That XR looks new, the paint isn't even rubbed off of the frame. That bike was THE beast in its day.

A close friend that I grew up with, whose stupid moments are few and far between pulled a pretty good one one morning when we were in high school. We were about 16 and my dad would let us take his fishing boat out pretty much whenever we wanted, which was about daily during the summer. So we're running late and get to the boat ramp just after day break, we were running late because we had had problems with the boat motor. He's in the boat and I back the boat into the water. The boat was an old tiller stear. My buddy starts the motor and clicks it into reverse to back off of the trailer. Well he forgot to lock it down first. We hadn't bothered putting the cowling back on. Well the motor bucked up and the fly wheel bit into his hand real good. he didn't say anyting at the time and I didn't see it happen. I parked th truck and walked down to the dock, that's when I noticed that he had taken off his shirt and wrapped it around his hand, and the blood had already soaked though. After I talked him out of fishing that day I loaded the boat back up and took him home, thank God he had no permanent damage, but there was tons of blood.

Looks like I have some stiff competition when it comes to stupid but I still think I'm a contender! Like many here I've had issues with electricity, mostly as a young child. At about the age of 3 or 4 I repeatedly played with electrical sockets and got shocked, slow learner on that one. At 17 a buddy and I decided to pick up a roadkill skunk one night and place in under another friends porch. We pull into a driveway and take a shovel out of the back of the truck, toss skunk in truck bed then proceed to back out onto the road which which was on the side of a hill. Very drunk guy comes speeding over the hill and T-bones my truck, it was obvious that the state trooper knew him, ultimatley I totaled my truck because I decided to pick up a dead skunk, guy that hit me was charged with nothing and the trooper said in his opinion the guy was not drunk enough to warrant any tests. At age 19 I had cleared some brush and poured about 5 gallons of gasoline on it. I lit a leaf with a Bic and the next thing I knew I landed about 25 feet away, my grandmother was in the house about 100 feet away and said that she heard an explosion and that the house shook. I suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns over much of my body and have not used gasoline to start a fire since. There are other, better stories, but like many others here I have concerns about the statute of limitations.

My car tends to stay full of trash but that's only because I refuse to throw it out the window.

Handed a fella a gun once and he immediatley looked down the barrel, I just took it back then and told him that he didn't have any business handling guns.

I have so many stories about hanging out at boat ramps. Forgot drain plug, forgot to untie boat from trailer, didn't know how to back trailer, ran boat into back of truck, tried to take off full throttle with motor trimmed up, I could go on. If you ever need something to do on a busy weekend just park at a busy boat ramp and watch the show.

How has or will the government shutdown affected you
10-Ring replied to c.a.willard's topic in General Chat
I depend on tourism from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for my income. Needless to say it is affecting me financially. I do have to agree with Caster though. I'll go wait tabes if I have to, it pisses me off that people, myself included, can no longer use the park but we do need to quit coddling this thing and let it die. If this government were a human being on life support any person with a shred of compassion would have pulled the plug long ago. -
Got married, thought you might enjoy this picture...

Nice I wanted myself and my groomsmen to OC 1911s at my wedding along with my father and FIL since we all had 1911s. Origionally the wedding was to take place on family property but then the venue was changed to a public park where that wouldn't fly :( Congrats! -
Hmm, my pet peeve concerning cops and flashlights is when the cop keeps shining the thing right in my eyes after he has determined that I'm not a threat to him.

If I were using a cooler day in and day out I think the Yeti would be a good investment. If I were using a cooler every single weekend I think that the Coleman would be fine.

Went out taking some pictures yesterday and stumbled across this, is this ginseng?

Cool man, learn something new everyday! I used to be a tire guy, but the shop I worked at sucked and was not into customer service at all, so I didn't get to learn things like that, we could balance your tires our way or tell you to go somewhere else.

I see you already got you some boots but I just thought I'd throw this out there. Merrell shoes. As long as you don't need a real boot, these may be what you are looking for. I've been wearing the same pair for over 2 years, I'm out in the dirt and rocks everyday and they have held up great. I'd pair them up with a good orthodic and you will probably be good to go.

Oh and I highly recommend Discount Tire, I've bought 2 sets of tires from them and have been very happy with their prices, service, turn around times and warranties. I know they have some locations in the Nashville area.

If you can afford them the Michelin LTX tires are awesome. I've gotten 90,000+ miles out of a set on a K-5 Blazer I had. They are pricey but worth the money in the long run. Depending on how the tire is out of balance the chances of getting it to balance with weights on the inside only is slim. They also will not be able to do it with most electronic wheel balancers, which is all most shops use anymore. Sorry man, you might try a black paint pen on those weights.

Ok, now you must explain that avatar.

Bike Trip - 2000 miles in less than 48 hours

What games have you made up while riding to pass the miles? I play license plate A-Z where I go from A-Z with license plate letters. I play the same game with billboards, or anything goes if there isn't much to see. I usually listen to music but back in January I was riding back from Savannah, GA after staying with my father in law. The night before I was to leave I plugged my MP3 player in, the next morning as I was leaving I glanced down at the battery meter to see that it was almost dead. I had unknowingly plugged it into a socket with a switch and my FIL turned the switch off when he went to bed. I don't mind no music in nice weather on pretty roads but January on the interstate just sucked without music. -
That's a pretty rifle, post up more pics after you clean her up.

There is a season on ginseng season in Tn, at least around here the authorities take it pretty seriously.

Lots of people dig it around here. Keeps TWRA and the GSMNP rangers very busy.

I got a similar call about a year ago, fire department was selling tickets to a benefit concert. Their hook was after you told them that you couldn't make it they would tell you that they would give your ticket to a kid with cancer or something like that. How do you say no to that?

Good luck! I considered doing an iron butt earlier this year, after doing some research I found that to have your ride certified by IBA you have to pay a fee, I didn't see the point. It's about bragging rights, and I'm not going to pay. What kind of bike will you be riding?
