  1. This thread just got a little bit more epic!
  2.   Remember that he has visited 57 states.
  3. I really like .270 as well. There are many great calibers out there but I wound up with a .270 when I was a kid and it worked well. I've killed dozens of deer with it, one required a dog to track because it was dark and in some very thick brush but the deer was only 25 yards from where I shot it, the rest fell within a few feet of being shot. Two were hit and got away, one was a head shot that didn't go well and I learned from that, the other drowned in nearby canal and could not be found. In my book that's a pretty good track record, I have always taken good shots except for the time I tried the headshot. The only thing I wouldn't recommend for Tennessee deer is a magnum because they are simply not necessary, and it's my opinion that small calibers such as .223 should only be used by people who have a lot of experience and know what they are doing, if used at all. Personally I own a couple but don't deer hunt with them.
  4. I would ban myself from ever carrying a gun again. But my immediate reaction I suppose would be to get with management and see if any significant items had recently been turned in, then I suppose I would notify police and report the gun stolen.
  5. I couldn't keep it, I would hate to involve the police and a possible bad media frenzy, leaving it would not be an option for me. But there is only one of those options that would allow me to lay down that night and easily drift off to sleep. Some may think believe that they would be entitled to it for finding it, I'm just not comfortable with that personally and our looks like I'm in good company here. Man this place is cool.
  6. Not nearly enough for sure.  I'd say maybe 3 times a month on a good month and 2-3 mags each time.  But that is all guns and not just my carry gun.  I have been trying to run a mag through my TCP each time I get out.  Mainly because I know that it does not function well if it's dirty and I can't bring myself to clean a clean gun.  I will say that the TCP has been 100% since I polished all of the contact points on the rail and the slide.  I usually carry a Glock as well but I honestly don't enjoy shooting Glocks, I probably fire my Glocks less than a half a dozen sessions per year combined.  Basically I get more range time with the guns that I probably wouldn't have on me if I needed them.
  7. That's pretty cool! 3 generations, that's like 9 years right?:-)
  8. As of 2010 Walmart retained all video for 6 months.  You can forget about them giving you a copy, but in a lawsuit I suppose that the video could be supenoaed.  They always have an excellent video system in TLE to protect THEM in the case of a lawsuit, which happens pretty often.  IIRC video can not be deleted at the store level.              - guy that used to watch the cameras at Walmart
  9. Had a couple of juvenile squirrels playing in the yard this afternoon. Didn't get the shot that I wanted but thought this one was pretty cool. Too dang hot tho stand out there for very long.
  10. Participates in thread that gets locked, starts another thread in order to continue the locked thread, that thread gets locked, gets a TGO vacation and then starts another thread asking why. Are you a member of Congress by chance?
  11. Do you seriously not know or are you just trying to stir up more trouble? A quick look at your recent content and it was very obvious to me.
  12. As much as I can't stand hipsters this is a good thing.  It will bring attention to the knife rights movement.  I've never been to NY but not surprisingly they need some reform from what I have heard.  Back in my Walmart asset protection days my manager, who was from NYC, told me not to try to apprehend any shoplifter who I thought may have a weapon, including a knife.  I looked at her like she was stupid (she was) and told her that this is Tennessee, everyone has a knife.  She told me that in New York only criminals carried knives.  I refrained from presenting a speech to the effect of "when knives are outlawed, only outlaws will have knives."
  13. Using Firefox and I can't see it.  Can't see it on my Android phone either.  I used that function a lot so I hope that it is kept.  In addition or instead though I would like to see a list that shows the most recently replied to threads.
  14. Fat rolls at 1:28 part 1.  Yuck!
  15. I enjoyed the read, thanks for sharing!
  16. Why is it that all of the people that scream "it's for the children" in order to take our guns away also believe that it is perfectly fine to abort an unwanted child? It really grinds my gears when Obama gets up on stage and signs anti gun legislation and has a bunch of kids standing around him, but he never does that when he's talking about "a woman's right to choose."
  17. That sounds like what I'm looking for, thanks! I have each firearm thoroughly photographed to include serial numbers and I store then online where they can be accessed from anywhere. Not 100 percent sure that would prove ownership but is say it's a good start.
  18.   I have the safe already, but being in a rental other people will have keys.  The management company assured me that the locks would be changed before I move in but I wouldn't bet my paycheck on that happening.  I may possibly just pick up a smaller safe to keep the HD weapons close and keep the bulk of my collection off site at a safe place, which fortunately is an option for me.
  19.   I would give you some of mine but then THEY would know what I'm thinking.
  20. Ting mobile, uses Sprints network and charges you in tiers so you don' pay for a bunch of minutes/texts/data that you don't use.
  21. I'm making some changes as far as residency and my housing situation.  I haven't had coverage outside of my homeowners and I'm honestly not even sure what is covered.  I will be renting for the next year so I went ahead and checked to see what I had through my rental insurance, it only has $2500 worth of coverage.  To get more coverage the insurance company wants an itemized list of my firearms.  I don't want to give anyone an itemized list of the guns that I own.  Is there anyway around doing this?  I'd rather take my chances and not have coverage than give someone a list of what I have.
  22.   As a Christian I completely agree with this.  You just can't say that God loves all of his children equally yet only gives certain rights to certain people.  Regardless of your religious views that doesn't even make sense.  I have yet to see a passage in the Bible that could even be twisted around to mean that God gave me the right to own a firearm.  It wasn't God, it was the American soldier.    I really don't even know how I feel about the open carrying of a long gun issue.  I do believe that it makes all gun owners look like a bunch a bullies when these events happen, but I feel like restricting ANY kind of gun carry makes me no better than companies like Starbucks, Chipotle, and Target.  I am 100% against any laws that restrict the owning or carrying of any gun, I am also 100% against acting like a fool just because you legally can.
  23. No, I don't even think that it is a remote possibility, I was just saying it would be nice.
  24. I bought my bow in 2000.  I've recently had the urge to get back into archery but saw no sense in spending the money to get a new bow.  Went to Bass Pro Shops this past weekend to have my bow restrung and picked up a new lower end compound.  Man, bows sure have come a long way in the past 15 years!  It probably weighed half of what mine does.  I figure it's going to cost me $250 more to buy a new bow than it is to get my old one up and running like it should be.  I think I'll just get the old one up and running and if I shoot and hunt a lot this year I may pick up a new bow next year.  That leaves money for a new muzzleloader this year!
