Wow, so based on some of y'all's logic, having an opinion such as mine is somehow condemning a man to jail or something. I had no idea my opinion held so much power. Guess I'll head on down to The Tilted Kilt and let them know my opinion is that the waitresses should start giving free BJs. By some folks logic it is wrong to think a man committed a crime until he is found guilty. I'm curious how many folks thought OJ was innocent because he hadn't been proven guilty. Or how about Casey Anthony, or perhaps Michael Jackson? We have opinions, and sometimes they're different. I have some pretty good reasons for why I formed my opinions. At a minimum I would not count anything Zimmerman says as trustworthy based on his past, so even if I thought he was telling the truth I'd be skeptical. I'm not on a jury nor am I a judge. My opinion holds no weight of the law, so calm your rhetoric about the guilty til proven innocent stuff. I ain't the law.

I understand that completely, but that shouldn't sway our opinions based on race profiteers. I think that due to all the libtard involvement folks are more apt to believe that there is no possible way Zimmerman could be guilty of a crime. If we pretended for a moment that Martin was the same race as Zimmerman and they were near in age, I think many responsible HCP holders would have very different opinions on the subject. That isn't to say that someone who thinks Martin is solely responsible is a racist, but allowing a racist media to affect your opinion, even if it happens to be the exact opposite opinion they were going for still gives them control. I'll give you my personal example: Before this became national news and saw the likes of JJ and Sharpton, I read the article in the Sentinel regarding this. The headline was a paraphrase of the following: "White neighborhood watch captain shoots and kills unarmed black teen".... something to that affect. Seeing that it took place in Sanford and being familiar with the area this happened, I immediately figured this "kid" was up to no good, got caught and then got himself shot for attacking the watch captain, and now the media is trying to exploit the racial aspect of it for website hits... hell, they got me. Of course, my opinion changed later on, but in the moment I was inclined to believe that the story was BS due to the spin. Although it was not the intended opinion the Sentinel was peddling, they still managed to use race profiteering to affect my opinion.

Defending yourself from an intruder is "taking matters into your own hands"??? You're dang right it is. Who else's hands are going to do it? I wish these liberal fruitcakes who write this dribble would find themselves hopelessly at the mercy of a violent sociopath so they can understand that there is no such thing as the cavalry; just you, the bad guy and the rest of your life to make a decision on how to handle it.

And Zimmerman had quite the history as well, so I'm not going to buy that Martin was a thug who conspired to get whitey that night simply because he smoked pot and cursed a lot in text messages. Thank God there was no such thing as social media other than the bathroom wall when I was in high school or I'd be thrown under the jail by some of the folks here. If we want to focus on Martin's past and attribute that to his guilt in committing an unprovoked assault, why would the following not be relevant: 1. Allegations of sexual abuse by a younger female in Zmmerman's own family. 2. Assertion from at least one family member that Zimmerman is extremely confrontational and violent. 3. The restraining order and accusations of domestic violence made by a former girlfriend. 4. Being arrested for assaulting a police officer (after confronting said officer for investigating one of his buddies for underage drinking). 5. Lying boldfaced to a judge in a courtroom, as we all watched on national television. I realize that folks will individually explain away each and every one of those points. I also realize that sometimes folks make mistakes and sometimes folks get accused of things they didn't do. However, looking at the TOTALITY of these incidents tells me that there is either some truth that Zimmerman is an untrustworthy scumbag OR the world is just out to get him. There are some damn smart folks here. For you smart folks, think about the people you know who always find themselves in these types of situations and how it is ALWAYS somebody else's fault. I realize none of these things make him guilty if murdering Martin, but they do provide an insight to his character, so anyone taking his story at face value is a fool.

If not cheaper it is worth the peace of mind at least. I don't have to worry about my wife having vehicle issues that can't be corrected by the dealer at no charge out of pocket. I don't see a huge benefit of buying new vehicles with a 3 year / 36,000 mi warranty vs. a used vehicle with low mileage. However, 10 year / 120K is certainly worth it. Plus I respect any company that will stand by their product like that, which is why I won't be buying another dodge.

Yep, I'm now looking at only buying vehicles with 10 year + warranties, drive them for 10 years and trade it when the warranty runs out. Certainly seems cheaper in the long run than buying used every so often and paying for all the stuff that breaks over the life of ownership. This is for the wife's vehicles, of course. I will likely drive my pickup for the next couple of decades unless some moron wrecks into it.

Quick acting thwarts home invasion in Jacksonville, Fl
TMF replied to wewoapsiak's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
6 men hanging out "watching a movie" around midnight + Jacksonville + home invasion= likely drug house and the home invaders were looking to make a quick buck on sales and inventory. -
Could have been home on lunch break. My father used to come home for lunch all the time if he wasn't otherwise engaged. He may have left the car on and it died while he was inside. I don't know, perhaps he was just negligent and left the dog in there while it was off, but there would need to be more info released before I would assume he did something negligent. Leaving a working dog in a running car is standard; sometimes cars will die for various reasons.

Help finding a fishing spot near clarksville
TMF replied to c.a.willard's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I never see anyone pull anything out of there. Have folks been having luck at all? -
It is very possible the vehicle died. It's hard to fault the officer if that is the case. It is pretty normal practice to leave a working dog in the handler's vehicle with the vehicle running so that the handler can conduct business free of the canine. I have a hard time immediately accepting that this was gross negligence due to his 9 years experience as a working dog handler.

This "officer" is discredited. I don't believe anything that he says. If he said the sky was blue I would have to verify before accepting it as fact. Maybe mediums really speak to the dead. I don't know, I guess. One common denominator that causes me not to believe them is the fact they are always batsheet crazy looney toons. I'm just going to stick with what has always worked for me. On another note, I have hundreds of acres of land down in Florida for sale. Super cheap and water front... All of it. Just sign here....

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
TMF replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
How is that even possible? What makes calling someone something vulgar any different that using a racial slur? At any rate, y'all are nitpicking my post in order to ignore the point I made. Folks are prosecuted all the time for shooting a person in a place they have a legal right to be and aren't breaking any laws. The point I'm making here is INTENT. If your intent is to provoke an attack or violent behavior in order to use your weapon in self defense it doesn't matter how many times they bounce your head off the pavement. -

I guess I should head over to the projects and start yelling ni**er to every black person I see. Since that isn't illegal to do (protected under the first amendment) I should be good. Then I get to shoot the first person who tries to kick my ass (since assault is illegal)'and I'm protected under the right to self defense. Apparently if the only thing that matters is whether or not I'm breaking the law when the confrontation happens I should be good to go, right? Really awesome too since there are all kinds of "thugs" on that side of town. Y'all wish me luck, I'm gonna go hunt some darkies. -

Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp
TMF replied to DaveS's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't think so. I'm aware there is a lot we don't know in terms of evidence, and the evidence that has been released thus far is not definitive... none of it. It is my opinion it was Zmans intention to confront a thug and shoot him. It turns out the person he confronted was committing no crime and had a legal right to be where he was. You may disagree as I disagree with you and most people here, but to make it personal by saying I'm either crazy or stupid for having this opinion is the only thing I see as inappropriate. -
Troubling news for the Trayvon Martin camp

The case I referenced in Texas the guy was doing nothing illegal. In fact, he was on the phone with a 911 operator saying "I'm standing my ground" just before he was attacked. He was absolutely in a place where he had a legal right to be. The other guys broke the law by assaulting him, yet this guy is behind bars. Care to guess why? -

Okay, how 'bout the case where a guy in Texas (who was legally carrying) was getting beat down by three dudes and used his pistol, killing one of them. Guess where he is right now. What matters in these cases isn't just what happened when a person shoots, it also matters what happened leading up to the shooting. I can't for the life of me figure out why so many people with HCPs can't grasp that.
