Okay. Yeah, downrange they have a lot of access to a variety of controlled meds, and often there is a surplus that isn't on the books. In garrison it's a different story, yet he apparently was still able to get his hands on other meds from work and abuse them.

I had a lawyer buddy like that once. Coincidentally he was also involved in a shooting with CPD. He lost worse than the scumbag here.

Best one in town, eh? Not the one who was the armed robbery victim only two blocks from the police station, right?

That's what they're referring to when they say "decimated".

36 million fatalities? As in dying from unnatural causes? Source?

He did not get these from work. He ordered them offline.

I never said I was an expert and had all the answers. I'm just telling you what I see as a waste of money and a violation of the Constitution. Surely there are better ways to catch drunks as well as punish them. I hate that we come up with BS solutions to problems because the real solutions are too hard. Now, I'm not gonna go out with video cameras and pick fights with cops. Nor am I gonna burn down the DAs office because he lets repeat offenders who kill people plea down to probation. The whole system is effed up royal. The solution isn't to crap on the Constitution. I ain't above average smart, but I do know that.

I'm basing my opinion on the experiences of a man with over 3 decades on highway patrol. I don't care what the SCOTUS says.

Nope. I'd rather pay more.

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?
TMF replied to TMF's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
It sounds to me like he's done. They're gonna need something to distract from this distraction. Obama is probably on call in the Oval Office right now, waiting for a white guy to kill a black guy. -
I don't agree that DUI checkpoints are effective or legal based on a very basic interpretation of the Constitution. At the same time, I believe that snot nose YouTube rangers who go looking for a fight with LE don't do anything but look like idiots and invite the buttpain they deserve. When it comes to cameras, sure. Nothing wrong with taping interactions with law enforcement. They work for us after all, and sometimes there are bad ones. What gets me are the ones who do stuff to intentionally pick a fight with LE so they can post on YouTube how cops are dicks. Well, it ain't as if the cop woke up that morning and decided he was gonna screw with the first person he came across. Right, wrong or indifferent, when you pick a fight with a cop don't be surprised if you get your wish.

Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?

Meh, every few months something comes along that is supposed to trigger WW3. I even got to participate in a couple of those wars. I don't see anything happening here of significance, especially now that all the western powers are back peddling, and Obama seems to be accepting his empty promises regarding his "red line". The rebels don't need our help to stay afloat. Insurgencies aren't lost on the battlefield. They're lost in the hearts and minds of the supporters. The rebels can keep this going for years to come, and it looks like they will. Things will only settle down once folks get their fill of blood and the two sides come to some sort of agreement to coexist. Like all Arab conflicts, the tension will always remain and it will flare up every few decades to remind people how much they dislike seeing everyone around them die. Rinse and repeat. It has been the history of the Arab world back before they were bowing to the moon god. I don't see it changing in my lifetime. -
I'm pretty sure that I have the right to tell a cop that I had consensual sex with his wife while he was on shift the day prior in which I did some especially degrading acts to her. I'm also pretty sure that cop would knock me out, although he would be legally wrong for doing so. Even though I would be well within my rights to do what I did, and he would not be within his rights to do what he did, what would be the point of intentionally initiating a confrontation with him in the hopes he would violate my rights?

You're contributing to the rampant problem with drive-by bayonetings. Maybe some day Congress will pass common sense legislation to address the problem.

This is like banning sporks in the school cafeteria because a kid brought a bowie knife to school.

Done: http://news.yahoo.com/russia-sending-warships-mediterranean-report-082257880.html This may or may not have influenced the recent 180 in Obama's rhetoric, but the message is clear. -

Looks like that may happen: http://news.yahoo.com/on-syria--obama-says-eyeing-%E2%80%98shot-across-the-bow%E2%80%99-222156121.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/syria/10272555/Cameron-backs-down-on-urgent-Syria-strikes.html UK is backing away; France has changed their language to "diplomatic talks". I'm thinking a combination of domestic opposition against intervention and the Russians posturing. -
Apparently it is a pretty popular recreational drug, like other prescription pain killers. I don't see the draw either. I've been prescribed narcs on several occasions post surgery and only one of them had any sort of euphoria associated with it, but even then it wasn't all that great. Not better than a couple glasses of Jack anyway. I think this POS was taking whatever he could get his hands on because he is just a hopeless lowlife. It isn't fair that he took the life of someone who was actually worth something, and will now walk away from this a free man in a matter of months. Hopefully he stays close after he is released an CPD can bust him on drug possession. He'll probably go to jail longer for it than for taking an innocent life and shooting a cop.

Pincus suggests verbally warning home invader
TMF replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Rambo up? When someone illegally forces entry into my home where my wife and kids are it's called a home invasion. Automatically assuming deadly force is the best way to eliminate the threat to my family is "Ramboing up"? Well in that case, they drew first blood, not me. -
Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?

What's funny is that his motive is one of the two, but both are equally evil in their purpose as they are designed to advance him politically, but do nothing for the sake of our country. -
Syria: Does Use of Chemical Weapons Change Anything?

I agree that this administration has a history of throwing out shiny objects in order to distract from their own woes. One of the more recent examples was the White House and DOJ stirring the pot after the Zimmerman verdict. But I think this one is way more two dimensional, and shows what a screw up Obama and his advisors are. What's going on now goes back to when he made his "red line" comments. It was a vague and arbitrary comment to throw out because he was told the polls suggested he needed to look tough or something. He responds by throwing out idle threats and making them seem not idle. He had no intentions of backing it up no matter how bad things got, which is why he made the threat so vague. Then Syria (as far as we know) uses chemical weapons. At this point folks are left to assume this has crossed a serious red line; a nation's leader gassing his own people. If Obama does nothing now he looks impotent and the word of the US has lost credibility. If Obama does do something he looks like a warmonger because he's involving himself in a fight we have no place being involved. So what is the obvious political solution? He is stuck between two crappy courses of action. The answer: split the political difference. He will launch a bunch of tomahawks at non-strategic military targets within Syria, which will make a bunch of noise and allow him to save face after he ran his mouth. He won't commit any troops or manned air assets as to avoid getting into a shooting war. Assad will continue doing what he does. -
Death is a gift to this guy. I support the punishment and the meaning behind it fully though. The best thing that could happen is he somehow began to overcome his paralysis in the days before his execution, in order to give him hope of something just so we can snatch it away. If I had it my way we'd carry out the sentence by once a week entering his cell with a revolver, loading one round into the cylinder and spinning, putting it to his face and pulling the trigger. This should happen once a week until he's finally shot. The anticipation would be the best torture.

Because not getting laid for years at a time make people do stupid things.

Self administered. This POS was a medic, and had a history of drug abuse with controlled meds acquired from his job. He had recently been reduced in rank and was facing other punishment for being a POS. The ketamine was purchased through an online pharmacy.

He was indicted on second degree murder and two counts of attempted murder for engaging the police officers. The sole reason why those charges were reduced by the jury to reckless homicide and two counts if reckless endangerment is due to the drugs in his system. His entire defense was that he didnt know what he was doing and therefore had no intent to do what he did. Being on drugs or alcohol is not, and should never be an acceptable defense. The jurors got it wrong. I followed the case and heard the evidence.
