Absolutely not. If he is on the up and up he won't care. If he asks you to turn it off, he's up to no good. Tennessee is a one party state, only one party (you) has to be aware that a conversation is being recorded. LEO in a traffic stop situation is not excluded from that law.

On my 3rd Toyota and my 2nd Tundra now. I have a hard time being interested in much anything else. Just wish they would produce a true 3/4 or 1 ton.

I'm not thoroughly familiar with Chicago law, but I am somewhat familiar. I've carried and kept loaded handguns in my hotel room in Chicago many times. I wouldn't even think of leaving one unsecured in the room though. Of course this is the kind of thing that CNN and Lightfoot salivate over. But from the information in the article, and I'm sure that if there was speculation to the contrary, CNN would have let us know, the guy wasn't a prohibited person, had no criminal background, and sans the boneheaded decision to leave firearms in his room unsecured, was probably a lot like many of us. Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't wrap my mind around felony charges stemming from merely possessing a firearm that is legal to posses. https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/08/us/keegan-casteel-chicago-hotel-weapons-arrest/index.html (CNN) An Iowa man is facing two felony charges after a loaded handgun and rifle were found in his Chicago hotel room July 4, near where hundreds of families were celebrating the holiday, prosecutors said. Keegan Gregory Casteel, 32, is charged with two felony counts of aggravated unlawful use of weapons/loaded. He appeared in court Tuesday and was released after paying a portion of his $10,000 bond, according to court documents obtained by CNN. Police said there was a handgun and a loaded .308 caliber rifle "equipped with a laser and high-powered scope" in Casteel's hotel room. Five rifle magazines were also found, according to Casteel's arrest report. The weapons were discovered by an employee of the W Chicago Lakeshore Hotel who went into Casteel's room to clean it, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said Tuesday. They were near a window "in a very suspicious position," Brown said. The employee "likely prevented a tragedy from happening," Brown said. Casteel's 12th floor hotel room overlooked a portion of Chicago's Ohio Street Beach along Lake Michigan and Navy Pier, prosecutors said during Tuesday's hearing. Brown noted the employee's discovery was significant because hotels have not been cleaning rooms daily due to Covid-19 restrictions. The W Hotel has not responded to CNN's request for comment and it referred all questions from CNN affiliate WLS to the Chicago Police Department. Casteel, who lives in Ankeny, Iowa, was released after paying a $1,000 cash bond. He doesn't have any previous criminal history or issues in federal databases, Brown said. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot told WLS she's "not happy" with the bond amount. "This isn't a firearm for personal protection. What he had were weapons of war," Lightfoot said. "Because he was charged with mere possession and legally, here in our city, the charges weren't of the type that he could have been held. But luckily, he was questioned by the joint terrorism task force. He is now under radar screening of the FBI." Casteel will be allowed to reside in Iowa and travel back and forth for the duration of the case, court documents show. He also had to surrender the weaponry to the Chicago Police Department and was ordered to stay away from the W Hotel. Judge David R. Navarro told Casteel Tuesday that he understands the man is permitted to possess firearms in his home state of Iowa, but added, "clearly we are not in Iowa." Casteel's permit doesn't allow him to carry or have his weapons in Chicago, prosecutors said. Casteel is scheduled to appear in court July 14 in Skokie, Illinois.

I've seen several, it's everything that I expected out of a tricked out Ford Escape.

Rarely do I recommend more power for newer riders, but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a DRZ400 for him considering his height. They aren't crazy powerful, 38hp stock I believe, but can really be livened up with some inexpensive mods. I've owned two of the DRZs, an SM model, and a street legal E model. I've ridden the 230, it was a fun little bike, just a little short on power.

I've owned a bunch of bikes of different kinds. Closest I've come to a cruiser was a Nighthawk 750, rode several and never cared for them due to poor handling, heavy weight, and low power. Owned a supermoto for several years and had lots of fun with it. Super nimble without ridiculous amounts of power. I always recommended dual sports for, well pretty much everyone, they are tough, fun to ride, comfortable when set up correctly, and versatile. I've had some that were smaller and geared more towards offroading that were primarily street legal(ish) to get from one offroad spot to another, and others that were set up for street riding, that honestly had offroading capability limited to fire roads. I've been bikeless for 5+ years now, but when I dip my toes back in it will definitely be a dual sport of some flavor.

Thank you guys for always being on top of it!

Word is that he has been pulling people over and having interactions with the public as if he were a law enforcement officer for years.

Had one stolen in Wilson County 15 years ago or so. A detective called me 3 years later and told me that I could pick it up. It had been recovered during a vehicle stop a year earlier. I was not notified when it was recovered, only when the trial was over. I had all of the documentation when I filed the report, don't know if that made a difference, but I went down to the sheriff's department and picked it up, I might have showed an ID, no further questions were asked and I certainly didn't have to undergo a background check.

I'll tell you the reason that I went with Hustler. I had a neighbor who had a Fastrak and she absolutely beat the crap out of it. Mowed about 6 acres of yard, then mowed several acres of pasture regularly to avoid the hassle of the tractor. All the while, the machine received almost zero maintenance. She got 15 years out of it before she toasted the piston rings (ran without oil) and the motor lost compression. She purchased a brand new Fastrak after that. I borrowed it one day when my mower bring and really liked it. The suspension seat was particularly nice. I figure with the maintenance schedule that I follow, and the fact that I cut 1.5 acres of flat clean yard, there is no reason that I shouldn't be able to get 25-30 years out of it.

Made this modification to my Hustler yesterday. Best use I've ever made of an Uncle Mike's holster.

I hit Defeated Creek for an afternoon, then the next morning two weekends ago. BIG bluegill were spawning. Caught around 50 each day on my ultra light running 2lb line and a 1/64oz trout magnet. Fun stuff!

I bought a Hustler Fastrak about a month ago and I'm absolutely in love with it. The suspension seat is where it's at! Overkill for my 1.5 acres? Absolutely, but with proper maintenance there is no reason that it shouldn't last 25 years or more, which makes it cheaper in the long run than a consumer grade mower. I was actually going to buy a BadBoy but I didn't care for how I was treated at the local dealer.

Not at the moment. I haven't been since yesterday. Which is longer than I like between trips.

Made up some gar lures. 1/4 oz jig head, section of 3/16" nylon rope. I'll give it a go this afternoon and see how it does.
-
Of all things a Crappie Magnet. Started with a trout magnet on 2 lb line and had one on for about 5 minutes on my first cast. Probably lost 2 dozen. I've never seen anything like it, they were everywhere. I don't know that I've ever caught one on rod and reel before. Seems like they are very difficult to get a good hook on.

Caught a couple gar this morning, going to give this a go, how do you cook them?

The state of Tennessee has a ton of listings, I've never seen a middle manager do less.

I work from home or in the field 80% of the time. Pre covid it was more like 50% of the time. I have an office in Nashville that this pandemic has shown to be unnecessary. However, the powers that be like us to show up for posterity. Quality of life is much better when I'm working from home. I save roughly an hour and a half per day traveling to and from when I go to the office. I also really like being able to get out of bed 10 minutes before I sign on. I'd have to turn down the $30k simply due to having to go to the office daily would make my job unbearable.

Restrict NEW members from sending private messages?
10-Ring replied to TGO David's topic in Feedback and Support
Very reasonable. Although I bought my lifetime benefactor membership a while back, it wasn't all that long ago that I just couldn't afford a yearly membership. Consequently, I also wasnt buying many guns in those days. Even though the state of my finances left much to be desired, I'd at least like to think I contributed to the forum through my posts, probably not so than I currently do. -
I've had several cheap ones and no expensive ones. The cheap ones have worked fine for me. I've had 5,7,8, and 12 foot nets. The smaller ones are much easier to throw for me. Interesting things I've caught - 4 pound largemouth - about 20 tilapia in a single cast at GSP. - about 10 white bass in a cast. Honestly, if I'm on bait, I have as much fun with a cast net as I do catching big fish.

Great example of why it wouldn't be my first choice, but I welcome it as an option. -
Gender reveals are getting a little silly.....
10-Ring replied to Handsome Rob's topic in General Chat
I didn't realize so many people here got their feelings hurt by shooting guns and blowing stuff up. Nothing is wrong with doing whatever kind of gender reveal that you want, if you are expecting a child and think that gender reveals are stupid, then don't do one. The problem lies in the people who don't understand how to properly handle tannerite, the rest of the tannerite related gender reveals don't make the news.
