I don't now the full situation. I'm certain every house in that neighborhood was evacuated though. Between displacing hundreds of homeowners and having most of the police force tied up on overtime keeping this crime scene closed off I'd say there's some good reasons to effect and end to the standoff. I don't know, I wasn't there. What I do know is that his age is irrelevant.

Well, this will stop all those gangs who get lowers and build their own ARs for drive bys and stuff. I can totally see how this law would target criminals and not law abiding gun owners.

So, how are regular bear cops supposed to enter and disarm a person who has already fired shots and made their intention to kill officers known? Beat cops don't have access to whiz bang cameras, gas and distraction devices, nor are they trained on them. If you want regular beat cops to be trained on that sort of stuff and have that sort of equipment then write your city leadership and let them know you want your taxes raised so that the local LE budget can support it. If regular cops had to go in there to disarm him there would be dead cops. What are they supposed to do? What would you do if it was your job to disarm someone who is trying to kill you?

I haven't, nor ever will, understand pageants. I mean, I like boobs and the self objectification of women who pretend as if they want to be respected for their intelligence and personality, but I just can't imagine sitting through more than a few minutes of it without being sad for them.

Ha, the cop had the one dude cornered, closed distance and then pushed at him telling him to "stay back." I would have responded just the same if someone got in my face and then tried to put their hands on me.

You have to believe me, I tried. A guy I work with used to be all about Alex Jones, so I'd hear about the wacky crap that didnt make it to TGO or the Drudge. It was so painful to constantly debunk this stuff that seemed to top the previous moonbattery. For a while I thought that maybe Alex Jones was doing conspiracy theorist satire, but then came to realize he's just another money grubber feeding off a willing market of distrust for the gov. Kinda the same way guys troll clubs for girls with low self esteem... to eff them. Was really hoping it was all satire.

I think Alex Jones is to blame for how audiences interpret his information to be unreliable. Kinda like MSNBC. But even MSNBC gets facts correct sometimes, like the date and time, but I would still be looking at how they present the date and time with a great amount of skepticism and suspicion. I guess what I'm saying is, the reader isn't to blame for why they find an information source suspect; it is the fault of the information source. I won't even bother reading articles on infowars linked from Drudge any more because most of the time I can debunk them in a matter of minutes and the ones I don't bother debunking are usually filled with emotionally charged words designed to elicit a response from the reader to otherwise innocuous information. I don't need a news source to tell me what my opinions are. I read Oh Shoot's posts for that.

Exactly. This same formula can be applied for just about any business that practices in legal, yet unethical business. It's why many gun stores go out of business; they do something shady, word gets around in a small community and that's the end of that. Gougers should expect the same. Don't like it? Well then don't gouge.

Yeah, I just looked on their website and saw that. I just want to confirm that the upper is billet, since I know CMT makes forged uppers as well. I know because I have two from them I bought a few months back.

Tweet That Has Some Furious with the Tennessee Lt. Gov.

And they are wrong for saying it. Besides, I'm always curious to hear someone make the case how Assad is more of an enemy than the people he is killing. I'm all ears. -

I don't understand the controversy. It is truth. The so-called "moderate" rebels have allowed al Qaeda affiliated militias into their order of battle. If al Qaeda suddenly reversed their position on Islamic fundamentalism and terror as a tool to achieve it then things would be different. For example, I fought along side a former al Qaeda in Iraq unit after they rejected fundamentalism in order to rebuild their infrastructure and create a better future for their kids. I got no problem with that, even knowing full well that they were responsible for the deaths of my comrades. That is war for you. These guys aren't rejecting it; they see the situation in Syria as a means to establish a fundamentalist government similar to the one just ousted in Egypt. Anything we do to intervene against Assad supports their agenda. -
For all the Obama policies I disagree with, bombing the moon seems to be the most rational thing to do by comparison.

Buddy, that's how I end up with a new AR every so often. I realize all I need is a barrel or something then suddenly another AR materializes in the cabinet.
-
Well, my plan was to secure one of those neato billet uppers from Joe Bob's with the side charging handle if CMT didnt provide a billet upper.
-
Yeah, I just wanted to clarify since I would definitely get a billet upper from them to match the billet lower, but I need another forged upper like I need a hole in the head.
-
Think you got it backwards. I already have two forged uppers sitting in my cabinet from these guys.
-
Just to clarify, are these regular CMT uppers or do they make billet uppers to match the lowers?
-
One upper and one lower.
-
Huh? This is satire. Some of you folks need to get out more.

Well I haven't been buying any at all. I won't contribute to the nonsense other than buying ammo from a dealer when it's available. I'd rather not shoot than line the pockets of some POS trying to profit from market panic.

Great FN Scar Deal (or scam) for someone near Clarksville
TMF replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
Just seems like with the prospect of firearms being involved it would raise eyebrows enough to get interest. At some point money will change hands though, if it hasn't already. I'm sure they've ripped off plenty of folks so far, so it would seem like this would fit the MO of other online crimes reported to them. -
Based on what I can tell from talking to the sporting goods folks at the various Walmarts in my area, there are around 6 guys who are buying up all the stock of .22. Same ones each shipment and they will have buddies buy as well and give them a cut of the profits to get around the 3 box limit. This is the example of the kind of scalping that should earn people a beating. That same ammo is sold for three times or more what the actual retail cost is, so the only hope is to buy online if you want .22 at a decent price, however, now you're in the national competition with all the scalpers out there. At least hoarders have a good reason. Scalpers are just trying to make a buck off their fellow man by keeping the panic going. I hope more scalpers are called out and mentally recorded.

They should be reported to the FBI. I'm sure they keep databases on stuff like this so they can do a link analysis to track down these folks. Surely you haven't been the only one to respond and there are probably some dumb folks that have been ripped off. Every little bit of information matters so even though your report might not yield results, it may help in painting the picture.
