I see a lot of people here are pocket carrying.  How much are you guys practicing your draw from pocket carry?  I used to pocket carry my 642 for years.  One day last summer at work I had a bear encounter and had to draw quickly, it took me forever to get it out.  I am in a unique work situation in that it is okay for me to OC at work so I do now.  That was the last day I pocket carried and that was the last day I carried a .38.  The .38 is great for 2 legged critters but in bear and hog country I carry something a little bigger and easier to get to.

I would wear something that maybe just had the wording on it, or maybe a different picture.  I'm with you guys the graphic just gives off that feeling of your typical wanna be gangster white suburban kid.

I bought myself a shirt before the big rally in Nashville a couple of months back.  Front and back has a picture of an AR-15 and the words "Come and take it" on the front and back,the back in a pretty large print.  I've worn the shirt several times but no one has commented on it, admittedly I don't get out into public all that often and have a habit of wearing a light jacket a lot to help with concealment.  A couple of days ago happened to be wearing the shirt when I went to run some errands.  I had to go by the court house which is a no civilians with guns zone and I wanted to drive the convertible, I will not leave my gun unattended in that car because the locks don't work so I just left the gun at home.  As I ran my errands I had two people approach me at different stores and compliment my shirt.  The cool thing was that I no one said anything negative about it.  I know that you will get away with that kind of thing better down here in rural Blount County than you will a lot of other places but I was glad to get a positive reaction. 

Several years ago I took a young man under my wing that wanted to learn how to deer hunt.  One weekend we went and stayed at my grandmothers house to hunt.  Tradition is there to get up kill your deer bring in the tenderloins and grandma fries them up and makes biscuits and gravy.  Yeah, it is pretty awesome!  So we get the deer and are finally around to breakfast when I realize this boy doesn't know how to eat biscuits and gravy.  He cut a biscuit in half and used a fork to spoon a little on the biscuit and then put the biscuit back together like a gravy sandwich.  After watching him for a while I finally showed him how to properly eat gravy and biscuits since it was a learning weekend and all.

I was in the lawncare business about 10 years ago.  The only remaining pieces of equipment that I still have are my trailer and my Shindawa trimmer.  That thing has been great.  They are about $400, or were 10 years ago but never seem to wear out.  I used Stihl before I started using Shindawa and would go through a Stihl every season.

I enjoy Facebook and use it nearly daily, it has really simplified keeping up with friends and family.  Hope this is not a permanent policy change, I've really been surprised that something like this hasn't happened already.  Of course you can't have a discussion here or anywhere else about Facebook without a few people chiming in about how they don't like Facebook, if you don't like it don't use it, no one is holding a gun to your head telling you to use it, so why spout off like you are in some way superior to the people who get satisfaction out of using it?

It was Capitol, then Carl Black, Carl Black went belly up, now it's CB Collision.  From what I understand CB has no affiliation with Carl Black, just a coincidence.

I bet you could take that rig out in public and hardly anyone would notice it.  Sure that took a lot of fiddlin' to get it to work the way that you wanted it to, looks like a clean job!

Initially I was in for one but since Pineapple Doucher made an ass of himself and is unworthy of a TGO lower I will commit to another as well in order to keep the costs low for my TGO brethren.  Besides I have this evil plan where I will build my wife her own, thinking a 9mm.  And then I will build one for myself, thinking 300BLK.  As long as I build hers first I don't think she can object to mine, I'm new to the married game, am I doing it right?   On another note I would like to thank everyone who is putting this buy together.  I wish more people would realize that this is a terrific deal and to quit worrying about serial numbers, .308 compatible lowers, matching uppers and the like, this offer is what it is take it or leave it.  As a facilitator or previous group buys I know that it is much simpler to offer one item than to try to cater to everyone's needs/ wants.  Not trying to be a jerk but for those complaining just think about how much extra work yours and everyone else's tiny requests would be to fulfill.    Oh yeah the TGO branded suppressor comes thrown in free with this right?

Can't remember the name of them but they are made out of old firehoses and are quite durable.  My feist doesn't tear them up but he seems to tear up most everything else.  Don't know how durable it would be with a dog of your caliber.

The safe in question is a Canon, not sure if all safes area manufactured this way but if you have a Canon you may want to check up on this.  I had the safe mounted in a bedroom on a wood floor with a basement underneath.  It was like this for about a year with no problems.  I had to move temporarily, when I got to the new place the safe resided on a linoleum floor over a slab foundation.  Fortunately I only lived there for about 4 months, otherwise my safe would have been destroyed over time.  When I got ready to move the safe there was a large puddle of a dark nasty substance under it, upon closer inspection I found that it was rust, lots of rust.  Once I got the safe to the new house I took a wire brush to it and got all of the rust off, I then hit it with a good shot of automotive primer.  I will be putting a moisture barrier under it and a piece of plywood as well, I want to take these precautions because it is going onto a slab foundation again.  For some unknown reason the bottom of the safe is bare metal, no idea why they did not put paint on it.

The article states that he is prohibited from owning handguns.  Aren't felons prohibited from owning any firearms?  Are they just using the term handguns because they are stupid, ignorant, or trying to be sensational?

Last time I checked ammo sales were quite high, as in you couldn't find any of it on the shelf. 

Although it is an institution and it's been a few years since I've hit the bars in Nashville I always seemed to enjoy the neighboring bars more than Tootsies it self.  Legends Corner, Second Fiddle, The Stage, etc.  All I'm saying is check out the surrounding bars as well!

Man I can't decide what to do.  I think I might need to get a 2nd lower to build my wife one as well.  I will probably go .22LR on hers.  I like to march to the beat of a different drum myself.  I would like to know more about the 300BLK, it sounds appealing to me.  I like the idea of the .458 but it is probably a little excessive for what I want to do and I've heard that the recoil is rather obnoxious, not usually something I'm very concerned about but that is a heavy load for such a light weight rifle.  I've even toyed with the idea of doing 9mm, .40, or .45 just because I have the stuff to reload for those calibers.  However pistol calibers would likely render the rifle to the safe for deer season, although I have plenty of dedicated deer guns I would get a certain amount of satisfaction taking a deer with a rifle that I built.  Realistically I would like a caliber that is big enough to take deer sized game adequately (yes I know that it can be done with a Daisy Red Ryder if the shot placement is correct.)  I need a caliber that is economical to reload because I want to actually get to shoot it.  

Every gun that I own that I consider a carry gun gets used.  My Kimber is the exception if there is one at all.  I don't carry the Kimber often but I will carry it, I also shoot it as much as possible.  I'm not worried about it getting dinged up but I try to take care of it.  I have a 642 that I bought years ago and carried daily for a long time, a good deal of the finish has rubbed off of it.  My current EDC is a Glock 27 and has been for about 2 1/2 years now, though I do rotate it out for a Glock 23 quite a bit too, I'll have to say for guns that get carried and handled as much as those two do they have held up very well.  I do have a couple of vintage .22 pistols that I baby.  They are range toys, no need getting them banged up.

That is what I am doing as well, we probably have the same phone.  I used 21 minutes the last month I had my Verizon phone.  Went without one for a couple of years, which I don't really mind.  Wound up getting married and taking on a 3 year old step daughter that I keep a good bit, I thought that it was necessary to have a phone available when I was keeping her in case of an emergency or something.  I got the doubler option as well I basically walked out spending $10 on the phone and $20 for 60 minutes of airtime, when I activated it I had 140 minutes.  That was about 6 weeks ago and I still have about 85 before I need a refill, and I've actually used the phone more than usual.

No, Verizon uses a CDMA system, Straight Talk uses a GSM system.  AT&T phones will work on the Straight Talk system.  The easiest way to differentiate the two is that a GSM phone will use a SIM card while a CDMA phone will not.

Interesting read.  I hate to compromise at all but the man has some good points.  Still not saying that I agree with him 100%.  We must realize that we don't live in a perfect world and realistically some of our rights ARE going to be taken away from us, as has been the case for decades.  If we can get something in return for giving up something I guess that's a good thing.  Sure, I'd like to have my cake and eat it too, no background checks and having all of the goodies in this bill would be great but that just ain't gonna happen.

Yuck!  Looks like she has really let herself go.  Didn't she have her butt insured by Lloyd's of London for several million dollars?  I think they may be getting more than they bargained for.

My parents, brother and sis in law all use Pageplus and really like it.  It didn't suit my needs because I felt that their data package was lacking.  Currently we are using Ptel but we don't like it.  The phone drops calls constantly and doesn't get a signal for 20 seconds or so anytime you hang up or have a dropped call or receive a text.  The internet is also horrendously slow.  We had Straight Talk a few months ago and are going back to it after this month.  My biggest complaint with Straight Talk is the customer service.  I've spent 45+ minutes on the phone with them several times to get hardware issues resolved.  They now do have a feature that will call you back when they get to you so at least you do not have to sit there and wait.  I really need to find a good prepaid for around $55 or less a month, my wife has about had it with my experimenting and wants a contract phone again.  I could care less, I just got a TracFone a few months ago and the only reason I have it is in case there is an emergency when I am with my daughter.  I can't stand a phone myself.
