Not only do they sell the benefits they also buy stuff with their benefits and resell it. I learned this while working in a grocery store. Very common to see them buy a cart full of cokes or a bunch of steaks and set up shop selling them in the parking lot.

Bought an electronic call once that had some crow calls on it. I took it home and managed to get 3 crows right off the bat. I lived at that house for another 2+ years and never once even got a crow in range with that call again. They would check it out but wouldn't get close. Some decoys would have probably done the trick.

Nothing like a nice S&W. My collection is short on revolvers but I will remedy that one day. a 5 or 686 is 2nd or 3rd on my list behind a 629 and a 625. I don't plan to carry anything other than a compact revolver so I like longer barrels on these guns. At least 6" for me.

Portable Barn / Garage (storage bldg) - Suggestion?
10-Ring replied to R_Bert's topic in General Chat
Very common for the Amish to use power tools, especially on items built for commercial sale. -
We were taught in hunter safety that by using a harness properly you may find yourself in an odd situation but you will always figure a way to get out of it. So far I've found this statement to be completely true. I've found myself in some real pickles over the years but always got back to the ground safely and on my own.

Cursing has little bearing on determining a person's intelligence. The same can not be said for discretion.

That is great! As long as you have.the work thing figured out it's a great place to live.

Just not desperate enough to pay $7.49 for 100 rounds.

The biggest downside to the area is work. That is why I moved away. I around up staying in the same position but transferring to another area for another $3 an hour. That's been a few years but decent jobs are few and far between and the competition is fierce to get what jobs are available. .

I lived in Cookeville for a few years and still have friends there. It's probably my second favorite place in Tn, the first being Blount County. Cookeville is growing fast these days and seems to be getting more liberal all of the time, but it's my opinion that has a lot to do with being a college town. As Someotherguy suggested you can pretty much go any direction from Cookeville and be in a wonderful area. Bend of the River gun range, about 10 miles north of Cookeville is not a fancy gun range but if Charlie is still running it you won't find a more friendly or helpful guy.

I've had fish in my new set up for about a week now. Put a new Pleco in there on Saturday and he was belly up when I came in today. Wife threw away the receipt for him as well, dangit!

We used a fish feeder on a timer when we went on vacation. It worked great. Got it from Wal-Mart for about $12.

I'm trying to convince my wife to let me retire when she gets out of nursing school. She ain't going for it. It's really a shame too because I think that I'd be really good at being retired. Better than I've been at any of my jobs anyway.

I had a friend that drove. His company had been jerking him around for quite a while. After being on the road for several weeks continuously and being promised some time off for the past 3 weeks, yet being assigned more loads, he pulled into a truck stop one day. Mind you this is pre cell phone era. He walks into the truck stop hands the attendant the keys to his truck and asks to use the phone. He calls his boss and says "I quit, you need to come pick up your truck in XXX, the truck stop attendant has the keys." His boss' reply was "You can't do that." To which he replied "I just did, have a nice day." He wound up riding a Greyhound cross country to get home and didn't drive so much as a car for the next 5 years.

What a day, glad you two came out unscathed

I wouldn't throw it away if it was given to me but I have zero interest in owning the gun simply on the basis that it was used in a mass shooting. IMO anyone who would want to own a gun simply because it was used to kill people is sick in the head. I would have no issue owning a gun that was used to take a life, but the fact that it did so would not add any appeal for me.

Your signature line makes it even better!

Whatever kind you like, camo is for the hunter not the deer.

I've bounced around this state all of my adult life. Been in Blount County for the past 4 years and love it, here. No where else in Tennessee that I'd rather be.

Wife either didn't notice the disassembled motor on the table or didn't say anything. My plan was to swap out the top end from another engine. I took that engine apart this morning only to realize that I had a bad piston in it. So, everything in the kitchen is cleaned up and the wife will be none the wiser. I also finally filled up the 55 gallon aquarium that I got last week. I'll let it acclimate for a couple of weeks before putting some fish in there.

I disassembled a dirt bike engine on the kitchen table. In my defense we have two dining tables in our house and this is not the one we eat at. Plus I put cardboard down first and it was the table that I brought into the marriage. My wife will be home shortly, if you guys don't hear from me for a while she broke my computer or buried me in the backyard.

After years of switching between a Glock 23 and a 27, occasionally switching to a 642, and throwing a 1911 in about once a month for fun I picked up a Taurus TCP a few months ago and wish that I had a long time ago. Not a hiccup out of it and it shoots much nicer than the LCP. Being a .380 it has its limitations but I don't mind carrying it a bit, I forget it is there.
