1. I believe the dose was from the night before. I think the whole story is BS. I believe there was an argument between the two over this guy being a leechy POS and a slob in which he lashed out by shooting the victim 5 times in the back. Yes, he had to pull that trigger 5 times aimed at this person's back. The whole story is crap. He murdered him with all the intent to murder. He should be sitting on death row. The jury should be ashamed of themselves that they saw being high as a defense to murder. Absolutely ridiculous.
2. Nope. The defense was that because he was high on ketamine he didn't know what he was doing. Not kidding. The jury bought that.
3. Sooo, you're saying if there are multiple armed intruders in your home they are more likely to be defeated with words than bullets? I don't need ears. I just want my family to survive. If you are suggesting that talking to armed intruders gives you a higher probability of surviving than if you shot at them, I think you should start searching the web and YouTube and see for yourself how armed intruders respond to words versus bullets.
4. Do wha? Once they are in your home your life is in danger. It's that simple. You can't safely disengage anything when your life is already in danger without taking a risk with your life. Sure, it may work out for you, but now YOU are assuming risk. I love my kids too much to take that risk and the law supports me in that; even if it didn't, I gives a f***. Their lives are more important than anything else you could possibly think of.
5. There is a massive difference between someone who is attempting to gain entrance and someone who has. It would make sense to give warning when they haven't yet made entry since they still don't have the ability to do you or your family harm yet, and the primary goal is protecting your family. If you can prevent them from entering in the first place then success has been achieved. Once they are in the house there is nothing separating them from hurting me or my family. In the house all bets are off. In the house any intruder is a clear and present threat to your life and the lives of the people you are responsible for protecting. The point here is the difference between a present threat and a future threat. Someone who is attempting to gain access is not a present threat. They may become one in short order though. If you can prevent that from happening with nonviolence then great. A clear and present threat is a different story. I can't imagine putting the life of the threat, potential prosecution or potential civil liability over the lives of my kids. Those are some pretty screwed up priorities.
6. ... it is probably better than a coordinated mortar, RPG, PKC ambush.  Remember that there are 18 year olds right out of high school dealing with this.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elX1HmYm5B0
7. What are you lubing the lugs with?
8. Wut?
9. I keep an extra pistol in the truck which is accessible one handed. I used to unholster when going through congested areas or slow areas that were questionable. Now I don't have to worry about screwing around with my EDC.
10. I just read an article today about China's noninterventionalsim despite them having more skin in the game. To sum it up, they figure the oil will keep flowing either way. Why get involved in a situation you can't help or fix? On another note, Alex Jones is not a credible source. The "broke clock" analogy doesn't apply. Yeah, a broke clock is right twice a day, but it isn't the source I would use to tell time. If he told me the sky was blue I'd go outside to verify for myself.
11. Well, I only got two arms so I figure all the rest of my ARs are to arm my guerrilla force. I'm thinking about canning the idea of having a 5.56 as my goto anyway. I'm seriously considering the 300 blk route if I get into this reloading thing, and keepin a spare 5.56 barrel for it.
12. Vigilance is always a good thing. However, folks lose all credibility when they circulate false documents and misleading information regarding confiscation. I tell ya what, if Blue Helmets show up on our shores to take away guns I'll give away my ARs to the first folks to bring me UN scalps.
13. This happened like a year ago.  A happy ending to a terrible story, but wondering why I'm seeing this all of a sudden being passed around social media.  It's all over Facebook today.
14.   It seems to me very simple; the color of your skin does not obligate you to take ownership or speak out against anyone or anything occurring with other members of your race.  If I woke up with black skin tomorrow it wouldn't change anything in regard to my opinion or how I express my opinion.  That is the way it should be.  Thinking otherwise is no different than people who blame all white folks for George Zimmerman shooting a black teenager.
15.   How is this not a generalization?  Explain exactly what you mean by this statement ^^^^.  Then explain to me how if you woke up tomorrow and your skin was suddenly black, how would the actions of these two monsters spontaneously become YOUR responsibility to speak out against.  There are plenty of black people who condemn all whites as racists for what a few white people do, such as the story about the white guys raping the black woman, or perhaps the actions of the KKK.  Since every black person in the world hasn't heard your views on the subject, are they wrong for automatically assuming you condone those actions... I mean, they should if they're using your logic.  To them you are silent about it because they haven't heard you speak out.   Or maybe every black person should go up to each white person they see and immediately apologize for anything blacks have done to whites.  If that is what you think then you need to start apologizing to every black person for slavery.  It makes about the same sense.   What you're saying above is the exact same divisive crap that Jesse Jackson spews and the reason why there are percieved racial issues when there shouldn't be any.
16. I just read a story on Infowhores that cites a Reuters poll which puts approval of military intervention at just 9% of the US population. This is in contrast to a 90% approval for the invasion of Astan and 76% approval for the invasion of Iraq. Yet Bush is the big war monger.
17. Also known as "Constitutional Freedom Fighter"! Paul 2012!
18. 8%? Sounds like I need to fire my broker. Been a while since I've seen 8%. Maybe what folks should do is divest all their wealth in so-called "Big Business" and then let's see how many jobs they're able to hold onto.
19. And then there are the prophetic implications, if you were into that sorta thing.
20. I saw this type of behavior first hand in Iraq. We'd meet with an elected or appointed community leader who openly talked about the culture of division created by Saddam and how Zarqawi was an evil outsider trying to split the Sunni and Shia Iraqis, but these same people would be going out at night and killing or pillaging other Iraqis from the opposing side. It's like they understood it on paper, but were just as much part of the problem as everyone else.
21.
They may not be responsible for the actions of other blacks, but if they do not speak out in opposition to those actions, they will be convicted of approval by their silence. ]
How in the hell do you know that? Because you don't see it enough on MSM? What is the appropriate amount? Do you need black people to approach you on the streets and tell you their opinions or apologize for other black people? This is an incredibly racist notion to suggest that all black people have a stake in the race game. What you are suggesting in your words there is that black people, who have ABSOLUTELY NOT A DAMN THING TO DO WITH OTHER BLACK PEOPLE, are required to speak out or their silence is approval? What in the fucking fuck are you talking about?
22. Why would it matter? If you're in fear for your life then you're in fear of your life. If you are more concerned with being prosecuted than staying alive then you aren't in fear for your life, obviously. Regardless what happens afterward, we all have a basic right to life and a right to defend that life. A court of this world can't take that away, they can only hold you accountable afterward. Staying alive and keeping my family alive trumps anything else, and it should. All this war gaming nonsense I read in these threads tells me that folks aren't worried about staying alive they're just wanting an excuse to shoot someone when it is within the limits of the law.
23. For me it means surviving. Perhaps I look at it from a different angle. I would never use deadly force unless I was in fear for my life or the lives of my wife and kids. Obviously anything that happens to me would immediately remove all barriers between sociopath(s) who have forcefully entered my home and my family. If I risk my own life to intervene verbally I am ultimately putting their lives in danger. I see no reason to do that. It is stupid and reckless to risk your family's life because you're worried about being sued or prosecuted. None of that matters if your family is raped or killed. I've had this scenario in my own family and have mentioned it here before. Four of my family members were assaulted by armed intruders on their rural property. My uncle shot one of them three times, which ended the incident with the criminals retreating and later seeking treatment at the hospital. The one who was shot survived, but had permanent medical issues, such as having to crap into a bag, and died a few years later from medical complications. The whole incident cost my uncle less than $.50, or however much it cost back then for 9mm ammo.
24. I never argued about the inequity of the law or how it is prosecuted. In fact, if you read back to my very first post on the subject you'll see that I acknowledge the issue and don't agree with it. The only thing I have argued against I this thread are folks who believe that black folks, as a whole, are partly responsible for the racist actions of other black people. They simply aren't. If it they were we would have to apply the same logic to white people. That is the only thing I've been arguing.
25. There is absolutely nothing that I value above the lives of my family that I'm supposed to protect. When somebody forces entry into my home they are assumed to be there to do them harm. I don't have the luxury of giving the criminal the benefit of the doubt. He lost that when he forced entry. The locked door was his warning. No lawsuit, fear of conviction or any other superfluous reason will trump my duty to protect my family. I won't gamble on their lives by giving an intruder the opportunity to disable or kill me, thus leaving them unprotected and at the mercy of a sociopath. If other folks are cool with that, then by all means, worry about civil suits. I'll worry about keeping my family alive.
