslims are a bunch sheep raping screw heads", I'm protected under the 1st Amendment. If I go to an Islamic Facebook page and post, "I'm gonna break the legs of one of you sheep raping Muslims", I have just committed a crime. I think the civil rights violation comes into play since the threat itself is aimed at intimidating someone with violence due to simply practicing their religion. That should not be okay for anyone to do in the US, whether it be aimed at Jews, Christians, Muslims, atheists, Hindus, etcetera. -
I think they are referring to threatening statements made on social media not general statements against the Islamic faith. Threats based on a persons faith are absolutely a civil rights violation. Whether or not we want to believe it, there are folks out there that threaten to hurt or kill a person because they worship a certain religion. The religion itself should be inconsequential when considering the crime, as in it is just as much a crime to threaten someone because they are practicing Islam as it is to threaten someone who is practicing Christianity. The only reason folks aren't prosecuted more for threats made on social media is because they are usually 12 year old boys behind the keyboard and aren't perpetrated by serious people, yet it is still a crime.

....didn't even have to use my AK... Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't think that absolutely sums it up. Situational homosexuality, such as in prisons, is quite common. Having spent many years in the Middle East I have come to believe that such an environment exists in their culture that having sex with young men and boys is due to their repression of natural urges toward women, which is done for the sake of religion and what is accepted to be "appropriate". Granted, it is NOT okay for there to be open displays of homo affection, but once the moon god is out all bets are off I guess. Since women are so segregated from men, I suppose men don't find themselves in many situations where they are alone with a female unless it is a family member; based on my understanding molestation of young girls by male family members is also rampant. Also rampant is rape in general. Funny how all that would be avoided if their culture just accepted that banging chicks (consentingly) is what was intended all along. So I guess what I'm saying is that many, many folks engage in homosexual activity though they may not be attracted to the same sex. It is done for a lack of options. To say that having gay sex proves one's attraction to men would be like saying a person masturbates because they are attracted to their hand. I mean, explain the Roman culture. I'm in season 3 of Spartacus and have been traumatized.

I don't see criticizing a decision is affecting anyone's rights. Freedom of speech goes both ways ya know. The church made a decision during a time where the subject is big in the news. This would likely not be news at all had it happened any other time. Personally, I support their decision 100%, just like I support BSA's decision.

People say hateful and ignorant things on the Internet under the safety of anonymity? I was not aware of this.
-
I've been attacked plenty of times for my beliefs but that hasn't influenced me to change them. If I suddenly decided that I wanted to change my beliefs in response to attacks or for the sake of conformity, doesn't that decision still lie with me?
-
It goes both ways. I empathize with both sides of the issue and see many of the arguments made by the most vocal on either side as ridiculous. If folks really believed in "live and let live" in regard to this issue there would be zero conflict.
