  1. What exactly is meant by "We broke the NRA?"  Nothing good, or legitimate comes to mind there.
  2.     Agreed, assuming that someone is a pervert just because they are a homosexual is no different than assuming that everyone that owns a 30 round magazine is a mass murderer.  Homosexuals are no more or less perverted than straight people are.  I see a lot of double standards here, it seems like it is fine to attack gays without knowing much about them but if some ignorant politician attacks our gun rights we get mad.
  3. As an Eagle scout I'm glad to see this move being made, but I still have mixed emotions for one reason; overnight trips.  Just as I would not send my scout aged son on an overnight trip with a girl, I would not feel comfortable sending my son on an overnight event with a gay boy.  Otherwise it is about tolerance.  Gay kids like any other kids in scouting will either be accepted or they won't.  I know from experience if a kid comes in and no one else wants him around he will not last long.  Gay people are not going away, to shield your children from them and teach them that gays are not worthy of doing the same things that straight people do will only lead to a future with  more hate.  I see no difference in keeping your children away from homosexuals because you don't like them than keeping your children away from minorities because you don't like them.
  4. I used to shoot a lot but injuries to both shoulders due to motorcycle accidents has pretty much stopped any archery activities.  I'm a short guy so I'm not sure about the longer draw length.  I would see nothing wrong with buying a used bow but take it to an archery shop and get it checked out and make sure that it is safe to shoot before you draw it.  The trick about buying a used bow is finding one that will fit you.  If it doesn't fit you right you will never be comfortable shooting it.  As far as hunting a little bit, once you are within bow range of a deer it will become an obsession, the words "a little bit" and "bow hunting" will no longer belong in the same sentence.  Bowhunting by far is the biggest rush of any hunting I've ever done.  I figure for every deer I've killed with a bow I would have killed at least 50 had I been hunting with a gun.  It's rewarding, yet very humbling.
  5. I wonder what criteria was used to decide this change.  It seems to me that it is possible that the powers that be are making it more difficult for the people to have a voice and change something.
  6. Though I don't like the idea of gouging people your father did not gouge anyone.  He took something that he had no use for and sold it, nothing wrong with that.  The price was commanded by the buyer, not the seller.  I too believe that .22LR will return to normal after the panic buying subsides and the manufacturers have time to catch back up.
  7. Interesting piece, please tell us more about it.
  8. No loss here, I haven't used PayPal because of their anti gun stance in about 8 years.
  9. Something seems fishy though I can't put my finger on it.  Something is just not right about a government official attempting to stop what is a legal and legitimate business practice.  You know that if he was sending letters to Ford Motor Co.s creditors (if they even have creditors) that junk wouldn't fly.
  10. So what's holding him up?  Does he need help packing his bags?  Money for a plane ticket?  I will help him GTFO of this country anyway I can.
  11. This idea is so lousy even the majority of the Huffington Post readers are talking about how silly it is.
  12. Man I hate those things, spill more gas than you get into the tank.  I could fill up without spilling a drop with the old cans but these things are a mess.  A friend of mine calls them Obama cans, though I don't know if he had anything to do with them or not but since they don't work it seems fitting.  I see the OP is in Knoxville, check out Salvage Building Materials in Clinton, they had a few cheap good metal cans last time I was in there.
  13. I'm glad you were able to learn so much about me as a person and my ideals from one thread on the internet.  If you actually knew me you would know that I would not bow down to anything NEW that I didn't want to.  The whole motive of this idea was that the gun grabbers could be appeased (although that will never happen) and not worry about what we own because it is "safely locked away."  I know the whole thing is unrealistic, just wanted to throw something out there to kick around and give us something to talk about, that goes a lot better if we can leave personal attacks out of the conversation, let's not forget that all of us here are like minded and pretty much have the same goals in mind.
  14. Points taken, just had an idea and thought that I would throw it out there.  I did forget for a minute that all of this legislation has nothing to do with guns, it's all about controlling the people.  I agree 100% that we should not budge and give anything up.
  15. I'm probably more against gun control than anyone I know.  I think we should be able to own whatever kinds of guns we want and whatever kinds of magazines we want.  Maybe I'm missing something here but as a compromise to current legislation how about a law that you can own any guns that are currently legal but you are also required to own a gun safe.  Yes, I realize that like any other gun law this one is unenforceable.  And, in reality, if any such measure was adopted it would be in addition to other absurd measures.  I'm just thinking in the case of Sandy Hook, Adam Lanza stole his mothers guns, had they been locked away at least those guns would have been inaccessible to him.  What about all of the stolen guns that get in the wrong hands, this would cut it down at least, maybe.  In reality I think I'm pissing in the wind here, common sense would never fly in the midst of all of the tomfoolery out there.   Note:  Before I had a safe I never appreciated the risks that I was taking by not having one.  I think there is a lot to be said to be able to know where your guns are at all times and that they are secure.  I had a safe before I had a kid but I can not imagine having guns in the house with a kid and without a safe.
  16. It says that this aired December 15, I've been looking for a piece of media admitting that the AR was in the car the whole time.  Where has this been hiding for the last month?
  17. And the nanny states will probably make some kind of exception for it stating that it is for the good of public safety or some other garbage.  I really do not understand what the great benefit of this is.  I would think that even in "gun free zones" such as government buildings and airports a traditional metal detector would be more effective as it would pick up other "weapons" that this would not.  The only use I see of this device is to violate the rights of people that are not currently causing any problems.
  18. I just got a notice from Amazon via email informing me of how much money I had spent with them in 2012 so that I could pay taxes on it.  I like using Amazon because it is convenient and often cheaper than going to the store anyway so I certainly don't mind paying taxes on the items that I purchased.    I am a little confused though.  I understand by law that if a retailer has a brick and mortar store in your state then you have to pay taxes on mail order purchases.  How does this apply to Amazon purchases?  I am aware that they have fulfillment centers in TN but it isn't like you can walk into one and purchase items.
  19. Could this possibly be a 4th Amendment violation?
  20. That's awesome that all of the vendors came together to essentially ruin this show.  Surprised the show promoters have not changed their minds yet.
  21. Got the same...
  22. I've personally boycotted the term for years.  Well said Sir.
  23. I've seen several times reading this legislation, the term "bullet buttons."  I've never heard this term before.  After doing a little research it sounds as if a bullet button something that is used in commie states like Kalifornia?  If I understand correctly they can not use a conventional mag release, instead you have to have a special tool to release and magazine.  Under the proposed legislation bullet buttons would be illegal and magazine would be fixed completely.  Am I understanding this correctly?
  24. Went by East Town Walmart today, they had a few random boxes, maybe a half dozen total.  None in popular calibers.
  25. Here is an article   http://www.kltv.com/story/20649805/reported-shooting-at-lone-star-college-north-campus
