  1. I never liked cats until a couple of months after I agreed that my wife could bring one home.  She begged me for months and finally I agreed because I go tired of hearing her whining about it.  It was supposed to be an indoor outdoor, the only time that cat has been outside in the year+ that we have had it was when we moved, but it's okay, she's fun to watch "cat" around the house while she is hunting her toys, she uses the litter box, stays off of furniture tables and counter tops, and most people that come over don't even know we have a cat.  That said I'm not a cat person but I'd say that the percentage of dogs that I meet and like is a lot higher than the percentage of people that I meet and like.  Feral cats?  I'd shoot them on site.
  2. Has Tennessee passed a law as to where the state won't prosecute, awe never mind I don't want any warning points today.
  3. Check your grounds, I've had more issues with grounds than anything else.
  4. My Wal-Mart usually has the 7.62 Tula in stock, I don't buy a lot of it but it's somewhere in the $5-6 per 20 range.  I have learned to stay stocked up on my recreational calibers though.  Last time I wanted to have a spontaneous range session some bozo had hit both of the local Wal-Mart's and bought every last box of Tula .223, which is my current caliber of choice.
  5. The trigger in an LCR is hard to beat in a DAO, kind of made me hate my 642.

    Sunglasses

Not sure what you want to use then for specifically.  I don't like to wear expensive sunglasses at work but I've been wearing DeWalt sunglasses for about two years now.  They are Z87 rated, they run $10 a pair I think the polarized ones are $20 or $30.  At those prices I'm not worried about losing them our breaking them. My only gripe it's that the lenses do scratch easily.  That said I wore my last pair for a year before they needed replacing.  You can buy them at Lowe's.
  7.   I don't feel that I should have to stop and explain myself when I've done nothing but exercise my Constitutional right, but then again maybe that's why I conceal when in public.  Maybe an LEO or someone with more legal knowledge than myself can answer this for sure, but can one not be prosecuted for making frivolous 911 calls?  I think that approach would be a stretch but law enforcement is going to get tired of answering these calls really quick.
  8.   It's always a battle to get to the roadkill before they do!
  9. I sent this to my wife and she has informed me that we have some incorrect information here.
  10. I've been into boating in one form or another for as long as I remember.  However, I got rid of my last boat in 2003 and can count the times I've been on the water on one hand since.  I picked up a pontoon boat about a month ago and I've been spending a lot of time on the lake.  I would never have imagined that so many things could change on the lake in 12 years.  I'm not singling any certain group of people out, in my past I've been a competitive water skier and participated and/or competed in nearly every discipline of watersports.    Ive also been an avid fisherman for my entire life, point being, I understand the frustrations of everyone out there because at one time or another I've been in their shoes.    So, what's the problem?  Seems that everyone on the lake that you are meeting or being overtaken by feel a need to get as close as possible.  I was trolling the other day and had maybe 100' of line out behind the boat and a runabout with a tube being pulled behind it got so close that they snagged my lure.  Pretty sure there was a bass tournament on Saturday, I was in the back of a creek fishing along a bank and a bass boat comes in about half plane dang near washing me up on the bank, he has the nerve to cut in about 100 yards down the bank from me, after fishing for about 5 minutes he's hammer down like a bat out of hell.  The wakeboarders are no better, wakeboard boats throw an obnoxious wake, it's their nature, it's what they are built for.  I always considered it impolite to repeatedly board in the same area when other people are trying to use it.  Not to mention the environmental impact that these boats are having on shoreline erosion.  It seems that everytime I'm on the lake someone does something ignorant that puts me and my family in danger, or just commits some self centered act that detracts from my boating experience.  It's a big lake, there is plenty of room for everyone.  Thanks for listening to my rant.
  11. I agree with you both.  I want a bumper sticker that reads "White, Southern, and Proud"
  12. I thought those cry babies were always talking about tolerance?  I guess tolerance means "accept everything about us and deal with it but change everything we don't like."
  13. Hornaday Critical Defense.  I've seen what they do to ballistics gelatin, never was comfortable carrying a .380 until I found this ammo.
  14. There was recently a Goupon for a class in the Knoxville area.  I'd look for you but I recently got a new phone and haven't needed to download the Groupon app yet.

    Bye Bye Bersa

I think my dad has owned every compact .380 on the market and swears by the Sig.  I was very disappointed with the Glock 42, I really wanted to like it but found it to be too big for my liking for a .380.  IMO the advantage of a .380 is its size and the 42 doesn't cut it.
  16. I remember when I was in school our school district was constantly trying to make news by being the first school district in the state/country do do just about anything.  They just wanted to be noted so they had all kinds of silly programs and rules.  About half the school would rebel against every new rule and they would get the media involved, which made the school system look really stupid.  Talk about the crazies running the asylum.  I think Dickson County needs some of that spirit if there are any kids left that have the guts to do it.
  17. I'd call my local game warden and express my concerns.  I'd bet he will give you permission to shoot it on site.  A simple and polite phone call could mean the difference of getting it taken care of legally versus facing legal repercussions.
  18. I was thinking something like that would solve all of my problems, just have to get it past the finance committee :(
  19. Under 100 feet I'd go with the 20 gauge, it will be plenty effective, I'd say more effective than the .223 especially if it's a moving shot as you will have  bigger margin of error.  I can almost promise you that if you sit and wait he will never show.  but, have you patterned the shotgun?  Everyone sights in their rifles but hardly anyone puts their shotgun on paper to see where it hits at 10,20,30, or 40 yards and it's almost never the point of aim.   Since you are not a hunter let me make a suggestion.  Once you get set up and you are waiting go ahead and draw your gun as if the coyote has presented itself.  I can't tell you how many times I have been out in the woods and found that something was in the way when I got ready to draw.  I would also just keep the gun pointed in the general direction that you expect the coyote to come from as you will want to make as little movement as possible once you spot it.  I had a coyote spook on me at about 40 yards once when I clicked my safety off and it wasn't even a particularly loud safety.  Not sure on the legalities of baiting coyote but if it were to stop to eat something that would give you a good still shot.
  20. Just the guy that I was hoping to come along!  I'd say that it could be considered incident to lawful fishing, but I honestly have no idea why one would use a high powered rifle to fish and would not want that to be my excuse if I were to have to go to court.  It really sounds like a gray area that I don't want to be the test dummy for the case law for.
  21. I've searched T.C.A. and can't find anything specifically addressing this issue.  I've recently gotten into boating and was wondering about the legalities of carrying a rifle on the boat.  Pretty sure that I'm okay if I'm unloaded, not so sure about it being loaded.  Sometimes it's hard to track down T.C.A. codes because they only go into what is illegal most of the time.  I already carry a pistol as well but I see a few advantages to carrying a rifle on the boat... -  If someone else is shooting at me say from the bank or another boat a handgun would be about useless.  Hey, stranger things have happened and there are nuts everywhere. -  It isn't uncommon to see deer or other game while I'm fishing and a lot of that land is considered WMA.  -  Because if it's legal to do so I just want to.
  22.   I've never understood this either.  I'm good at sitting on the couch, why would anyone listen to anything that I have to say concerning aeronautical engineering?
  23. Think about how much better the world would be if a Hollywood type had to get a real job every time a gun was fired and no one was harmed.
  24. I have one just like it I'll let go for $450 if anyone is interested.
  25. I think a bigger problem that we have in America than the number of Muslims among us is people that want to infringe on the rights of others because they don't agree with something.  Replace the word "Muslim" in this thread with "gun owner" and everyone here would be outraged.  Making an attempt to ban an entire religion, which I assume is the premise of this thread, because of the acts of a few is no different than attempting to ban the private ownership of firearms because of the acts of a few.  This is simple hypocrisy, you can't infringe the rights of others and not expect your own to be infringed as well.
