Go buy some good quality spoons and learn to do it yourself. It's a PITA the first couple of times but you will save a fortune doing it yourself. I used to set the wheel in between two 2x4s and back my car up on them to break the bead. Primitive but it works, helps a ton if you have a friend to help. Not joking about buying quality spoons though, if you get small cheap ones you will learn very quickly how far you can throw them and the extent of your personal 4 letter vocabulary. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions. One other thing, if you don't have stands for your bike... I put 4 eye bolts in my basement ceiling and bought a 4 pack of heavy duty ratchet straps for about $20. For less than $25 I have a rid that will pick up any bike that I own and suspend it from the ceiling. I wouldn't try that with a large cruiser or heavy touring bike but it works fine for dirtbikes, motards and sporties.

You would think they would give you a half decent price if you were buying that many.

I know of one website dedicated just to people who do things such as this. If you fit the demographic of the guy that revs his bike at a stop sign then you better have some thick skin before clicking the link, otherwise you may get your panties wadded up. http://slayerhater.com

I agree, but what is scary is the fact that around 17% of the US population is already on some sort of government assistance. These people will certainly not support eliminating it. Then you have the sympathizers who are not on assistance but think it is a good program. Sway a few fence sitters and the majority of the population thinks that assistance is a good idea. That scares the hell outta me because it's obvious to me that pride and work ethic are a thing of the past for the citizens of this country.

Ever notice that they do it when they are backing up to a curb as well? No, your Harley does not have a reverse ###hole, and everyone hates you. I own 4 motorcycles by the way. Not all bike owners act like this, just a good 90% or so. This should explain it all....http://www.southparkstudios.com/full-episodes/s13e12-the-f-word

Ok here is the deal with the soft drinks. The lazy overweight hussies in the original post probably were not taking these beverages to Bristol. I rarely buy soft drinks but what do they run? About $7-7.50 a 24 pack? The EBT people willl come in and buy a basket full of cases of soft drinks. They then sell them for $4-5 a case CASH. Bingo, there is your liquor, beer, and cigarette money. This is a huge peeve of mine. I have zero issue with a service man or woman using EBT or WIC, I don't care if they are eating steak everyday. They deserve it, they should be eating like kings for the sacrifices that they make. I'm afraid that is not the norm though, it seems most people that are on the system abuse it. It really ticks me off that I have never taken any assistance but I've had times when money was tight. I didn't buy meat because it is expensive. I killed what I could, bought a lot of rice and beans and ramen. I got by but I wasn't eating fancy stuff. Mean while gutter trash over there hasn't given the first thought to getting a job but they are eating shrimp and steaks on my dime, see anything wrong with this? If it was as hard to get EBT as it was to get NFA items we would be in much better shape.

Wife Side-Swiped a Pole With My New Truck Today
10-Ring replied to Seabeejason's topic in General Chat
Anytime I get a new motorcycle I go out and gently lay it on its side and say "Okay, you have been down, I never want to see you in this position again." They never listen though. -
Firearms as investment/savings? What would you buy?
10-Ring replied to BLACKVANDRIVER's topic in General Chat
Excuse me for getting slightly off course. If you are looking at something gun related to invest in I'm buying high capacity Glock mags every now and then. They are running around $30 right now so they don't break the bank to pick one or two up a month. But, if for some reason they should ever become banned again their value will skyrocket. They were running well over $100 during the AWB. And if they don't ever get banned they will retain their value. Not going to really get rich either way, but may make something for someone to invest a little in easily. -
Whatever works for you is great. I bought a 23 and didn't like the size of it so I rarely carried it. I switched to a 27 and like it a lot more. I am pretty small framed though. Not knocking what works for you at all, just thought I would toss my experience in there. I love shooting 1911s, they are my favorite pistols for shooting. I prefer to carry my Glock though. I just don't seem to worry about putting wear and tear on the Glock. Holster wear, scratches and whatnot don't bother me. I would hate to do that to a 1911, but again that is just me.

I could write you a book. I ended my lengthy loss prevention career at Walmart. My time in the feild was long but my Walmart stint was only about 6 months but that's another story. It was unbelievable the things that I saw while working there. It is common to see a police car sitting in the firelane at Walmart. That is usually just an officer responding to a shoplifting call, no big deal there. Any LP guy or girl worth their salt can catch at least one shoplifter each day they work. I got to know several of the local officers and would alert them when I saw someone in the store that I knew had a warrant on them. Also because most all Walmarts have pharmacies they become a target for all sorts of illegal activity such as prescription fraud and illict psedoepedrine purchases, which the local drug task force would run stings on from time to time. Add in to that the store that I worked in was in a methamphtamine rich area so methheads would buy or steal meth making products on a regular basis. Then there were the drug deals that would happen every few minutes in the parking lot. Sometime when you have a half an hour to kill park at the back of the parking lot and watch for two cars to pull up, someone gets out of one in to another and back in their own in the matter of a minute or so. We also had stolen cars abandond in the parking lot. Criminals, as dumb as they are still shop at or steal at Walmart, even if they have warrants on them.

I just don't get it. I think a big part of the responsibility of carrying is being aware of your firearm(s) at all times and being aware of your surroundings at all times. That being said I've never tried to get on an airplane with a firearm but I did try to board with a pack of razor blades in my pocket once though. I had them for work and I swear I had cleaned out my pockets because I always do so before I travel. Well I missed the razor blades. I went through the detector 3 times before I found them in my pocket. Once I did I quickly threw them in the trashcan. The TSA agent looked at me kind of funny and asked "What was that?" I just smiled and amusingly said "Razor blades, can't them on a plane now can you?" She just looked at me funny and let me board. I'm sure that could have come out a lot differently had I not played my cards right. So, I can sympathize with someone concerned about an empty casing or whatnot being in their luggage. Heck, it would be easy to pick one of those up in my car.

Two packs of Ramen for me today, chicken flavor. I was hungry and lazy. The Ramen did the trick as always.

Where in Nashville for some car audio quality installation
10-Ring replied to Dad03's topic in General Chat
I had a good bit of work done at Cartronics in Rivergate but that was about 10 years ago. They did a really good job. -
I really like Townsend I live about 20 miles from there. Might check out Top of The World area just off of the Foothills Parkway. Usually quite a bit of property for sale up that way and it's a pretty cool area.

I used to subscribe to a number of motorcycle and gun mags and I'm down to one of each now that were given to me as gift subscriptions, The gun mag is Guns and Ammo. It is dissappointing at best and every month when I get an issue Im just glad I'm not paying for it. The reason I mentioned the motorcycle mag is I have the same problem with it as I do the gun mags. The content in these things are horrible. It is basically a showcase of new guns, new ammo, articles about reloading oddball rounds. Now and then they will run an article about a new gun I'm interested in and that's nice. But for the most part the whole magazine is just advertising. The articles always seem biased backing the item as the best thing since sliced bread. Oh and can we please get a single issue of G&A without an AR-15 article? I have nothing agaist ARs but I don't find it necessary to have an AR article in every single issue. :RANT OFF:

I found it odd I think it was in one of his Topix threads, he said he worked for the Sparta sheriffs department. Sparta doesn't have a sheriffs department, that would be the White County Sheriffs Department, then there is the Sparta Police Department. If he was employed by either it seems he would know the difference between the two. I would have to call BS on him working for either.

Utility trailer dealers in Middle Tennessee
10-Ring replied to TripleDigitRide's topic in General Chat
Another +1 for BJs. I bought my trailer from them almost 10 years ago. They were very easy to deal with and after 10 abusive years the trailer is still holding up great! -
I just sold one for $1600, guess I should have posted it there. Check out the WERA 13X forums, should be lots of them over there.

Just depends, for the most part I like to only shoot does because I prefer them for their meat. I might take a yearling depending on what the freezer looks like. I prefer to take something with a little bit more meat on its bones but try to stay away from a doe in a group that looks exceptionally big as she is probably a little bit older and tougher than the rest. In Tennessee it seems that an 80-100 pound doe eats pretty good and I'm sure a little bigger won't be bad either. I killed a 180 pound doe once and it wasn't hardly fit to eat. As far as bucks go it varies by the individual. I may shoot a scrubby looking buck if it has an ugly rack just to get it out of the gene pool. I usually let bucks walk, I have a nice one on the wall from long ago, and I don't really want to pay to mount another one (That's the price of a nice gun anymore.) Not to say if a buck came out on me and made me drop my jaw I wouldn't take it. It's up to you, if you see a nice 4 pointer that you would feel proud to take I see nothing wrong with taking it, though I prefer to let any nice young buck walk.

I've lived and worked in Oak Ridge and Cookeville. The meth and pill problem was absolutely ridiculous in Cookeville. Oak Ridge was bad for pills but not too bad for meth. Then I worked down the road in Clinton for a while and the meth there was a lot worse than it was in Cookeville but that was mostly from people coming in from Lake City, Briceville, LAFollote, and places like that. It's sad and frustrating to see.

So say the OP loads up the shotgun, brings it back to TN and doesn't do a transfer, who would ever be the wiser. Even if he did happen to get pulled over on the way home with it and it happened to come up, dad just says "That's my shotgun, brought it with me to do some shooting with my father."

I got a lot of stuff from the late 80's early 90's. Was the thing to collect back then, but evidently everyone was collecting cards and from what I understand cards from that era aren't worth much of anything.

Why .22 mag? Although I understand that it is a great round for certain purposes I never thought it to be a good plinking round because of the cost. Therefore I don't see why it would be desireable in an AR platform.

Great Interaction with Hamilton County SO Today
10-Ring replied to Cherokee Slim's topic in General Chat
I stopped at the scene of a motorcycle crash last summer to render aid. I happened to get the victims blood on my outer shirt and warned a police officer that I had a permit and was about to remove my outer shirt and my gun would be showing. He looked at me funny and made me go put my gun in my truck. I was a little offended but didn't make a big deal out of it, I wanted to tell him to go put his gun in his car but I'm not one to start trouble. As long as it stays in the holster I don't see why they want to disarm us?
