  1. I've had no problems feeding mine steel cased ammo.  I happened to have a fair quantity lying around and it's eaten 100% of what I've fed it without a hiccup.
  2. I wish hippies would stop driving Subarus, they are fine automobiles.
  3. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/15199/   Hard to beat this price.  Add a stripped lower and you are ready to rock and roll!  I recently bought a similar rifle kit from PSA and was very pleased.
  4. Sure it CAN be done but 9 out of 10 of the fools that hang a target on the 200 yard line at Stones River can't put a hole on the paper using a quality rifle and scope.  I think the OPs money is safe.  Would like to hear the results/excuses when this takes place though.
  5. Try tire shops, I used to work at one before I had any interest in reloading. We had buckets of used wheel weights sitting around, we would eventually scrap them but I'm sure that we would have sold them to anyone who asked for scrap value or less.
  6. I've been trying to get a good hummingbird pic for the past couple of weeks.  Problem is I just haven't had the time.
  7. Saw one at mile marker 259 on 40 going West bound today, belly up.  That's the forth I've seen recently within a 10 mile stretch, looks like there are a bunch of them over there around the Carthage area.  I know there have been some spottings in Wilson county as well but doesn't seem like as many.
  8. This has become the norm unfortunately. Personally I don't think it's appropriate when in a group of people to mess with your phone outside of a pressing but brief text or call, anything more than that you need to excuse yourself. Too many times I've been somewhere and seen ten people sitting around a table all on their phones, who are they talking to? BTW I find it extremely rude for two people in a group to send texts to each other because obviously they are talking about someone else in the group.
  9. Thanks for this post too many think it's about beer and barbecue.
  10. I'd trust them but I wouldn't run handloads for self defense. It's asinine but if you were to ever have to stand trial for using them it's just one more thing the prosecution could use against you.
  11. What these people fail to realize is that mail orders provide a paper trail whenever someone buys ammo in that they are handing over banking info and giving an address. Yet these people don't seem to care that we can walk into a store, buy as much ammo as we want, pay cash, and sans being recorded on store cctv remain anonymous. I really think they are looking for a solution for a problem that doesn't exist.
  12. OS is right, AGAIN!  My 86 year old grandmother, who lives alone, secluded, at the end of a road, had that old school thing stuck in her head that I've heard old folks say before, "you can't shoot them till they're inside so if you shoot them outside you need to drag them inside."  I told her "You are 80 something years old living alone out here, once they try to gain entry start shooting and don't stop until you are out of bullets.  If you kill them all there isn't a jury in the world that is going to make you do time over it."  The wording of the law really does leave this one up to be decided on a case by case basis.  Although I think that grandma would be fine to go ahead and shoot in that scenario, someone like myself may not stand as good of a chance of getting away with it.
  13. Just something to keep in mind when traveling west through the state.  Years ago I was driving to Oklahoma and knew I would be needing gas about Memphis.  I figured I would just stop in West Memphis, AK because it wouldn't be as busy and congested there.  I'd say West Memphis was scarier looking than Memphis.  Fill up BEFORE you get to Memphis if you are going that way.
  14. I got tired of pumping all of the time and would usually hold around 4 or 5 pumps.  Only time I would go to 10 was if I was shooting at a far away target or going hunting.  Of course this ability came with the firing of tens of thousands of BBs.
  15.   I remember as a kid having me Daisy Eagle which went about everywhere I went except for school.  I'd give anything to have the skill with my rifles today that I had with that gun shooting BBs.  I could pick a random target and figure distance, the number of pumps, and adjust holdover and hit my target the vast majority of the time.
  16. I can't really toot my own horn as I have a LOT of camera, but I've shot with a girl that has a cheapo DSL and an incredible eye.  She does some really amazing work, I'd say a good photograph is about 90% photographer and 10% equipment but when you start trying to shoot in low light or shoot moving objects those nice cameras start to pay for themselves.
  17. I'd take her and her donuts to the range. RSOs love donuts!
  18. S&W at one time released a JM edition 625, I have been fortunate enough to get to shoot one, shoot it a whole lot actually and it is by far my favorite revolver that I have ever shot. You just thick about where you want the bullet to go and its there!
  19. Depending on how serious you are about your get home bag and your budget to add to it you may consider putting a pack raft in your vehicle. Could be a true life saver if it ever came down to having to use it. Or heck an intertube could be worth its weight in gold for that matter.
  20. Mine went together last night.  Stayed up way past my bedtime putting it together.  The only thing worse than having to wait on shipping and what not is having it put together and having to wait to get to shoot it.  Hopefully I will get rained out at work today and can go shoot.

    PSA 9mm AR

Dad got to the range with his PSA 9mm this weekend.  As much as he's talking about how much he likes his I might have to build me one now.
  22. This! It's even easier to obtain than a driver's license in this state.
  23. I could care less if blowing huge clouds of smoke is what makes a person happy but it crosses a line when they do it to innocent pedestrians because they think it's funny. That deserves a butt kicking IMO. Diesel trucks do nothing for me but I've spent way more time than I ever wanted to in a Cat 775.
  24. I'm really enjoying your work both in your pistols and the write ups. Thanks for taking the time to share!
