Help finding T.C.A. code about selling wild meat.
10-Ring replied to 10-Ring's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Just what I was looking for! Not sure how I missed that... -
So, I got in an argument (disagreement) with a fella over the legality of selling deer meat in Tennessee. I try really hard to only pick fights that I can win but I can't find a T.C.A. code to back me up on this and I've been looking for a good hour. I have found articles about people getting in trouble for this but I would like to find the code itself.

Bringing my full autos to strategic edge today

Very generous offer! -
That will ruin them fast. Go get some 4x8 sheets of foam board insulation and make a backstop to put behind the target.

Just an observation about hunting and fishing licenses...
10-Ring replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in Hunting and Fishing
The reason out It is a combo license is because by selling it as a combo every single person that buys a license is considered both a fisherman and a hunter, this gets the state more federal money to regulate and support hunting and fishing. Going through both hcp class and hunter safety I'm not a big fan of the hcp class as I consider it to be more or less useless. Hunter safety is packed full of information not only about safety but hunting laws and ethics as well. After having a few bad experiences on public land I can't imagine how bad things might be if hunger safety were not required. Although I'm not certain that some of the people I've come across out there took hunter safety or are even aware that there are laws governing the harvest of game. -
Virginia to end reciprocity with 25 states
10-Ring replied to Chucktshoes's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I see no merit in Tennessee not honoring permit holders from Virginia. There is nothing to gain by keeping good law abiding Virginians from carrying here, they are on our side, they are our brothers, and we should welcome and encourage them to carry here. I don't think the Virginia politicians behind this measure would give a rat's behind if Tennessee doesn't honor Virginia permits. -
The only compliant that I have is that when I kill deer I have to act fast to get them cut up and on ice. I prefer to hang them up, go get breakfast, wait around until help gets ready to help me, etc. This year for the most part it's been shoot, retrieve, hang process. I've killed a couple this year where I didn't think it was safe to keep hunting and waiting for another to wander through. Being this late in the season I don't mind if the warm weather sticks around so I can be comfortably fishing here in a couple of more weeks.

Least happy and most miserable cities in Tennessee
10-Ring replied to TSprint1's topic in General Chat
We need to get the word out, I'm about tired of people moving here. Can't afford a place to live anymore, 4 out of 5 license plates are out of state and they all drive like buttholes, and the population of this town has roughly tripled in 20 years. It may be miserable now but it used to be a nice place. -
That has to be a Photoshop, Hillary Clinton hates America.

A liberal question and his response????
10-Ring replied to bersaguy's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
You know it's funny that you bring that up. I was thinking the other day about all of the liberal acquaintances that I have and how every one keeps a gun in their house. Of course most would never dream that it might be a good idea to carry a gun when away from the home. Most all of these people are way under trained and honestly don't have any business handling a gun. I guess it was just nice to know that deep down inside a lot of those pinheads do support owning firearms. I just hope that is in some small way a win. -
I haven't had a truck that I could put manual hubs on in some time but I used to always swap them out for manuals because I always had problems with the automatic hubs. Sometimes a good cleaning and greasing would fix it when they wouldn't engage.

Good to know, I'm in there a couple of times per week and always look. I've only seen .22 there once and couldn't find anyone to open the case.

Too bad sounds like a pretty cool phone at a very reasonable price.

I'd go with a Glock 26. I have a Glock 27 with a conversion barrel (9mm) and prefer the 9mm over the .40 for several reasons, one of the main reasons being that 9mm is a whole lot cheaper to shoot than .40. Don't let anyone tell you that 9mm is under powered, use the right ammo and you will be fine.

Camo is highly overrated. What's the point if you have to put 500 square inches over it anyway? I own very little camo and rarely hunt in it and the deer don't seem to mind, especially if you are in a blind or a stand. I've shot more deer from a lawn chair wearing blue jeans than anything else. I'd take a quiet and still hunter in full blaze orange over a loud, fidgety, farty one any day.

What modern firearms do you think will be collectable in the future?
10-Ring replied to Erik88's topic in General Chat
Any Glock, they are the Mosin of the future. Ugly, plentiful, and stupidly simple. -
I can't say if the guy shooting the dog was in the right or not but I've dealt with this situation before with my dogs. I've spent a ton of money on fences over the years and have my dogs on leashes anytime they are out of the fence. Therefore, I have little sympathy for someone who lets their dog run loose. If a dog at large attacks my dog on a leash shots will be fired and I will not be sorry for it.

I don't drink whiskey often but I enjoy a glass now and again. Felt like some bourbon tonight and the cupboards were empty. My birthday is next week so the wife told me to go get a bottle of something. Came home with Jim Beam Devil's Cut, not bad attall.

"Smoking, pregnant, and pajama pants, you're a triple F up!" I ain't sayin' that the guy shouldn't have been arrested but I wouldn't have been calling the cops on him.

Hunter orange for squirrel hunting during deer season??
10-Ring replied to Dirtshooter's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Yes, you must wear orange if hunting for anything during muzzle loader, or rifle deer seasons. -
I can't wait until there isn't a 6 year old sitting next to me and I can watch this.

Rethinking HCP carry after San Bernadino
10-Ring replied to jgradyc's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Seriously though. For the past couple of years my EDC has been a Taurus TCP on me and a bigger gun closer by. After this most recent event I have been considering sticking an AR in the truck as well. I really can't imagine a scenario where I would need it but I'd rather have it and but need it... -

Nashville Mayor wasting no time...
10-Ring replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Now Berry has made a statement that she had zero influence on the decision and wants to go through the proper channels to make sure that the decision that the board made was just and legal. I have to give her credit for this. -
I probably grind more deer than the average hunter and I use a food processor. We had one that was 30 years old that we've used for the past 3 years. I told my wife the other day that I wanted a serious meat grinder and she comes at me with a 14 cup food processor from Hamilton Beach, she brought it home the next day and it set us back $50. I ground parts of two deer that had been in my cooler for a few days on Sunday afternoon. It took me about 15 minutes to grind up around 20 pounds of meat. Certainly faster than she could package it with the vacuum packer. I know it's a little unconventional but it has worked great for me. The only other meat grinders that I've used are the hand crank variety which I do not recommend.
