Meh, the only people I see get the ass over calling it a clip are firearms instructors and anal gun enthusiast. I don't care; I've heard that all my life because that's what every member of my family referred to it as, so it's not nails on a chalkboard to me. Add to that, due to being in the military I'm now conditioned to call them magazines and refer to my firearms as weapons. In the army it isn't a "gun", it's a weapon. I've actually been corrected a few times by gun nazis that "weapon" isn't appropriate.... like it effing matters. I also pronounce "espresso" as "expresso". I know it's wrong, but I do it just to piss off know it alls that like to correct me.

Sad day when we fault a young man for driving down the highway during the middle of the day with his family by suggesting he is in any way responsible because he failed to have situational awareness.
-
Yeah, hose clamps are a must for keeping that on, otherwise it'll just keep slipping off. Still concerned about the burning smell though. That ain't good. I'd investigate that and run a few test loads through under supervision before being comfortable that it isn't a fire hazard.

Hmm. Is the bolt all the way seated when this happens? Also, is the LPK also plastic?
-
Ha, we planned to do the same thing but we couldn't afford the goats. Instead we broke into the school in the middle of the night and cemented a beer keg with our class year painted on it in the quad.

Yeah, the trigger reset issue doesn't seem to make any sense. So I'm assuming that what you're describing is the rifle cycles the bolt, ejects the round and when you go to pull the trigger nothing happens? Is the hammer cocked or forward at this point? If it's forward I think you're lucky you're not having a slam fire.

The best way to learn is to do. I've taken my dryer apart a few times over the decade+ that I've had it. In fact, most things I've learned how to tinker on in adulthood has been through trial and error. It's a learning experience you look back on and value despite it being so frustrating in the moment.

I've sheared two bolt lugs in my time with my service Colt M4. That's with a lot of shooting, but it happened twice nonetheless. First time it locked up the bolt. I actually think that's the first time I used the mortaring technique we were talking about the other day.

I really enjoyed the book. I was having this conversation with a bud the other day who hadn't read the book but just watched the movie. He liked the flick, and I suppose I would have been okay with it had I not read the book first. It wasn't that the movie was a poor adaptation, it was that it didnt adapt anything at all from the book other than the title. This was the big disappointment I think, since expectations were that it would follow the book. I'm holding out hope that they decide to do a sequel and at least include stuff from the actual Zombie war, since this movie only covers the outbreak. Surely they wouldn't title a movie "World War Z" and not actually show the war.... right?

Should show up when they run your DL number, as far as I know. Heck, your HCP number and DL number are the same. Tags though, no.
-
Oh wow. I didn't even think about that when I taught my wife how to change/jump a battery.
-
Now watch the Honest Trailer for it. It is better than the movie.
-
You may invoke the wrath of TGO myth correction with this one. It simply isn't true that your tag is tied to your HCP.

When you are tightening down the hot wire that came loose on the back of your dryer, make sure to unplug the cord from the wall. There's a but of voltage running through them wires, and it hurts.

Funny how you don't see them doing this kind of stuff in Tennessee. This is another example how NY laws which punish law abiding citizens does nothing but encourage criminals to run amok. Never in a million years would a wannabe biker gang of douches engage in all this crap on a Tennessee highway. There'd be a string of dead hoodlums on the road, which once again supports my theory that these people are all cowards who are only emboldened by the weak not defending themselves or having the ability to defend themselves.
-
The guy who got run over was an accomplice to an attack on a defenseless two year old. I hope he dies a horrible and painful death. He deserves a combination of bone/ass cancer. As for his family, they need to STFU. He deserved it. The family running their mouth about their criminal in a coma deserve the same fate for ignoring the terror he and his hoodlum friends put this young family through.

Probably, but that is a constant. Not on hookers and blow though. The Secret Service has shown they don't follow through on payment with prostitutes. Pretty stingy when you consider the per diem rates they're pulling down. -
Marine Corps Officer Who Blew Whistle Being Railroaded From the Top
TMF replied to TMF's topic in General Chat
I think this is spineless leadership bending to the will of Obama. Luckily for these Marines there were officers with integrity who insulated them from this nonsense. While I have my opinions about pissing on dead enemy and posting it on YouTube, I don't believe it warranted the President's involvement or so much as non judicial punishment. Clearly this was pressure from the top to go after these brave young Marines as political fodder. Hopefully, somewhere right now there is a lance corporal taking a deuce in the mouth of a dead Taliban. -

No that's not how it works. I was in the army, so I was getting paid with tax dollars. If I go and spend the money I earn on hookers and blow, that isn't the tax payer's money being spent on hookers and blow, it's my money. -
You're missing the point. In America we must focus blame on people who are the victims rather than the evil people that attack them. I'm sure the guy who was taking his toddler and wife on an outing to celebrate their anniversary was up to no good and the biker gang of 200+ people on bikes with no plates started their day with no intention of committing crimes.

So it looks like the Commandant of the USMC tried to illegally influence the case of the 8 Marines who urinated on the dead enemy fighters. The Commandant wanted the Marines to be found guilty. Obviously we can theorize where that order originated at... I have my theories. So enter this JAG Major who attempted to do the right thing and is not only having his career ruined, they've referred him to mental health services and confiscated his personal firearms. They're also conducting a risk assessment to determine this Major's threat to the installation. Absolutely nuts! Guess who this all traces back to... yep, the guy who is ultimately in charge of the military and immediately spoke out against these brave Marines that simply had to go number 1. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/sep/29/marine-corps-whistleblower-faces-vengeance-from-su/

Well, I was speaking more to the service industry jobs in the DC area in response to one of the posts. Yes, actual government workers should always be prepared for shifting winds in the political arena, but that's true of any industry when you think about it. Hell, Blackberry just let go half their employees. The only difference is one is funded with our tax dollars (well, I guess the gov has singlehandedly kept Blackberry going for so long too). I just feel bad for anyone who's getting canned for circumstances beyond their control. Now, union workers... well, that's a different story. Their unions bring the pain upon them so I don't feel bad when they get shut down. -
Mad Max would have ran them over, shotgunned them as they gave chase then buried them in the rose garden.
