Miss World: Bikini ban because of Muslim sensitivity - no joke
TMF replied to Sam1's topic in General Chat
Huh? That's like inviting a drunk into my house and then asking him to leave for being drunk. Sure, I guess I shoulda expected them to get drunk, but it's still my damn house. Anyone wanting to do a scantily clad event in a Muslim country is a dumbass to begin with. What blows my mind here is outrage that Muslims would enforce Muslim rules in their own country. Who gives a damn what the monkeys do in their own jungle? -

No, but that's not what we're talking about. This is their own country. What they do there is their business. If the event organizers had an issue with that they should have gone to a country where they don't worship the moon god. Indonesia is a Muslim country. They will enforce Muslim stuff. Why is that an issue? -
I was just crackin jokes.

How are they being "catered to"? This is their country. Can they not make their own rules there? -

They aren't a minority in Indonesia, where this is taking place. In any Muslim country I've been to bikinis would be illegal unless you were at one of the private resorts where it may be allowed. If folks don't like it, don't hold a competition in a Muslim country. I assume there won't be booze either. -
Whoa, I wouldn't even know what that's like.

Yes, quite a bit along with a lot of other loud, damaging noises. Not too bad hearing loss but terrible tinnitus. I had an AK fired with the muzzle a few inches from my right ear. I assume that is the cause of most of the damage since I have the most hearing loss in that ear. A few shots in a house in a self defense shoot isn't that big of a deal though. Maaayyybe some hearing loss, but probably so negligible that it won't make a difference and shouldn't be something to keep you from using it to stay alive. In the moment it won't even bother you due to the adrenaline, trust me.

I was also surprised. It was their top story, and they were pretty detailed. I would say that they didn't have a choice because the story has gotten so much traction, but they included video of him contradicting himself in 2007; that is not normal for the liberals.

ABC news is lighting up Obama on this one right now. They even pulled out some footage of Obama in 2007 speaking in outrage over GWB doing the same exact thing.

I have a feeling this order was the only one leaked, so far.

Well we'll be screwed in a few years, huh?

Maybe H2? I checked to see if History was doing a Band of Brothers marathon so I could DVR it. Nothing but Pawn Stars all day, then Swamp People. F*** you History Channel.
-
You shouldn't. Who cares what someone else thinks of your faith? On another note, I think there are folks of every faith, or non-faith, in the US that might say the same thing. Despite what the media says, Christians dominate this country; just not the media and Hollywood. I think if folks got away from feeling like victims and were unapologetically who they are we could get along a little better... well, that presupposes that folks who are unapologetically who they are respect folks who are unapologetically who THEY are. Not likely, me thinks.
-
Even the History Channel is blowing it off.... The HISTORY Channel. They are marking the day by showing an all day marathon of "Pawn Stars".

No, I was simply referring to the general comments on how reliable the translation was or whether the intent of the text meant man on man action is a sin. Since the same language is used to describe having sex with an animal, it would prove the theory that they were referring to gay sex. Nothing in there about lesbians though, so I guess that's okay?

Well in this case no one will be fired since there was a court order issued by judge, so the NSA was acting within the law. The issue this brings up is the lack of oversight by the American people as to how the government is interpreting the laws, since it is being done in secret courts. They aren't spying on content (as far as we know), they are spying on records of who called whom. That should not be so alarming since such things are done with warrants all the time, but the fact they are doing it indiscriminately in bulk is the problem. They are collecting everyone's info. That is bad, bad, bad, bad bad precedent. The American people should have some outrage directed at their elected leadership regarding this, and look into how one gets a foreign intelligence judge ousted.
-
From what I recall the same language was used to describe beastiality (sp?) as a sin. Pretty clear the intent there with the translation, and I assume the original text.
-
True, but not the point at all. If we applied that logic to all things cops wouldn't bother asking before coming into your house or searching your car. I've been to countries where there are no boundaries for law enforcement. That same logic exists. We don't want that here, trust me.

Remember when an attractive conservative woman warned...

What a great precedent. Bitch the loudest and go to the front of the line, which pushes someone down the list who has been waiting longer. The situation is tragic all around, but looking for a villain here is emotions getting the better of folks. The organ donor system is set up the way it is based on reason and science. A family member of mine just received a transplant this year, so my limited understanding to how it works makes sense. This little girl absolutely deserves to live, but not at the expense of another child or adult who may have a better chance or has been waiting longer simply because her parents were able to navigate the media terrain better than most. I've read many of the articles surrounding this case and the general comments made by Americans, and they mostly seem to think that the HHS secretary can just wave a magic wand and get this girl an organ. Even if it worked that way, which it doesn't, what precedent does that set? There are people who die each day from injuries and ailments requiring an organ, and it's NOBODY'S fault. It's life, and bad things happen to innocent people. Making snap decisions on a case by case basis due to media attention will only KILL other patients who have been doing the right thing and may have been on the list longer or more qualified for an organ. -
Bullpups are the way to go for 5.56, in my opinion. You don't lose muzzle velocity and the overall length is about the same as a 10 inch AR.
-
Cost only 300 bucks, have the option of different length barrels and different loads for everything from killing home invaders to killing clays. Every house should have a 12 GA. Granted, every house should have a military style rifle, but that is for a different reason entirely.

That's probably the only thing she hasn't been plowed by yet.

Rediculous ammo prices at Pawn shop.
TMF replied to LenoirGunner's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
People were buying the hell out of it because they were panicked. Opportunists saw that and started buying in bulk in order to jack the price up and turn a profit. .22 will be cheap and easy to find again once people calm the f*** down. -
