  1.   Gotcha.  I didn't consider the context when I was posting.  I get what you're saying.
  2.   There is a chance of that, of course.  But the cops on scene wouldn't know that, and even if they did it doesn't in any way explain their actions.  I'm not familiar enough with diabetics to know whether one is so severe to limit their privilage to drive, but certainly there are a whole lotta diabetics out there with licenses.  Emergencies happen sometimes that you can't foresee.  An example, I spontaneously lost consciousness once walking down a hall.  If that had occurred in my truck I would have certainly crashed.  It only happened once, and I guess it could happen again at another point in my life.  If it does, do I deserved to be handcuffed and put facedown on the concrete?
  3. Drunk or not or whether there is a history of this on her part is irrelevant to the treatment she should receive after an accident. If a drunk gets into a crash and injure themselves it doesn't mean they deserve more injury at the hands of officers. It would be different if the drunk was trying to get away or was combative. Obviously she was neither, so why take a woman who may need medical attention or may be suffering from a medical condition, leave her face down on the pavement and walk away? Not as if I have sympathy for drunk drivers, but the officers still have a professional job to do and I don't think that is what I'm seeing here. Of course, the other side of the coin is that these officers are people too and they make mistakes. This may be a relatively small mistake, but a mistake nonetheless. When stuff like that happens the public deserves to hold their public servants responsible. Then the other thing is to ask yourself a question, "what if this was your wife or daughter?" I realize that is an emotionally charged question, but I think we would all be seeing red if we saw a family member suffering a serious medical condition being left on the hot pavement face down.
  4. I know, I like most all the same foods that are stereotypical of southern black folks. I hate skittles though. Ever since they started putting them in MREs in lieu of M&Ms. My comment is referring to stuff like this posted in another thread. There is no other way to interpret this as racist, especially the hearts and minds we're trying to bring over from the emotional to the rational side.
  5. I see this a lot and I don't understand the mentality. If you are in fear for your life or the lives of your loved ones then you are in fear for your life. It is that simple. Folks who conspire justification before hand are not in fear for their life, they are looking for permission to shoot. That is, saying that all this criteria is met and I believe that an investigator/DA/jury would agree. If you are weighing the opinions of the cops/DA/jury when you are about to use your firearm then you are clearly not in fear of your life. If you were truly in fear for your life the opinions of all those people would be moot, because it is your belief that you will be dead soon anyway. I have been in imminent fear of my life before. At no point was anything considered other than how to eliminate the threat as fast as possible.
  6. Sure, I get that. I guess what I was trying to say is that it couldn't happen because it is logistically impossible, and that doesn't even take into account the human factor. Democrats don't need to use military force to destroy this country and limit our rights. They do a fine job the way they do it now.
  7. The only way I can figure that folks oppose stand you ground laws is that they don't want people to shoot the gangbangers they provided a womb for. There is no other logical reason I can come up with. On another note, I still can't believe how stupid Americans are that SYG is still synonymous with the Trayvon Martin killing when it had nothing to do with it. So this is what I can gather: 1. In the early days of this case SYG was referenced, and the media burrowed this into the story like a tick. 2. Liberals saw the opportunity to change pro-carry legislation, so they kept the SYG debate in the forefront, using the Martin case as their soapbox, even though they knew one had nothing to do with the other. 3. In a way to poetically weave their agenda into racial tensions, SYG became the villain against black youths, and the liberals exploited the incorrect perception that somehow the legislation is responsible for white people killing young black men, thus galvanizing the movement against SYG. 4. The assault continues as low information voters label any facts or evidence contrary to the narrative as "racist" while at the same time supporting a theory that innocents should have less rights than the criminals who do them harm. On the bright side, this racist thing really seems to be losing its bite. I would think that it would go away altogether, but then some idiot shows up and makes a comment about fried chicken and watermelon which only reaffirms what the libtards have been saying all along about our side. We can't expect both sides of this to make it solely about the facts, but if we could just make our side about the facts as opposed to a few folks injecting true racism into the mix then our logic would be undeniable.
  8. I get the whole "if you hear hooves don't assume zebras" thing, but still, had she been drunk would laying her on the pavement be appropriate even then? Whether she had committed a crime or not the officers still have an obligation not to cause injury or exacerbate an injury unless it is necessary to subdue a suspect. Didn't look like she needed to be subdued. I guess I just don't understand that mentality. If I had to guess, her treatment was punitive for not opening the door when they commanded, but that shouldn't matter, should it? It's a good case for departments to train their officers on. I don't know if I would consider any of this to be negligent to the point of being criminal, but what I do know is that if that had been my wife I'd be coming for the ass or badge of every one of those cops on scene.
  9. Can't tell if that is the look of a smug female liberal, or a woman who has never once had a orgasm.
  10. Sounds like anarchists again looking to exploit the situation. Convenient that anarchists have nothing to lose by destroying society, since they have contributed nothing and therefore have no vested interest. Anarchists and freedom are like a 15 year old with a Ferrari.
  11. Well I'm sure we can debate which president did what and when, and as to what the negative effect it had on our rights, but we could go all the way back to the second president and everyone since and find something. I'm not convinced that the concept of GWOT is the problem, just the execution. The patriot act is a different animal, and a shining example as to why we shouldn't knee-jerk to a situation. Of course, in 2000 no one could have predicted what September 2001 had in store for us. In 2008, Obama made very clear what his goals were and he made good on it. Less than two months after being reelected he made the biggest push against gun ownership than any president, ever. We knew before he was elected that would be the case. We knew it. Then we could get into the out of control spending and anti-business policies of the dems, but the results of such are self evident. Maybe we would end up here eventually if we had nothing but republicans in the White House, but I can damn sure tell you we wouldn't be in the situation we're in right now if Romney had been elected. 2015 will be a very interesting year if the dems take it. I almost wish they would so Americans could see the destruction their votes can bring, but then again, Detroit crumbles as we type and somehow those idiots can find a way to make it seem like 60 years of dem rule has nothing to do with their situation.
  12. Oh those silly left-wingers. They should try to be a bit more subtle if they're trying to damage the image of their opponents.... at least believable. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2013/07/busted-left-wing-plant-at-houston-pro-zimmerman-rally-is-far-left-activist/
  13. Southwest does direct flights to and from Tampa out of Nashville. I take that route all the time when flying to Florida. Less than two hours to fly and nooooooo connections. Pure awesome.
  14. Yep, it's a matter of whether you want to get punched in the face or kicked in the balls. One of the two is going to happen whether you like it or not, so best to have a say in what you don't want rather than what you do. Getting kicked in the balls is way worse than getting punched in the face. Obamacare and the potential for sweeping anti-gun legislation in 2015, depending how things go in November... that is a big old kick to the mail sack.
  15. Well that's that then. Not really missing out on much. I don't notice any difference on my M9 vs my 96 other than having to manually move the decocker up to take the safety off after loading it.

    FAL vs G3 vs M14

I believe this to be the case. I still see conventional Army guys sporting a couple of M14s in the EBR config per platoon. I suppose if they had SR 25s or whatever the Army calls them now, they'd be taking those out. Other than a bolt gun, the M14 is the only semi auto long range rifle they have. I recall before all that EBR stuff came out came out seeing a female soldier from the 101st in a chow hall nearly 10 years ago with an old school M14 slung over her back. She was about 5 ft tall and maaayyyybe 100 lbs, so you can imagine how ridiculous this looked, the rifle barrel almost dragging the ground as she walked since it was nearly as long as she was. I asked a guy that worked up at BDE about it and he said that many support folks were issued these since they didn't have enough M4s at the time for the ash and trash. Don't know if that is true or not, but I know for certain if she fired that weapon standing up she would be knocked to the ground.
  17. Our military can't secure an area the size of Texas from insurgent activity. Been proven. Now with downsizing of our armed forces I believe, once they were finished laughing their asses off, our top generals would advise the POTUS that such a plan is impossible to implement if there is even a little resistance. This conversation will probably segue into the next conversation which will be the JCS removing the POTUS from office by force.
  18. I tell ya man, the more I look at those photos the more angry I get. The thought of some lady getting assaulted by one of these feral animals as she's trying to get her grand kid to the hospital just boils my blood. No way do I see myself staying in my car if I saw something like that. There would be an incident they did not foresee.
  19. Yep, if people are blocking an ambulance just for the sake of being a bunch of screwheads there is no moral issue with that ambulance turning them into stains on the asphalt. This wasn't a protest; this was simply a mob looking to intimidate and terrorize innocent people. None of these so-called "protesters" I would classify as a human being deserving of the same rights as you or I. At the least they deserve to be thrown in jail.... at most they deserve to be hurled into the sun.
  20. Every time this thread gets bumped I gotta look at that AK again and talk myself out of it.

Probably those tiny little units under the SO umbrella that are secret squirrel or have a specific mission set that allows them access to special weapons orders. There are also non-standard weapons purchased for R&D. An example would be all the 6.8 uppers bought about ten years ago that never went anywhere due to ammo constraints.

    FAL vs G3 vs M14

Yep. I'd give one of my gold Pmags to someone who finds a legitimate SEAL who calls himself SF. Like calling a Marine a Soldier.... nails on a chalkboard for both.
  23. I'm a little confused on the parts here. I'm holding a M9 in my hand right now and have a 96G at home. Best I can tell the only difference (other than caliber obviously) is the safety having some sort of spring loaded mechanism in there for the G model. Is the slide actually machined different?

    FAL vs G3 vs M14

I am not nitpicking. They are not the same thing. And no, SF doesn't use them. It isn't on the MTOE.
  25. You can't get the parts and DIY? Seems like it would be pretty easy.
