  1. Yeah, I've taken dog bites before; real ones, not nips. I'd take one again to avoid killing an animal that was provoked by my behavior. A good example would be a recent slaying of a dog by a Clarksville PD officer. The dog was chained up in the owners yard. The officer cut through her yard not knowing about the dog. The dog approached him and was shot dead, on a leash in the owners own yard. The dog, by all accounts was not an aggressive dog. I realize that many owners of aggressive dogs will say that, but even if this dog was aggressive the officer should have either taken the bite or ran away. Sorry, there is no excuse for some of the shootings I hear of. It boils down to trigger happy cops who do not respect the property rights of citizens.
  2. Negative. There are plenty of TGO members who have the exact opposite opinion of me who I don't classify as hateful. You on the other hand have made personal attack after personal attack on myself and other members simply because we disagree with you. It is because you don't have the ability to express your opinion intelligently, and because you are a hateful individual, not because I disagree with your views on various issues. I swore I wouldn't respond to any of your posts but I'm getting a little tired of these veiled jabs you keep throwing out. If you have something to say to one of our members come out and say it direct or send a PM rather than throwing out this passive aggressive 13 year old girl crap. As for the personal insults you have thrown my way, my offer still stands to strap the gloves on so I can whoop your ass if you would like to.
  3. Unless you have an MP5 I'd keep the MP 15-22 since you have a regular AR.  You get all the training value without the expense of the rounds.  But then again, I'm biased.  I got rid of my MP5 .22 for my 15-22.
  4. Yep, Vancouver after a playoff game is still more dangerous than all these cities where rioting was supposed to take place.
  5. Proof that liberals are stoopid.  Unless he was carrying 6,000 rounds and fired that many on his shooting spree, why is it relevant how much ammo he had?  He fired only around 100 rounds, right?  that is 60 times less than the amount of ammo he had.  He could have walked into any Walmart (back then at least) and walked out with a couple hundred rounds of .223 just as easy.  Geez, why are liberals so dumb that they can't focus on relevant facts?   Ugh, it's like the stories where a guy has a dozen guns in his collection and they freak out, calling it an arsenal.  Well, you stupid pants wetting libtards, most of us only have two effing hands!  How the hell does it matter if I have one firearm or 1,000?  I can only shoot one at a time.
  6.   It's actually NSDQ: "Night Stalkers Don't Quit"... but they do, no matter how many times it's written on the wall of the latrine.  Especially if the sun is up.
  7.   I have not seen Manhattan in anything other than gridlock, especially around Times Square.  The numbers I saw in photos did not appear to be large.  The news has a tendency to add quadruple the numbers to their story, especially when they're pushing a bias.   Point is, the widespread rioting and looting that folks were hopin---- er, predicting, is not occurring.  There is a reason why.
  8.   You keep throwing out this race baiter term around but who is the one baiting who here?
  9.   They burned some tires in the street in Oakland and a few dozen walked around Times Square chanting about whatever on a Sunday night.  Trust me, not one person missed work because of protests... not even the protesters.   Despite all the chatter on social media, I do believe the average person whether they be white, black, hispanic or white-Hispanic accepted the verdict and recognize that this was the case of two hotheads, not a KKK lynching of a 12 year old black kid.  This will blow over in short time once CNN and the like have squeezed every last drop of ratings they can.
  10. Haha, too late, I already took all the heat rounds for that. I'm sure all ammo has been expended.
  11. I don't think this case has changed people's minds about carry laws. Folks who believed in a right to self defense likely felt vindicated by the verdict and folks who don't believe Americans should have the right to use deadly force also probably feel vindicated (by the huge injustice done not convicting someone they wanted convicted). Hell, I still hold the opinion that Zman acted criminally but am glad the verdict was based on evidence and not an emotional verdict against someone just because they find guns in the hands of citizens scary. I would say that no one has had their mind swayed on guns. Bed wetters will still be the same bed wetters, and us gun toting lunatics will still be the same gun toting lunatics.
  12. Yep, and that 300 fps is a guestimation. There are different variables which may cause that terminal velocity to be faster; a lot faster.
  13. No, folks have their permit for defense, not so they can go on the offense in order to elicit a defensive situation. Point is, nothing about my behavior has changed since I began carrying other than being less confrontational. I don't believe that Zimmerman would have pursued Martin if he hadn't had a carry weapon, especially if he was a weak and cowardly as his defense team presented him as in court. If he was that physically weak and afraid, he wouldn't have gone anywhere near "a suspicious man" who was "acting like he was on drugs." I'm not a pussy, but I wouldn't follow someone like that unless I had a weapon, which would preclude me from following them because I would be forced to use it in a situation that I intentionally placed myself.
  14. I don't believe his intent was to kill anyone that night either, I believe his intent was to pursue for the reasons you mention with the intention of using his weapon in the event of an altercation. I don't believe he would have pursued Martin if he was unarmed, which leads me to believe that was always in the back of his head, "if this goes south the I get to shoot one of these punks."
  15. Well the first problem with the whole thing is that Martin wasn't breaking the law. If he was breaking into cars or booting in someone's door then my opinion would be different. When Martin ran away (GZ's words) that would make any common sense individual believe that if a crime was going to be committed it sure isn't now, and just wait on the damn police. In regards to the long time gap, folks keep saying he didn't chase Martin, although you can hear that George is out of breath after hearing him get out of the truck and wind rushing over the mic of the phone. I'm no Sherlock, but that sounds like running to me. But lets just saying he was only walking. In the amount of time he took to "walk" from his truck to follow Martin (GZ's own words) he wouldn't have been more than 20 yards away from his truck, which would take even a porky man less than a minute to return to his truck. So how did he end up so far away from his truck if he A. Didnt run, B. wasn't following Martin even after saying he wasn't, or C. Said that he was returning to his truck? Doesn't pass the sniff test for me.
  16. I'm not sure what you mean by that or if you misunderstood what I was trying to say. What I was explaining is that if GZ had not been armed he would not have gotten out of his truck. If your decision to do or not do something risky is swayed by whether or not you're armed then chances are you're making a bad decision. GZ's defense team described him as being weak and a pussy. If he was so then he would have not pursued a suspicious man "acting like he is on drugs" down a dark street. He just wouldn't have done it, which should lead anyone to the logical conclusion that he was emboldened by his carry weapon which is a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad bad thing and should not be how our community is represented. It is the exact thing liberals accuse HCP holders of and I hear 99% of folks here arguing that's not true.
  17. Well if we're gonna play the "what if" game why don't I just stop and question every suspicious person I see? They might do something bad to someone at some point, and according to you I would have ownership in such a tragedy if I didn't intervene. Hell, I'd have a field day at Walmart on suspicious looking people. In fact, I bet if I went to my local Walmart and "investigated" every suspicious looking cat I saw I wouldn't make it through an hour before I had an altercation on my hands where I'd be justified in using deadly force! But hey, it would all be justified since one of those sketchy characters might do something to someone somewhere, someday, right? I'll just tell the cops to give you a call as they're hauling me away so you can explain that logic.
  18. There is a large enough time gap from when Zimmerman told the operator he was no longer following Martin to the time the altercation was reported by a caller to 911. A large enough time gap by several times over for GZ to have made his way back to his truck. If he wasn't running or immediately returned to his truck he wouldn't have been more than a couple steps from his vehicle by the time he got off the phone with the dispatcher. This is why I do not believe he was returning to his truck when the altercation happened. And no, TM doesn't get a pass either if in the same amount of time he could have reached his doorstep or called 911 himself. But he is dead, so it is hard to hold him accountable for his role. At any rate, George was older and more mature, in theory, and knew that he had a gun on him. When you carry a gun you don't go looking for trouble with a plan to use it when you find it.
  19. It seemed the issue was the use of tax dollars for the promotion of religious activities. Not that I care, though. Somehow I doubt volunteer (unpaid) instructors giving classes to youngsters at a school that is empty anyway during the summer is making a significant dent on education budgets, if any at all. I would agree that any religious institution (even the non-Christian ones) be granted the ability to use public schoolrooms for such activities so long as it isn't mandatory attendance or taking resources away from actual curriculum. Seeing both sides if this, I attended high school in a very, very small town where many of our mandatory events were held in the Baptist church across the road from the school. Most events I recall began with prayer. Not that it was a problem in our community, but then again there probably wasn't a Jew or Muslim within 100 miles to get offended over it. If there was a kid from another faith forced to go to these things, I would agree that it wouldn't be right to make such events mandatory or exclusionary.
  20. They won't. I won't be unassing my truck to follow someone I thought was suspicious and on drugs.
  21. Well I'm 1-2 on my creeestal ball. I predicted that the prosecution would have clear evidence pointing to his guilt. Then I predicted he'd be found not guilty when it was clear they didn't.
  22. Did he only get out of his truck? Seems to me that if that's all he did then the unprovoked assault from Martin would have taken place within arms length of his truck, right? And I don't think I have claimed that Martin is innocent of any wrongdoing. For all I know behind that scaaaaaary photo of him flipping a bird is a hardened criminal that beats up whites for breakfast and curb stomps Hispanics for dinner. Hell, that might explain all the media confusion. No, my issue with Zimmerman is mainly from a HCP holder perspective in regard to what you do and don't do when you're strapped. Carrying a gun doesn't make you suddenly invincible. Much of his defense was spent building an image of him being a meek rolly polly, yet he decided to pursue someone he thought was a suspicious man on drugs??? That doesn't compute. So either he is a brave brawler, or he was emboldened by his carry piece. That is the crux of my problem, and part of how I formed my opinion on his state of mind when he stepped out of his truck.
  23. Probably shoulda. There are a whole mess of "shoulda's" from that night.
  24. The problem is that folks like yourself will read words but only interpret what you want to believe, not the intent of the author. No one can help you with that problem except for yourself. Did Zimmerman deserve to get his head smashed in for getting out of his truck? The statement you made suggests I think it was a punitive action by using the word "deserve". No, of course he doesn't "deserve" that at all. Just like someone who BASE jumps off a cliff doesn't deserve to smack into the side of the mountain and die in a terrible heap on impact, but that is a very likely outcome when you engage in such activities, and I'm not going to feel bad for them. Does someone "deserve" to get AIDS because they shared a needle while injecting themselves with heroin? No, but they don't deserve my sympathy. Does someone "deserve" to get breast cancer? No, but that person absolutely will get my sympathy. You see how that works? We all make choices in life and have to live with those choices. When you make bad choices you have to deal with the outcomes. Life is really that simple.
  25. You're right, he isn't. If he were I'd have no problem explaining to him where he went wrong and would love for him to fill in the knowledge gaps that were not cleared up in the trial. But he isn't here. I am here though and so are you. You just made an accusation on how I raise my kids simply because I believe Zimmerman went looking for trouble. That is a personal attack from you to me for no other reason than having a different opinion to you. It is so incredibly transparent to anyone reading your statement. I can tell you that you are wrong on how I raise my children and I am disgusted that you would stoop to such a low. Absolutely disgusted.
