Corker Has Buyer's Remorse Over Obama
TMF replied to gun sane's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Blah blah blah. He didnt want to listen to the 9 out of 10 Tennesseans who told him we didn't want to intervene in Syria yet he has a change in heart when the President's position is completely untenable? Eff Corker. He's full of it. -
I think it was shotgun news that I saw the kit. Handguards included. It was a while back but was cheap. There is actually a guy on gunbroker that specializes in all that retro ar stuff. It's where I got my A1 grip, original car handguards and metal collapsible two position. He's on there somewhere if you look around.

What ever happened to all that "free market" talk? I guess it only works when you're gouging but not when you get called out on it in front of everyone. Free market goes both ways. You can buy up all the supply and make a few bucks, but people absolutely have the right so throw your sorry ass under the bus.

Letter to the American people from Vladimir Putin
TMF replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I thought that it was just me thinking this. Obama is a lying jack wad, but f*ck Putin and those little sh*tty horses that he rides while making those shirtless gay propaganda PSA's.
Samantha Bee did a great story on the Daily Show last week where she interviewed a member of a Russian think tank. When she points out that Putin looked like a gay Minotaur who looked like he'd be leading a pride parade I lost it. Well I expect Rahm will have his goons enforce those laws to the extreme from day one. Hopefully when that happens the NRA will throw their weight behind it with lawyers and get some case law to negate some of that nonsense.

Letter to the American people from Vladimir Putin
TMF replied to Raoul's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Thing is, Russia is actually trying (at least in public eye) to do the right thing. Talk with Syria government and get them to turn over weapons and allow UN inspections. What Obamma should have done instead of going out and making speeches and trying to get support to pull the trigger was, should have talked with Russia since Russia and Syria are allies and got Russia and USA to jointly have talks with Syria jointly. This time, I think the American people saw Obamma as a warmonger.
Make no mistake, while Putin says "the right things" he in no way cares or is trying to do "the right thing." This is all a matter of self interest and opportunity. Not that I disagree with most of what he says, I just know he's not saying it for the right reasons. At any rate, Putin is playing chess while Obama is playing checkers. At this point, however, there is not a damn thing the administration can do to look better or save face other than admitting that it ain't our business and we're leaving it to the Syrian people and the international community. Obama and Kerry painted themselves into a corner, so all of this nonsense is of their design. -
Hmm, I remember seeing A1 kits for sale a few years ago which included barrels, sights, handguards, pistol grip, stock, and a few other A1 parts. I built a commando replica using an old Colt A1 upper... even scored the metal carbine stock.

For me it was more dramatic than buying a flag at Walmart and putting it on the front of the house. I went down to the Army recruiter and began working on my contract to go on active duty, which would later take me to several combat zones and set the stage for meeting the mother of my children. Before every mission where we left to ruin the life of the enemy I remembered that day so that I could channel that rage on those m'fers.

Between Iraq and Afghanistan I've been around dozens of working dogs operating in much worse temps than 90 degrees for much longer stretches that 20 minutes. They can do it, but it takes a lot of attention from the handler. It's the totality of the situation that cues the handler when to take a break for the sake of the dog. Mals have such a drive that they might not show any signs until they are beyond hear exhaustion, so it's difficult for handlers to tell sometimes, especially if they believes the animal was well hydrated prior to the track. I'm betting that dog was going full bore up until it collapsed and the handler likely considered cutting it short prior to that but thought the dog was working just fine and could continue.
Sandlot, The Bad News Bears (both the original and the remake), Major League and Kingpin. Sorry, I have several favorites.
Agreed on all accounts. I don't like most sports movies because they follow the same general format. Way too cheesy for me to enjoy. Adding the comedy in there makes it bearable. The inspirational sports movies make me cringe... cliche after cliche.

Let's not judge the handler. He, above anyone else, would not want something like this to happen. The handler perhaps misjudged the conditions. It happens. They go through a lot of training together which allows the handler to have a pretty good idea how hard the dog can work before it needs to break. We don't have all the facts. One thing I'm sure of is that handler is beside himself with grief over his partner.

They really went the extra mile with me. They first treated me like crap, then lost my luggage. Then they upped the ante by treating me like crap after losing my luggage. It doesn't get better from there.

If it weren't for first responders running the evacuations the numbers very well could have been approaching six figures. Thank God the towers stood as long as they did.

It's the cat's ass. I started flying them a few years back at the recommendation of a friend. Not a bad experience yet.

Yeah, I'm with you. I wish SWA did international flights. I'm a United member, but domestically I almost always fly Southwest. United isn't too bad. The last time I flew AA was about 10 years ago. Never again for some of the reasons mentioned and about a dozen more.

That day changed the entire path of my life. I'll never forget as long as I live.

Three Russian Warships Approaching Syria, China Joins the Party
TMF replied to ted's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I didn't interpret Kerry's statement that way. The way I interpreted it was Kerry spouting off at the mouth and the Russians calling him on it. On one hand I'm glad we're moving away from the idea of getting involved in Syria, but on the other hand we just had the Russians step in a negotiate the peaceful resolution in the situation. We're the US; we should be perfectly capable of taking care of that ourselves. What an embarrassment all this has been to our country. Obama has made us a laughing stock of the world. -
OK, I know no one else is going to say it......

I'm not convinced that she's any worse than Obama, but then again I thought Obama couldn't be worse than Hillary. -

I don't have a problem with either one. I mean, ideally no one would be handing out government cheese unless they were homeless, disabled or such that they were so destitute they couldn't feed their family; as in not having a red cent to their name nor having $300 air Jordans and flat screens. But if someone is gonna do it I don't care what they believe in.

If my wife was going through my phone and saw that pic saved she would think there is something seriously wrong with me.... and then vomit. -
I was hoping to watch some real news while I was eating my lunch, yet this story is what was dominating the airwaves. Why are we being forced to care? This couldn't possibly be generating ratings.

He's so dreamy....

It's all ash and trash that still tote them around. I haven't seen grunts running around with them. I'm assuming the ones I've seen sporting them are Nat'l Guard/Reserve or some kinda super-POG low density MOS that time forgot. Hell, I remember being in the Guard in the late '90s and our HHC was still running around with M16A1s! Those things wouldn't even properly fire the ammunition we were issued.

Necessity. Believe it or not there are still Army cats still running around with them. Mostly Fobbits, but they're still around. Of course, the Afghans have them now, so they are all nice and shiny. You know they love to take the finish off a rifle.
