  1. I have a buddy in Raleigh, NC that reports the same thing.

A lot of places won't take a HCP as ID, anyone have any idea why?  Personally I just use my DL for ID, I have no reason to let the store clerk and everyone around me know that I have a HCP.  Of course at a place like Bud's it's probably a given but I just don't make it a practice.

I've been known to shoot cheap crappy ammo in some of my own guns, it cleans up.  I think their concern has more to do with bad reloads.  Can't blame them, I wouldn't want Bubba running his homemade loads through my gun.
  4. I'm missing something here, where do I get the discount coupon?
  5. Sorry I'll never feel sorry for anyone who has to endure the weather to fish.  Not after I've endured the weather to do manual labor so that I can be a productive member of society, which pales in comparison to elements that our soldiers have endured so that we can have all that we do.
  6. I did that for a long time and it worked great for me.  I paid about $85 a year.  If it meets your needs they are great.  I've become spoiled and like to carry around a computer (smart phone) in my pocket now.
  7. Well that's good to know.  Can I still use your referral code and get you a credit?
  8. About as much as the local bar is rehab for an alcoholic.
  9. I'm about to switch to Ting.  I just found out this week that they are now supporting GSM phones.  Got the invite, I just need to order my SIM card.
  10. I'd go with this one http://www.amazon.com/Channel-Surveillance-Security-Waterproof-included/dp/B008UD0EUK/ref=sr_1_11?s=security-surveillance&ie=UTF8&qid=1424381551&sr=1-11&keywords=home+video+surveillance+system You will save a little money even after you purchase a HDD to put in it plus you won't be giving money to those dirty liberal no guns allowed posting hippies over there at the Costco.
  11. We need another photo thread.  We had one but it hasn't been posted in since 2012 and I hate to revive it because it is 7 pages long and probably half of the pictures in it are no longer on their hosting sites.
  12. I've been fortunate enough to get to fly over snow fall a couple of times, it's pretty dang cool.  The best though was leaving Kansas City, where the tops of the stop signs were barely sticking out above the snow and landing in San Diego a few hours later where it was 84 degrees!
  13. Why is this being allowed?  Innocent Americans are harassed daily by the Federal government and called terrorists, but this crap is allowed?  We have become a society that lets our government have way too many liberties in the name of "fighting terrorism."  Yet a group with clear terrorists ties is allowed to set up shop and undoubtedly train to take us out right here in our backyard?  Something must be done, we have to do it for the goats.
  14. On that basis is it okay to raid the pantries of poor widows, after all life's not fair.  I'm sorry Caster, I respect you and usually agree with you, but we're going to have to agree to disagree on this matter.  I see no difference in this behavior than the crap that our politicians do in Washington when we elect them to represent us and they roll on us for a dollar.  All it is is corruption, it's just on a different level and ain't none of it alright.
  15. All good points I used to have a remote cabin and was without power for about 4 days after the tornado that hit Blount County in 2010.  I too was on well.  I had rain barrels that came in pretty handy for non potable water purposes like washing dishes and flushing toilets.  Drinking water is easy to keep and not worth obsessing over.  I just kept about 6 cases of bottled water and a few gallon jugs as well in the basement.  I had oil lamps in my cabin for light.  I didn't use the generator but I will add that you can't have too many batteries and a good inverter for your vehicle can make things easier as well.   A power outage lasting several days is probably the most likely most of us will ever come to a disaster.  Being prepared will make your time spent a whole lot more comfortable.
  16. I haven't turned IT down much but I was usually more than happy to when I did.
  17. Thank you TDR, it seems that the information that I was looking for is not readily available in laymans terms.  I was not aware that I need a TN DOT number as well, thanks for giving me the heads up on that.  I will check into the insurance issue as well.
  18. I have a CDLish related question and instead of starting a new thread I thought I'd throw it in here as I'm sure there are people that will look at this thread and be able to answer.  It's time to start a new chapter in my life.  I have a little money saved up, I got laid off from my job and I'm losing my house in a divorce.  I have no debt.  I was thinking about starting some kind of light trucking company.  I say light because I would just use my pickup.  I've looked over the Uship.com webpage and played around enough to think that I could stay in loads.  What I have going for me here is that if I don't make a bunch of money right off that's okay, I just need to pay for fuel and basic expenses, I have savings and I don't have any overhead right now.  So what I would like to do is use my pickup to deliver loads, I have a 6 1/2x12' utility trailer now and I'm thinking about upgrading to an enclosed trailer as well.  Big question is what licenses would I need for interstate work?  According to TDOTs website I do not need a CDL.  However I read somewhere amongst my research that I need to register my trailer with US DOT to pull it out of the state?  I'm also at a loss as to whether or not I need an MC number?  I think this might be a good opportunity for me right now but I'm trying to do it the right and legal way to avoid trouble down the road.
  19. I like the way you are thinking.  Personally I'd be scared to try it, it seems like the ATF is just itching to make an example out of anyone that they can.
  20. Got another inch and a half or so in Mt. Juliet last night.  Had to get out just now and run an errand.  Some back roads were clear and some were untouched.  Most of the thouroughfares in the Mt. Juliet area were easily passable.
  21. Just call and talk to them and see how you feel.  I'd ask them "What is the best price you can do cash, OUT THE DOOR, today?"  If you like his answer say "I'm coming from Chattanooga, I just have to swing by my credit union and pick up a cashiers check, tell me again I need to have it made out for XXX?  I will be leaving momentarily and headed your way"  I only bring up the cashiers check because a legitimate dealer knows that you will want to have the cashiers check made out for the entire amount and that most people won't be carrying a bunch of money around to pay the difference if the price changes.  I would even go as far as to ask the salesman to text you the final price or even get an app that will record the phone conversation, just so you have a record to show what the salesman promised you.   Don't mean to sound too harsh and untrusting, I'm just a guy that has spent a lot of time in bike shops, I've experienced first hand attempts at a bait and switch, I've had bike shops try to scam me multiple times.  Unless a know a bike salesman personally then I'm not going to trust him anymore than I am an ambulance chasing attorney, or a used car salesman.
  22. I like it. I got the use of one of these puppies recently and they make Keurig look like day old gas station coffee. You just press a button and it grinds the beans and then brews you a cup. Best I've ever had!
