  1. Ironic that you can find all those same sins overtly on display in the ISIS stronghold of Mosul. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. People are armed and will fight back in Anywhereville. They don't want that. They want a slaughter. Mark my words, this will happen in the states and it will be in gun free zones. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Meh, I got a 4 chan Swann DVR off Amazon for $99 and it is fine. Only 500 GB, but it takes about 5 weeks to start overwriting data. Since 3 of my 4 cameras are record on motion only (which is how folks should set them up) it saves space so having an $800, 2TB DVR is entirely unnecessary. Good quality cameras are good to have, but I got cheap ones for $40 a pop, which is good since my house was struck by lightning, thus frying all my cameras, along with my TV, cable modem, Blu Ray.... I would highly recommend the average person not spend more than a few hundred dollars on a home surveillance system. Perhaps if you own a business, but for home, you can install your own surveillance system for around $300 (cameras, wiring, DVR) and it will do everything you need it to. 4. So far? 'Bout 2,000 years. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Looks like it's going down right now in Paris. One female terrorist has already blown herself up. News thinks they have the mastermind of the attacks cornered. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7.   So it's safe to assume they just don't believe in genetic ancestry testing, huh?  Stupid science.
  8. I recall doing first aid classes in elementary and middle school. In high school I got certified in a 40 hour first responder course. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Oh, well thanks for explaining that. I'd pull out my handy dandy Constitution pocketbook and thank God that it exists, but I suppose God would not approve of all those pesky little freedoms guaranteed in there. Instead, I'll just thank the founding fathers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I don't know what sources you're reading, but the terrorists who traveled to Syria via Turkey have no record of leaving Turkey for Syria. From what I understand, fighters going to Syria via Turkey are rat lined in, which is why I said it is possible that all of them traveled to fight in Syria. Much like the 9/11 hijackers, we won't know the complete history of their radicalization and travel for weeks or months. As for the lack of "exit plan", that isn't what I'm talking about. The discipline the displayed was not just being able to fire a weapon at unarmed people; it is the coordination, OPSEC amongst such a large footprint of terrorists, no dissension in their orders to commit suicide, and the organizational skills of the attackers. In regard to training, no, there aren't places where these guys can train on their weapons in France, unlike in the states. Our most recent mass shooters were able to train overtly with their weapons prior to their crimes, and they still tend to fumble it up. These guys were able to employ their weapons during an adrenaline dump without any problems. There is definitely training there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Have you ever seen someone pick up a firearm and shoot it for the first time in their lives? How about untrained people conducting combat operation? Confidence is a big thing here. You are right, that in theory it isn't hard to pick up a rifle with little to no training, and fire it at people who have no means of defense. In application, however, it is very different. And I'm surprised, that a doubter such as yourself, is solidly comfortable in the "facts" which have come out only a few days after the shooting. As a skeptic, you should already know that the full story behind these attackers won't be out for weeks or months, just like the 9/11 hijackers. I'm also curious on your definition of "brief". They don't even know how long these guys spent in Syria, since Turkey has no record of them exiting the country into Syria. What's more, fake identification such as passports are widely used by these guys to travel to/from conflict zones so the don't end up on watch lists. For all we know, all of them were trained in Syria. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Interestingly enough, there's nothing in the Quran that says women have to cover their faces, yet that is being pushed in Europe as a religious issue. It's rather cultural. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This was going on in the UK after they started letting Muslims wear just about anything in their photo IDs. They are bringing up a good point, that religion (or one religion) should either not trump policies put in place for a reason, or that if it is okay for one group to do it, then it should be okay for all. These are not whackos wearing cookwear on their head just for the hell of it; they are making a a valid political statement. It won't be long before Muslims are suing to let women cover their faces for photo IDs and winning their suits. When that happens, pastafarians should be allowed to wear wet noodles over their face. 14. It also appears many of these "homegrown" terrorists fought in Syria, which would explain their level of comfort and expertise using weapons and explosives. I just couldn't believe that you could get a group of French born and raised kids and have them execute such a well planned, coordinated attack while at the same time effectively utilizing all weapons involved. There is simply no place in France that they could have received all the necessary training in order to so successfully conduct their attack. So they trained in Syria, and ISIS used their access and knowledge of their enemy country to carry out the attack. Your everyday wannabe internet jihadi just doesn't have the discipline and training to do this. Just like your everyday, Internet jihadi killing keyboard commando wouldn't have the training and discipline to go face ISIS on the battlefield. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  16. I may have misread your post. You were talking about the French? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. There were US troops on the ground in October. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I think if there were one or two people in that crowd who had pistols, dozens of people would still be alive. As an abled bodied man, it is my duty to protect the weak and defenseless when faced with imminent threat; all men are responsible to do this, regardless of the potential loss of ones life. 19. I'm not certain of the full story or exact circumstances he was facing, but I got the impression from the story that he pulled his firearm and the guy continued to advance. If this is the case, then it would appear that it stopped the attack where merely pulling the firearm did not. I'll say once again, I'm not arguing legalities here. I completely understand that firing a warning shot opens one up to a host of legal issues, and I also understand that this is completely off limits in the realm of firearms self defense instruction. I just don't accept absolute statements that say it is never acceptable to do something. Every scenario is different. Perhaps this guy would rather face legal ramifications than kill another human being. That isn't proof or absolute evidence that he wasn't in fear for his life or that he is foolish. As with ricochets, we don't know where is round went. For all we know it went directly into the soft earth in front of him. I've shot a whole lot in my day, and the statistical possibility of a low velocity bullet from a pistol, shot directly into the ground will result in a ricochet, unless there is something hard in the ground, such as concrete or gravel. Like I said before, I'm not condoning this as an accepted practice, but I sure as hell am not going to Monday morning quarterback his actions, especially since the story worked out just fine. 20. I've met a few that came to play, but they are a very small percentage. When a source states that cell members will fight to the death if the Americans come... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I don't disagree that this may raise a number of legal issues, but I can't accept the absolute that a person cannot be in fear for their lives while at the same time not want to take the life of another. This happens all the time with victims who pull a weapon but do not fire. I don't have this problem, but that doesn't mean I immediately dismiss someone else who does. Nor am I recommending this as a standard course of action or technique which should be adopted by trainers and students. I'm just saying I have no issues with his actions. Both people are alive. He not only would have been justified in shooting this person, it seems, based on the circumstances, he may have been beaten to death with a bat had he not done something to stop the attacker. He did, and now another human gets to go on living, and perhaps turn his life around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I don't agree with the "outgunned" concept.  These guys are cowards.  From the reports I've read so far, these guys clacked themselves off once they started getting engaged by police.  The two jihadis down in Texas completely fell apart when they started getting shot at by one guy.  I've fought enough of these pussies to know that once the lead starts flying their way, they normally want no part of it.  They'll either try to run, hide, submit, or clack themselves off.  Rarely do they stand to fight toe to toe.  It happens, but rarely.
  23. Okay, I'll give it a try..... ahem: "She should take shooting lessons from Kurt Cobain." "The lyrics to 'In Bloom' have never been more relevant and ironic." Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. We will see what comes out in the next few weeks. There are stark differences between the Charlie Hebdo attack and this one, and the indicators are that these people have the training and discipline of foreign fighters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. The FBI got spanked by the liberal media for doing this. I'm going to assume the bad press associated with it resulted in Obama strictly limiting how much this happens. Political correctness is killing people. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
