Mary Schantag is good people. I talked with her through emails a couple years ago regarding a couple of stolen valor cases; 1 to be refuted and one to be verified. She does the community a great service by getting these POS' outed. This guy needs a good serving of bone cancer. Glad to hear he is out in the open as a fraud, and will die knowing what a disgrace he is.

Walmart giving finger to DC city council
TMF replied to jcoosi's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
There is a key element at GM that Walmart doesn't have.... a giant, cancerous leech bent on destroying profits at the expense of the working man's employment. Same leechy cancer that killed Hostess. I worked for Walmart for a few years when I was younger. It still makes me laugh how they addressed unions in their initial training program, which was about a week long. I'm not sure how much has changed, but it seemed the company took very positive measures to ensure the happiness of their employees. I don't buy too much into all the lawsuits regarding women in the work place because those were based strictly on stats, not hard facts. -
All this talk makes me want to read the book again. It was that good. It's one of those books that you wish had a couple hundred more pages to it. Of course I read it immediately following Water for Elephants, so I may have been slightly biased to how good WWZ was by comparison.

Walmart giving finger to DC city council
TMF replied to jcoosi's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Nice, I didn't know that. Nothing more American than sticking up for yourself rather than backing down. Makes sense too. I bet there aren't many lawyers that will take a "slip and fall" case against Walmart if they know they will have to go to court. -
Baahh, keep your chin up. It was only 6 months ago that everyone I know was getting ready to kickoff a shooting war over sweeping gun control. First time I looked at the subject as not a bunch of silly anarchists, but folks who meant it. I'd say we got at least another generation before we're completely subdued wards of the state.
-
Well I'm sorry that you took it as a personal attack Robert, but the fact is you haven't given me a straight answer from the first post I made regarding the subject, so I take it to mean that I won't get one and the reason why is because you know that you're judgement is clouded by your bias, or you just lack the ability to admit that you're wrong. You refuse to acknowledge the scenario I posted. You refuse to acknowledge that another member called DaveS a bully just because he brought it up. You refuse to acknowledge that there is a precedent set for all of this. Like I said, I have no beef with the OP. He can do whatever he thinks he can get away with. My beef, once again, is the targeted behavior by a member to passive-aggressively attack other members with impunity while you stick up for him. You're on the wrong side of this argument. Come on over to my side. The weather is nicer.

Must a person take a butt whoopin before you pull a firearm?
TMF replied to Jesse's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Well that scenario sounds to me like an order of protection could have been issued by a judge, especially for the stalking. I hope you don't misunderstand what I'm trying to say here, but the point I was making is that even if you are doing something COMPLETELY legal, but doing it with the purpose of eliciting a response so you can kill someone will land you in jail. That isn't just me talking out my butt, there are a whole lotta people making big rocks into little rocks who broke no law prior to using their weapon in self defense simply because they started the fight. A good example is road rage. Lands a lot of folks in jail who pulled over for a fight and it ended in death. Is it illegal to follow someone to a gas station who cut you off? No. Is it illegal to approach him and tell him what a crappy driver he is? No. Is it illegal to tell him that his wife is dressed like a two bit whore? No, but I bet that last one will result in a punch to the face and maybe follow up with a few more blows. If you said all this, knowing that it was very likely he would punch you, then pulled your gun and fired while in fear for your life, it won't matter. You will still go to jail, because you had a gun and started something you planned on finishing with a firearm. It isn't theoretical at all. This happens all the time, and people go to jail for it. -
Walmart giving finger to DC city council
TMF replied to jcoosi's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The economy is in the toilet and companies across the country are downsizing, yet Walmart is building new stores and employing hundreds with every new one they open. Sounds to me like they get this capitalism thing. Hard for me to hate on them for selling Chinese junk when it is the government and unions who have destroyed domestic production. Walmart is gonna do what they have to do to stay in business and employ your friends and neighbors. -
Gotcha. That is the way to do, and I didn't even bother doing it before or even now. Snitches get stitches, after all. My issue lies simply with the implication that another member was out of line for bringing it up to the point of calling him a "bully" and berating him. I don't think that was accurate or appropriate, and certainly inconsistent with behavior of members when the subject has come up in the past.... all that goose/gander stuff.

Yeah, I get the type of person O'Reily is. The last time I watched his show Dubya didn't even know where Iraq was on a map. But the ratings still imply that there is a huge chunk of folks out there that aren't consuming the liberal garbage. That is a good thing, even if O'Reily is a pinhead. In regard to the totality of ratings, I don't believe that there are too many liberal news shows that compete with one another. I wouldn't even classify Anderson Cooper's show as being libtarded to the extreme. I watched it once and it was like watching a gay Geraldo. Not much content and I doubt the audience is made up of people looking to be reaffirmed in belief that conservatives are all racist gun nuts. The real liberal meat and potatoes (or tofu and soy) are shows like Pierce Morgan and Rachel Maddow, and if you add up their ratings they still don't meet O'Reily, and I'm certain the libtards who watch one probably watch the other. Just saying, I think the low viewership is a sign, regardless of O'Reily's standing as a pinhead. Hell, he says a lotta stuff that I agree with, but he's just so smug that I can't tolerate it.

What on earth are you talking about any more. I don't care what he has on his site. And I don't care what he has on here, I ain't the post police. I was simply defending DaveS' assertion after y'all dogpiled him. I have NEVER seen you or anyone else stick up for another person on this site when the vendor topic came up, and I've seen it come up often. We even had a member, who I believe was even a benefactor at the time, get lumped up for selling knives here because he was making a side business out of it. I didn't see you coming after those who outed him, so why go after DaveS for this? You don't have to answer that last one Robert. I realize you wouldn't give me a straight answer anyway, but I know the answer and so does everyone else reading this.

Probably not, especially since they look at us as lowly plebs anyhow. Not to drift off topic (as if that would matter at this point) but there were interesting numbers on The Drudge today which listed viewership for the various shows on cable news. Fox News swept the ratings in the first four or five top spots, with The O'Reily Factor topping the list with nearly 3 times the viewers as it's closest liberal competition, Pierce Morgan. It tells me something about where America's heads are at. We might be bombarded by liberal media over the airwaves and print, but folks still flock in greater numbers to get their information from a non-liberal news source (one that is also demonized by all those other outlets). I think that most intelligent Americans can see this for what it is right now, desipte the tireless efforts of the rabid left. It tells me no matter how hard they push, they won't win the hearts and minds of America's soul. Let them push, and let us remain silent. It will hasten them stepping on their crank more and being forced out the exit.... IMO.

Which is what makes the whole thing suspect for me. Honestly, I don't really care since this isn't my site and it isn't my decision to make. I'm simply pointing out the inconsintency in the posts which attacked DaveS for bringing it up in the first place. Dave made a valid point and was dogpiled for it.

Well if that is the logic here then I should be free to sell merchandise here commercially without issue and without becoming a vendor. Hell, I guess I should be able to sell personal items too without being so much as a benefactor, right? And I don't need David's explanation. If he has been made aware of it I'm sure he has his reasons, but he isn't sharing them here. Just you and another are making this man's case for him and I'm curious how you could reason your way out of my original question and the scenario I gave you. Obviously you can't since you keep changing the subject back to me.

I still can't figure out that there are "sides" here, especially since no one will ever know exactly how this confrontation started or who started it. Makes it difficult to root for one side or the other. The only "side" that should be rooted for was a fair trial. Zimmerman got it, and he was found not guilty. Regardless of my opinion on Zimmerman, the maximum amount of justice that could be served has been served and he is a free man. As I don't understand the Trayvon protesters, as for all they know he was a thug who attacked Zimmerman, I would be puzzled by Zimmerman protesters as for all they knew he accosted the kid and started the whole thing. I just don't get it. A this point the only valid protesting would be against Holder if he tries to come after Zimmerman, or Corey's corruption regarding the suppression of evidence and illegal firing of the IT specialist.

Yes, he did all that and then, after pages upon pages of it he conveniently introduced his book for sale. I can recall at least one incident where a guy came here, offered up his professional opinion on training and tactics as he was a firearms instructor of some kind. After offering well thought out professional opinions related to his career, he then throws out classes he instructs. That was immediately met "we have vendors here that pay for advertisement" type posts. Please explain to me how this is different other than this guy supporting the opinions of 95% of the people here regarding this case? You're allowing your feelings and emotion in this case cloud your judgment and objectiveness.

You will be fine. Ammo gets left in cars for months and years in places like Iraq and Afghanistan with temps reaching in the 120s and it still goes bang when it's supposed to.
-
Same in my area. There are still about a dozen people buying all the .22 when it comes in at the various ammo outlets. It seems to be a real business for them now. I assume they don't have jobs and this is their source of income since they are able to be at these locations at odd hours. This is according to associates I have spoken to at several stores.
-
Sorry, but you can't blame an employer for their employee breaking the rules because you THINK they don't make enough. As with any job, if you don't think you make enough or you don't like the rules you are free to quit. If Walmart is the pinnacle of employment for a person then they have no one to blame but themselves for their station in life and have no excuse to break the rules. Probably illegal as well since I doubt he is reporting the income to the IRS. If he is making money off every shipment then chances are he is pulling in at least 25% of his wages from his side business. He should be fired.

"Law Enforcement Today" Advises Police not to Kill Family Dogs
TMF replied to a topic in General Chat
I think you miss the point entirely. If a dog charges me in my yard or as I'm walking down the street is one thing. To come on someone's property or provoke a situation and then shoot someone's dog is not the same. -
It's an invitation. Physical violence suggests being an aggressor. He is welcome to back up the arrogant, demeaning and insulting things he spews from his pie hole. I just naturally assumed someone who runs his mouth like that would either back it up or STFU. Neither has happened. I assume mods have already seen the garbage he has written and have taken no action, so I extend my invitation for him to man up or shut up. To add to that, reference your comment on the type of site you'd like to come to, I would like to be able to discuss issues with members without someone injecting themselves in and saying things they would never, ever say to someone's face. The easiest way to keep things civil is to only say things you would say if you were in person. I do not believe the individual in question would ever talk the way he does to a person's face, so why do it here? My reaction is exactly how I respond if someone talked to me like that in person. They would be invited to a man chat.

Suspect kidnaps & holds knife to 2-year-old girl at Walmart
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I hope this son of a bitch is being raped by elephants in hell right now. I hope his body is woodchipped and used as shark chum. He doesn't deserve a headstone, grave, burial or any respect often given to the dead.
