Of course websites post stories that drive views of their pages. Nothing new here, or newsworthy with that either. Just happened to be Cyrus twerking this time.. And as you admit never watching these award shows how do you know what goes on? I'd of liked to see celeb's blowing each other, must have missed that
Despite my best efforts one cannot watch or read news without being bombarded with information that one would otherwise wish not to have. I've never watched Honey Boo Boo, but I know what it is. Never seen a Karsashian show, but I know there's a bunch of them. I couldn't tell you what Lindsey Lohan is doing these days, but I know it's controversial. I've never eaten dog crap before, but I know it doesn't taste good. The reference to them blowing each other is my opinion of all awards shows. They exist so celebrities can pat each other on the back in an indulgent event which the Plebs love to talk about for weeks leading up and weeks following the event. Stupidity is an industry.

WWII vet beaten to death by two black teens

You misunderstood what I was saying. Anyone who stands behind Jesse Jackson while he speaks and does not leave in disgust is either racist, ignorant, deaf, on the payroll or all of the above. What I'm talking about is just because JJ stands up there with a bunch of black people doesn't mean that all black people (as a race) are in line with him. He doesn't speak for all black people. Hell, I've watched a few militant anti-white videos on YouTube in which even black power extremists don't like Jesse Jackson and call him a race hustler. What I was referring to is the repeated mantra of black people who don't speak out against the racism that exists in the poor black community are somehow responsible or complicit with what other black people do. We need to get away from that thought. The only people that matter in that scenario are those who commit the crimes, those who raised them to be little monsters and those who support their behavior. Everyone else has nothing to do with it. So, in this case of this old man being beaten to death, it isn't a race issue. It is an issue with the individuals who committed the crime. Just like I have nothing to do with George Zimmerman shooting Trayvon Martin, black people around the country have nothing to do with these hoodlums beating this old man to death. We are masters of our own destiny. -
Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
TMF replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I'm 100% certain I can stop a threat quicker with bullets than with words. Someone who has forced entry into my home, where my wife and kids sleep, is a mortal threat; no different than someone who is pointing a weapon at you. You may say there is no guarantees in a gun fight, but there ain't no guarantees with trying to talk an intruder from killing you and your family. I don't see how anyone could say that it is the preferred technique. If someone is bent on doing you harm which do you think will stop them faster; words or bullets? I know the choice I'm going with. -
He could have summed it up by explaining how there are far more crazy, trigger happy crackers than there are crazy, trigger happy black folks. This video here pretty much sums that up... from a black panther no less. It's funny because he references that video of the little girl that does three gun comps (NSFW by the way): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7VqG_4ADFfQ

Thanks for that Chuck. Reminds me that the wife and I need to start working on our playlist for Halloween. Beetlejuice hasn't been done yet since we've been together, so that will be on the list this year.

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?

Syria warns that any military strike by the west will be met with a strike on Israel from Assad. Syria, Iran issue first explicit warning to Israel if US attacks | The Times of Israel http://www.timesofisrael.com/syria-iran-issue-explicit-warning-to-israel-if-us-attacks/ -
Pretty much confirms the commentary. Here is a story about the story about the story. http://m.theepochtimes.com/n3/264928-the-onions-cnn-article-draws-response-from-networks-meredith-artley-over-miley-cyrus/
Not sure what I think about this Pincus video: I think for me it would be more like this: 1. If there is time, the family would barricade in the safe room without me 2. I would positively identify the target as a BG (especially important at night) and then pull the trigger I know it would likely not be that cut and dried as there could be other complexities, but I'm not sure I agree with his version, including the idea of verbally warning the BG that you have a gun.
I have kids to protect. Any apprehension on my part to eliminate the threat puts their lives at risk, especially due to my floor plan. Anyone who illegally enters my home does not deserve the benefit of the doubt, and anyone who risks their lives by giving an intruder the benefit of the doubt is being foolish. The benefit of the doubt ends at the locked door or window they came through. The locked door was their warning. -
I gives a f**k what Billy Ray's kid does. Also, I have never once watched the VMAs or MTV awards shows. If I wanted to watch celebrities blow each other I'd go to mrskin.com. The point of the article is a commentary on media. Between all the news websites (to include Drudge) I go to I saw no less than a dozen "top stories" regarding this. Normally I wouldn't care, but since there were so many "top stories" I thought whatever happened must have been newsworthy. My curiosity got the better of me after being so bombarded with headlines, and then I was exposed to brain herpes when I read the story. It caused me to wonder how this was top news with all the other crap going on. This topped stories regarding the impending military strike on Syria. I'm not kidding. Read this article; it sums up everything I wanted to say.

All those reasons are what concerns me and should give folks pause who say the same things as JJ only in reverse. We all recognize that JJ and Sharpton are racists and race profiteers. But folks who think that JJ is the "king of the blacks" are being disingenuous. No matter how many black people are standing in the background during one of JJ's racist tirades, it doesn't mean that all, or even a majority of black people agree with what he's saying or see him as anything more than a hustler. We enter very dangerous territory when we can't separate race from the equation of violence and ignorance. We can't deny that there is a subculture in the US made up entirely of black people, but that doesn't mean all black people fall into that subculture. I often equate it to my trailer trash roots, as there were very few black people in my county, but a high density of trailer parks and scummy criminal white trash that had an entire subculture of abuse towards women and children, alcoholism, drug addiction, crime and racism. Sounds familiar, huh? Yet when I see a white person I don't automatically see trailer trash or a person who supports that kind of lifestyle. If I see a white guy dressed like trailer trash, then yes, I will apply that label. Same goes for black people. I see black professionals every day. In no way does their skin color give me cause to relate them to this story, or any similar story. I don't know what their opinions are on it, and I don't care. If we aren't personal friends then discussing our opinions is pretty unprofessional to begin with, but for all I know they share the same opinions as I do. Since I don't know what their opinions are why should I automatically assume they a part of the problem because they aren't "actively speaking out". The notion that they have an obligation to is preposterous. And for anyone who ignores the last sentence and cherry picks other quotes from this post, I swear I will go back through this and other threads where people suggested this very thing. It's preposterous and racist. It is not as if I ignore that the thug culture exists in poor black communities. I also recognize that most people born in those communities are raised to believe the white man is responsible for all their woes, and this indoctrination creates racists. But that doesn't apply to the whole of the race. When we do that we are the same as JJ and Sharpton, who claim that EVERY white person is responsible for racism in America. Saying ALL black people are part of the problem is no different..... and for folks who claim they didnt say that I promise you I will find all the quotes here on TGO to the contrary. -
Hmmm, think you may have missed the point of the story and the post.

While I was reading the news regarding her performance I was trying to figure out how to put this into words. Luckily, there are smarter folks out there to better articulate why we have stories of "twerking" shoved in our faces. The answer lies in the story. http://www.theonion.com/articles/let-me-explain-why-miley-cyrus-vma-performance-was,33632/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview:1:Default&recirc=back-to-school

I have nothing but their older stuff on my iPod. I agree, all their stuff late stuff sucks. The Dixie Chick thing just really pissed me off because of how they referred to fans not buying their music was suppression of free speech. Not buying something in protest is one of the best displays of freedom we have. If they weren't freedom hating commie-prostitutes they would see that.

We're talking about very different things. Jim Crow laws were self evident in their intent and executed by the state. A couple of black teenagers aren't. They could be perpetrating their crime for various reasons, not just because the victim happens to be white. The assumption that your skin color means you have to be an activist for or against something is racist. You don't know what that black guy over there thinks. He may agree with everything you say, but because he isn't loudly proclaiming it he is wrong? That's what we're talking about here. Read back to what I am responding to; a chorus of folks who say "it is the fault of all black people because they don't come out and condemn this." Well in that case it is the fault of all white people who don't condemn the things that white people do. Maybe I'm just an extremist here that believes the actions of a person who shares my skin color has no bearing on me, and I have no obligation to support or condemn their actions simply because of my skin color. So does the same apply to black people. -
I had Geico for a couple of years for car insurance. I was getting raked over the coals for what I was paying; granted I was younger. I switched to USAA and cut my insurance payments in half.

I picked up one of those Romanian 5.45 x 39s in '99 for $250. Came with 1,000 rds of ammo and 7 mags. Still got it. I remember going to the gun store with my dad when the Brady legislation was going through. He was buying my mom a .38 for her birthday, and I recall the gun shop guy trying to sell dad AKs in bulk; as in buy three get on free, or something like that. Of course, my dad wanted no part of it. He regrets that now.

This is a problem right here in TN, especially Clarksville. We are up to at least one murder a week, sometimes more, and it's always someone who otherwise would have been incarcerated. These slimy lawyers and pro-crime judges we have go for the plea deal every single effing time. Spineless jellyfish... ALL OF THEM! They are just as guilty of these crimes as the owner of viscious dog would be when he lets it roam free. They pat themselves on their spineless backs when they get a conviction with a plea deal and don't care that the thug receives no punishment. CONVICTION DOES NOT EQUAL PUNISHMENT! These thugs look at a conviction as street cred. They need to be kept in cages where they belong, and executed when they are guilty of 1st degree murder. I'm gonna watch Law Abiding Citizen again and cheer every time a lawyer gets smoked. -
When it comes to comedy nothing should be off limits, ever..... well, kids and wives are sacred, all else is fair game.

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
TMF replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I'll give George Bush some credit; at least when he gave a threat it wasn't idle. I don't know if you remember, but when Bush lived up to his promise to Saddam and his sons, Ghadaffi immediately abandoned his nuclear program. For all the issues resulting from that mess, at least the world knew not to screw with us and our President meant what he said. However, with Obama he keeps making these meaningless, vague political announcements in which he tries to look tough but doesn't back it up. It would be best if he just kept his mouth shut in the first place, but now that he ran his suck we look like pansies since we won't follow it with teeth. It makes us look weak. The rest of the world is taking note. -
Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
TMF replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I suspected from the start that this was possible. It is a popular tactic for the Arabs to do unspeakable crimes to their own kind with the purpose of blaming it on the side they're fighting. Happened all the time in Iraq with Sunnis blowing up their own people then blaming it on the Shias. Of course, I sorta figured that this one might be a little far fetched because there would be no way they could conceal their actions for ever; too much evidence. There is no way they could keep it a secret if it was them, just like Assad couldn't keep it a secret if it as him. It will be interesting to watch and see how this shakes out with the UN. -
While they're makin my drink they should whip up a sammich for me too.

I don't know if its dangerous or comical that Assad is making a fool out of Obama after he made those idle threats about his "red line". Can you imagine this limp wristed puppet running the show during the Cold War? The Russians would have invaded on principle. -
How cute.
