Not really. There were plenty of Jews that worked with the Nazis in hopes that turning in their brothers would win them favor with their Aryan masters. Didnt work out so well for them. Maher is exactly the type of person who would sell his fellow American up the river for a few pieces of silver and guarantee of safety.

Yeah, there are stupid people on the road with bikes and trucks, but the difference here is when one is in such a large group that they completely take over the road. It isn't an individual being stupid at that point, it's a mob. I feel the same way when I see rice burner gangs who think they're in a Fast and Furious movie and they're playing grab ass with one another on the highway. I've seen more motorcycle clubs doing good things than bad. I think now that MCs are so mainstream you have enough good ones out there to shift public perception from the "Hell's Angels" view of MCs. I have several buddies in MCs and they're all normal people who would never commit crimes, let alone mob crime. But one thing I've noticed (and I'm sure someone will get their panties twisted over this) is that the crotch rocket gangs are populated with gigantic douchtards who think their numbers give them complete control of the highway, and they're kinda right since I never see law enforcement intervene. This has nothing to do with people who own crotch rockets, just the folks who decide they're suddenly in a badass gang because they have a fancy looking dirt bike and a spartan helmet. I've seen them a few times in Clarksville where they completely shut the road down so that 200 bikes can all make a turn at the same time; they just block the road where I have the right of way. It pisses me off that they do this, but I guess it pisses me off more that law enforcement allow them to do this. It makes these douche hammers much more brazen once they know the law won't be enforced on them, which results in mob attacks like the one in New York. All fun and games until they screw with the wrong guy and get a half dozen AK rounds pumped into their face. If something like this happens again it should be open season on crotch rocket groups of 5 or more.

Military has had peltors for quite a while. Units with really cool budgets had noise canceling ear pro which wirelessly connected to radios. Don't know how many use them now. As for the rest, they already tried a bunch of stuff like that. The Army scrapped that project a while ago. I guess adding 50 lbs of lightweight sh** onto what a person already humps around isn't very popular, not to mention cabling and batteries. No matter how high tech we get, much of that crap won't be used by the guy on the ground because there is no way to make it not suck bear balls.

She called 911 four times over the course of the incident. Naturally, NYPD showed up after everything was over and made no arrests.

They don't answer the phones though?

Good choice, you won't regret it.

The fivehead of the chick in the dub step video kinda kills it for me.
-
For me it's a toss up between the dub step video and the Stonehenge video.

Even if it was legal to do the gov would figure out how to make it illegal real quick.

Well, technically yes, but you can still drive through there and the range is right off the main highway, which isn't closed. I guess if there is no park rangers there is no one to keep you from shooting?
-
SEALs are never quiet about anything.
-
That's a good question. I'm thinking since it requires maintenance (port-o-johns and trash pick up) they'd close it up. Might try to call the park rangers. I'd think they'd still have LE working out there even with the shutdown.

Well it's October and that means Halloween and Ghost Stories
TMF replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
My wife is still scared of ghosts. Sometimes when we hear one of our kids on the monitor talking to themselves and pretending I tell my wife it's the ghost of a little girl who "just wants to play". Freaks her out every time. -
If only he'd worry himself with stuff that concerned the office of the presidency rather than people he thinks act "stupidly".

Yeah, I'm holding off on my rage regarding the off duty cops. I don't know what the circumstances were or if they even witnessed the actual assault. There were a lot of bikers out that day, and the press could have very well taken a poetic license or not have the correct facts. What is not in dispute is what's in that video. Everyone involved in terrorizing that family and assaulting them need to be removed from the gene pool via woodchipper.

Trying too hard to make this shutdown more than it is...

Good thing this wasn't going on last year this time when we took our vacation to the GSM National Park. I imagine Gatlinburg is feeling the pinch somewhat considering they depend highly in the tourism this time if year. -
Perhaps that's true. I don't know, I've never owned one. I've just seen all the accounts of HiPoint owners who claim their pistols perform flawlessly. I don't believe the reason HiPoints are not the chosen pistol by police departments has anything to do with reliability. Even if HiPoints were the most reliable pistol in the world you wouldn't see departments with them. Not because they're ugly, but because there are simply much better pistols out there in terms of sights, ergonomics, comfort and so on. There are plenty of reliable pistols out there that you won't see PDs with, ever.

This just in............I got SCREWED!
TMF replied to LI0NSFAN's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Yeah, I don't think anyone can claim to be an expert on it. Where I take exception is when people outright make something up. Despite it being the longest bill in history it is still a searchable document, and when someone makes an arbitrary claim it can be referenced and researched. There have been several claims regarding this bill which were proven false or blatant lies. That tells me that someone somewhere just made something up and we bit off on it without fact checking or doing independent research. And nothing against posting something that has been fabricated, since, as lay people we can't be blamed for not sitting down for two months straight and reading this pile of garbage, but wherever the rumor originated from is someone who isn't helping the debate. -

Well no, I don't think it is a matter of defending the ACA, it's a matter of the information being accurate. I see a lot of stuff floating around out there to get people pissed off about the ACA that isn't true. The ACA is bad enough on its own, and damaging enough to our economy and small business, and unconstitutional to boot. When we use arguments that are easily debunked we lose all credibility and take focus off the actual problem. Kinda like when liberals argue for gun control using misleading statistics and outright lies. We should be able to win the debate with truth and logic without resorting to distorted facts and lies. -
Banging another dude's wife is certainly a dangerous thing.

Can't say I haven't fantasized about doing the same thing; door to door solicitors seem to love to show up during my kids' nap time.

FINALLY! A CURE FOR PROGRESSIVE LIBERALISM DISEASE!
TMF replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The ultimate cure for liberalism is for all of us to quit our jobs tomorrow and go on welfare. I would push liberal progressivism back 100 years. -
Well apparently HiPoint pistols are as reliable and accurate as any. I mean, they look like an unholy abomination, but that is just my snobbery talking. I have some expensive pistols and rifles, and I realize that they can be matched in performance by firearms that are a fraction of their cost... they just won't look as good doing it.

Yeah, bolt breakage is really normal when you get into shooting it that much. The point I was making was that no brand is immune to failure. It happens regardless of what you buy. There is anecdotal evidence for failures with everything manufactured, from rifles to HVAC units. Only is it a problem when it's systemic.
-
Misinformation specifically was referring to the claim that anything less than a Colt won't do the job. That just isn't true. Yes, sometimes firearms fail right off the factory floor, but only when it is systemic is it a problem. We know who those companies and models of firearms that have had those issues. Sometimes it is a very reputable company or popular firearm. Most recently Glock has the issues with their Gen 4 guns. That doesn't mean everything from them is junk. Also, let me add that I've had Colt's fail too. I've had two "mil spec" bolts in a government issue Colt shear at the lugs. I've seen one blow up in a person's face before. Yet our military trust their lives to the functionality of this rifle. What it comes down to, on any weapon system, is whether or not it will shoot accurately and reliably. Those are the two main criteria. Getting wrapped up in name brands or nit noid features included on higher end guns versus lower end doesn't apply to the two main criteria required to classify a firearm as viable for self defense. Alls I'm saying is to please not to scare people ignorant to firearms with sweeping generalizations regarding "not good enough" when that isn't true. That is simply opinion. If we're gonna inform people let's do so with facts. Yes, some of those companies make damn fine rifles that are much better quality, but so do manufacturers who sell $3,000 1911s. Does that mean my $1000 1911 isn't good enough to use in self defense simply because there is better stuff out there? We could be here all day making such comparisons.
