  1.   Welp, I guess we have an idea how she got out in the first place.
  2.       I have no doubt it is a vital crime fighting tool.  However, if there is suspicion of a crime being committed by an individual what's so hard about getting a warrant?  I don't think the issue is about how useful a tool it is, it's how they go about accessing that tool.
  3. The reasoning they used to justify this as consitutional kinda paves the way for the gov to access tracking devices that come factory installed in cars sans warrant.  What doesn't bother me about this is that law enforcement just doesn't have the capacity to maintain a citizen database that can be quick referenced to track each and every person at the click of a mouse.  To get the records and conduct the analysis of even one person is time consuming.  What does bother me about this is how this can, and potentially will, be misused.  I may have had a different opinion a few years ago, but after the whole IRS/Tea Party thing and any one of the dozens of DOJ scandals, I'm not giving the benefit of the doubt any more.  The leeway that is given on the fringes of the Constitution is allowing for way too much politically motivated targeting by whoever sits in the CEO chair.  More and more the gov keeps getting caught doing what 3rd world dictators do to target the opposition.   Perhaps someone can correct me if I read this wrong, but the way I understand it this is constitutional because they are accessing business records, not personal information.  Could not the same logic be used to access your bank accounts without a warrant?  Banks are a private entity, and all your bank records are business records for that entity.  Also, couldn't the cell phone companies just tell the gov to pound sand if they request records?

    Pocket carry

Wow, I didn't know the Sigs went for that much now. I thought I remember the price tags being a lot lower than that when they came out. I've only seen a Solo on the shelf once and that was around the MSRP mark.

    Pocket carry

Probably because their cost prohibitive; not just for people who can't afford it, but for folks who aren't willing to pay that much for a pocket pistol. Nice guns though.
  7. Not to mention FA guns are nothing more than a novelty to criminals. You don't hear those being used in crimes often, just in TV and movies.

So we went from me suggesting you started this thread just to whine and you graduated to insulting my cock size? Didnt think that meant I have huge Internet muscles. I just feel like my genuine response was a wasted effort since you're just here to complain. In the future, just include "this is a thread to whine and moan" that way people don't write meaningful responses back. Problem solved.

I actually have a hard time complaining to managers. The last time I had real bad service that warranted no tip the manager stopped by the table to ask about the meal and service. On one hand, there is the right of the management to know if their staff is screwing up. On the other hand, I might be getting someone fired who is just having a bad day. Maybe his father died. Maybe his girl dumped him. For this reason I take the direct approach by explaining to the sever why I'm not leaving a tip. I figure it will let them know what they need to correct if they want to be successful and keep their job. Of course, in this case the guy was a total piece of crap, and kept making bad excuses for why he did such a horrid job instead of hearing what I was telling him. At any rate, I don't feel comfortable getting a person fired unless I'm doing the firing.
  10. That's because crazy people use guns to shoot up movie theaters. If you make a sign to keep the guns out, crazy people won't bring their guns in. Problem solved.

I'm not getting personal. You have multiple people, including myself, who attempted to explain to you how the industry works in order to give you insight. I haven't worked in that industry since George Bush took his oath of office, so I have nothing to gain by servers getting or not getting tips. We simply were responding to your original post, which you have shown you don't care to acknowledge those points, so really this thread was created for no other reason other than for you to complain about folks who get their wages from tips. I will now get personal though. The reason you have such a disdain for the system as it exists is because you resent folks making good money that you don't feel they have earned, and I detect a little envy in there too. You have zero ability to make such judgments about these workers because you have not worked in the industry and clearly don't value the perspective of those who have. You just want to be mad that they expect tips for service. In all my time serving I can't remember ever complaining about tips other than people who stiffed me. I had an old lady who would come in every day at lunch, take up a two top for over an hour as she read a book and would only order a coffee. Each time I got a quarter for a tip. The same table would have earned me around 5 bucks for the same amount of time. I never complained, was never poor with my attitude or service to her. It's part of the job. Also, I've know dozens of servers and I know what goes on behind the scenes. Yeah, we complain about tips sometimes to each other, but that isn't the norm. The folks who habitually complained about tips weren't good servers, which is why they didnt get good tips, and they never lasted long. The perception that servers are on,y out to get your hard earned money with the expectation of over-the-top tips exists only in your own head. For this reason I have determined you can't be confused with facts or perspective from those who know better, therefore this thread is nothing more than your own personal bitch session to vent you prejudice against those who live on tips. Carry on.
  12. No, I'm saying I have. And I'm not sure what you're point is. So there's a lot of really bad stuff in the Old Testament. Did you stop reading there? Where in the New Testament does it require you kill your neighbor if he doesn't share your religious beliefs? Where is the message of intolerance you are saying Jesus Christ conveyed? You really seem to have a high opinion of your religious views contrasted against a very low opinion of anyone who believes. The irony of you using the term "ethnocentric" while you display your intolerant and ignorant view of believers.
  13. My general disapproval of Obama has evolved into full on rage over the past year, but I still know he ain't the problem. He's just a symptom. He'll eventually fade away, along with Feinstein and Reed only to be replaced by new socialist shells looking to pander to the handout crowd. My line in the sand is about where it needs to be. If we continue down the path we're on our voice will eventually be taken away. With the rising number of takers and shrinking number if producers it is inevitable. But we can't fight that outside the bounds of our laws just yet. As long as we have a peaceful means to overcome (as slim a chance it is) it is only moral to continue to use those means. When we lose that the game has changed and you'll see doing my thing.

You can't avoid the credit card tips being recorded. Add to that you must claim your tips at the end of every shift. So there is a record of it. Cash tips are different since you're just pocketing whatever is left over, but you still claim tips at the end of your shift; it's just that you have the ability not to claim cash tips if you want. Not a smart move if the IRS suddenly wants to investigate a restaurant for organizational tax evasion. Not that I've seen anything like that happen, but the management had all the scary cautionary tales for servers who tried to claim really low tips (like 5% or lower). You could never get away with zero tips if customers are using credit cards. Even if everything was cash sales, you're really messing with the bull to claim zero. If the IRS wanted to come after you they could. Most of my paychecks were "no pay due" because I claimed enough tips that my measly min wage went to Uncle Sam. This translated to owing a little bit at the end of the year.
  15. Kenya is actually very squared away compared to the rest of Africa. The child soldier thing is not very common. It's their neighbors that really have that problem.
  16. The problem is we respond to terrorists by changing our way of life, which is what they want. We lose every time we limit our activities or rights out of fear for the enemy. We respond by wanting total security and peace of mind. Our response should simply be vigilance and avoiding complacency as opposed to putting a tac'ed out storm trooper on every corner and requiring a cavity search to do normal everyday stuff. Americans need to learn the whole WW2 British stiff upper lip thing. Besides, folks are thousands of times more likely to die of cancer than terrorism, yet there aren't MRI machines on every street corner.
  17. I haven't seen Four Rooms yet, though.
  18. Does True Romance count? If so, that has always been my favorite. After that, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs and From Dusk til Dawn. Really, From Dusk til Dawn was more enjoyable than Reservoir Dogs, but the scene with "Stuck in the Middle With You" playing while the dude is getting mutilated puts it out in front. I wish Tarantino would put out movies like that again. Django was a self indulgent pile of disappointment.
  19. But what if the crown had granted us the representation and semi-autonomy we demanded prior to revolution taking hold? Would there have been a revolution at all? It's the big difference between the tyranny we have now and the tyranny we had then. We have a voice today and a legal means to bring about the changes we want and need, versus back then when there was zero recourse for what the crown and parliament was doing except for armed rebellion.

Who's advocating that? When I was a server most of my business was done in cash; around 75%. I think nowadays the majority of transactions are done in credit/debit, just based on my observations while out eating. Not saying it was right, but when I was serving it was standard for folks to only claim 10%ish of their their overall sales for the night. Since there was no way for cash tips to be audited that's how folks did. Now I think that is much harder since people use plastic more than ever due to convenience.

Many moons ago I worked third shift down there in Zimmerman's home town and the only thing around that was open was Waffle House, so I went to that one a whole lot. The service was unremarkable, which I was okay with; I didn't expect much. But I would never equate it or have the expectation of it being service similar to an actual atmosphere restaurant. Being around the country I've been to Waffle Houses in most states that have them. Same service, nothing remarkable other than the attitude of the waitresses; lacking any personality or hospitality. I've always found them not to be very clean. I generally judge cleanliness on the bathrooms since that's the part that is shown to the customer. If the bathrooms are nasty the rest of the place likely is. Then I had the cockroach experience and was done. The wife was there for that one, so there is no chance of that memory ever going away. Thing is, the service never rose to what I expected at an actual restaurant. I don't have a problem with that, but I wouldn't tip them e same as I would a server who did a good or great job. Same rule applies at Waffle House or any other restaurant: if you depend on tips you actually have to earn them. They aren't a given.
  22. Do wha? Says who? Folks with different religious beliefs have coexisted all throughout history; we just tend to focus on the times and places where they fought each other, and those wars are normally fought over ambition, not religion. Last time I checked, Jesus wasnt advocating any violence towards Romans or the Jews, and they nailed him to wood as he died a slow, torturous death. What on earth makes you think his intention was for his followers to be intolerant of others and fight/kill them?

Not meant t insult you. I've literally had a cockroach go across the table while I was in one. I avoid those places like the plague. This is based on experience, not passing observation. Not many places are open in the middle of the night, so choices are slim. After the cockroach thing I've never gone back to one. The service in them is generally horrid, and this is due (in my opinion) a lack of emphasis on service standards. Nothing wrong with that, but folks (in any restaurant) who don't provide decent service won't get a decent tip. Just so happens I rarely experienced decent service at Waffle House. Usually surely old broads who act like they're mad at me for the fact I chose to eat there. Stereotypes exist for a reason.

"Expected" to make? What server "expects" to only make minimum wage? I can tell you, if the job only made min wage no one would do it. It is extremely stressful, fast paced work. Often times your server is working a 12 hour day, and there is only a few hours a day where they're filling all those tables, so when it isn't a rush or they're doing side work after a shift, they're only making 2.13/hr while they're doing it. Also, what meals are you having at Ruby Tuesdays or hooters that costs $25 bucks everytime?
