  1. Guess he did get ejected this time...
  2. Just a friendly poke.  I have nothing against 9, 10, or .40 for that matter.
  3. It's for people that can't get it done with a 9mm  :yuck:
  4. I think I have maybe one hunting spot left that isn't too muddy to get a deer out of.
  5. I always figured one could use the defense "I'm not really sure where those came from, I just found them lying around and put them in my gun."
  6. At around $40 a pop for good stripped lowers what is the appeal of the 80% lowers?  I could understand it if lowers were $400 again but last time I looked at 80% lowers they were more than complete ones.
  7. We'd first have to clear it with the foreign companies that own a significant portion of manufacturing facilities in the US.
  8. Just checked out the LEM website lots of products at good prices I'm going to order some casings from them before I do another batch.  Looks like buying in bulk is the was to go on casings.  100 of them will probably last me 2-3 years but they are much cheaper that way.
  9. I have mixed feelings.  As a high school and college student I was a wrestler.  Later I rode motorcycles recreationally and raced them as well. Both took a toll on my body in different ways.  I did lots of things to my body as a wrestler that were not healthy, especially not for a growing boy.  I stayed dehydrated on purpose, I ate very little, certainly didn't get enough nourishment.  I spent hours in saunas wearing trash bags.  I understand that TSSAA has done a lot since I was wrestling to curb these things.  When I was in high school there were rules about what you did and didn't do to make weight but everyone including the coach treated it as a don't ask don't tell thing and the only important thing was making weight.  Besides depriving myself of nutrition I suffered concussions, a shoulder separations and a nose that was broken more times than I could count.  During the course of riding motorcycles I suffered concussions, broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and a severely separated shoulder.  Point being many activities that we enjoy have inherent risks.  Perhaps it could be argued that I didn't make the best choices as a high school and even college aged wrestler, looking back now some of the things that I did were not very smart but I got tunnel vision and all that mattered was making weight.  As a motorcycle rider being a somewhat mature adult I completely understood the risks.  Likewise I'm not really concerned about Tony Romo breaking his collar bone, that's just part of the risk of playing the game.  I do have some concern with high school and college aged athletes that are encouraged by their coaches to make unhealthy decisions and sacrifice their bodies for the schools athletic program.  Once they make it to the big leagues they are mature enough to make their own decisions.
  10. Good to meet you as well.  Glad you enjoyed the sausage I will certainly enjoy that stock!
  11. Just wanted to do a quick update I made about 25 pounds of sausage using Sidinman's recipe.  I did change up a few things.  I used powdered mustard instead of mustard seeds and I added cheese and jalapenos.  I cooked the sausage in two batches the first at 350 for about an hour and 15 minutes.  I cooked the second batch at  300 for an hour and it was much better.  I will be using sausage casings in the future as the wax paper left a huge mess.  I love the sausage and have gotten nothing but compliments on it.
  12. I hope that it passes but if they are going to enforce this like they enforce the HOV lane then I really don't care.  I travel 40 most everyday during HOV hours and there are more single occupant cars than multiple occupant cars.  While we are on the issue of pet peeves I can't stand it when I'm on the interstate with my cruise control set and the same car passes me and I pass them 6 times or more within a 50 mile stretch.  Usually they are messing with their phone when I pass them back and I may even make it difficult for them when they want to pass me.
  13. Man the yuppies around here would probably freak out and move back to where ever they came from.  I'm all for it.
  14. I watch the prices pretty closely, thought about buying some a few months ago, really wish I had now.
  15. I don't like either as a carry gun, both too big, I've tried them and that is just my experience and opinion.  That said I like the 17 better because  I would use a gun like that as a house gun so there would be no benefit for the smaller size for me.  Your mileage may vary.
  16. All PMs replied to.  I have a list long enough to last a while.  If I fulfill everyone I have so far I'll post back up.
  17. Pulled up to my spot this morning and spotted a deer while I was standing by the truck getting dressed went ahead and took it it is already in the cooler processed, headed to work, not a bad way to start a work day.
  18. The catch with this is that the processor still has to get paid.  By following the link above you can buy a "deer coin" for $50, which you present to the processor and they process the deer and donate it.  If anyone would like to pay for processing to donate the deer to Hunters For the Hungry I will be glad to deliver the deer to Lebanon Locker.
  19. Not sure, I took a deer to a processor twice the first year I deer hunted, I haven't used one since.  Houston's used to process deer, not sure if they still do.  Lots of Mount Juliet folks on here, maybe one will chime in.
  20. I once took a window fan and fitted it above the door jamb that went from the living room where the stove was to the rest of the house, it worked fantastic.  I knew a guy that mounted a box fan right below his ceiling to blow it through the house.  Really the higher up you can get it the better it will work.  If there is a cosmetically viable option I'm not aware of it, I was doing that back before I was married.
  21. I have a pair of Busnells.  They are passable.  I actually picked out the deer deer that I took last weekend with them and wouldn't have seen it without them.  They are okay.  My grandmother has some Steiners, man those are some sweet glass, I have no idea what they go for but I'm sure they are not cheap.
