  1. We're studying putting one in right now as well.  It will be a DIY job for us.  Initially we were going for the 6 foot privacy fence but it would really give us no privacy due to the lay of the land.  We are going to do a wood rail fence with welded wire instead.  I will tell you to stay away from the prefabed panel at Lowe's and HD.  They are cheaply made with brads instead of nail or screws, which you should use.  They also have no spacing between the panels so they are very susceptible to wind damage.
  2. Well miss you around here, enjoy your summer.
  3. The Dragon is way overrated.  Fun road but there are usually so many cruisers poking around, semis coming at you, and cops awaiting that the fun is not there.  I used to live 15 minutes from the Overlook, I'm about 25 now.  I'll still ride it but only when I know there will be no tourists.  I used to live close to 116, never cared for it, between the coal dust on the road, coal trucks,  gravel and iffy pavement I just didn't see the appeal.  I did used to ride the stretch from Brushy Mountain to the county line a lot.  I know plenty of other really good roads but the only way I share that information is in person, and no GPS, or cameras are allowed to come on the trip.
  4. I work in the tourism industry, we have had rain every single weekend this season with the exception of one weekend in March.  It's affecting my paychecks, that rain, rain, can go away!
  5. I haven't made too many regrettable auto sales.  I had a 1991 F-150 4x4, straight 6, 4 speed, bought in 2001 with 80,000 miles on it and it was cherry.  I loved that truck but flipped it and totaled it.  Out of the literally dozens of vehicles I've owned I miss it the most.  I've had a lot of bikes over the years as well, all most all had their own qualities and did something in particular that I liked, but I only miss one.  It was a 1995 Honda VFR750.  I redid all of the body work on it and it was absolutely sharp.  Only reason I sold it was that I moved to the mountains and 9 months later it had not left my garage, I had a 2009 CBR600RR and a DRZ400SM at the time as well, so the VFR felt like a fat pig in the twisties.  Still the bike was sharp and had an awesome exhaust note, it just wasn't practical to keep.  I "replaced" it last summer with a 1991 ST1100, which I'm actually liking a lot more than the VFR.  I still have the DRZ as well.  It's kind of funny to own those two bikes as they are at opposite ends of the riding spectrum, but it allows me to go shred it on the mountain on one bike and hit the road in comfort on another.  I always thought the more bikes the better, but I sold my GSXR1000 this winter because it wasn't getting ridden, I'm happy with the two street bikes I have, it's all that I feel I need right now.
  6. Yes it was, I'm planning on heading out on my ST on Sunday if I can get a kitchen pass.
  7. I like to be heavily armed while I'm awaiting the tow truck.  You never know what will pop out of the woods around here.
  8.       Well fellas I was planning to ride my motorcycle.  Wouldn't that be a sight!   What ever happened with this?  A co-worker told me yesterday that they had buried the body in the US in an undisclosed location.  Anyone heard?
  9. I try not to be prejudiced and give everyone a fair chance.  Behavior like this really negates my efforts.
  10. I hate to post this just because it is from the ACLU but it is accurate. I think you could have pressed the issue if you wanted. Probably saved yourself a lot of time by complying.
  11. I just give out my old cell phone number.  I have a cell phone but I only possess it for emergencies.  It rarely even leaves the car.  I'll give people I really don't care for that number because the likelyhood of me actually hearing the phone ring is pretty slim.

    no loaded guns?

Yup, suppose this is to keep idiots from coming in and trying out holsters and stuff with loaded guns.  I can say that anytime I've been holster shopping I unloaded the gun before I entered the store voluntarily.  I also usually ask the salesclerk if I can try the holster out with my unloaded gun.  It only takes one careless person to cause stupid signs to be posted.
  14. If you buy the vehicle new or with very low miles I think that your best bet is to change the fluid as recommended, once it goes over the recommended interval I believe the best bet is to leave it alone.  I've had two junk yard transmissions go out on me within 6 months.  I put fresh fluid in each before installing them.  That's why I will not do junk yard transmissions anymore.   Engines, and differentials, and manual transmissions?  Change it and change it often!
  15. I despise dealerships and will not set foot in one if I can keep from it.  I've always done all of my own work.  Once I was rebuilding an engine and had to go to the Ford dealership for a dipstick tube I think it was.  (crushed mine because I failed to remove it before removing the engine.)  As I pull up in my beat up old truck that had to be started with a screw driver I'm immediately bombarded by sales people trying to sell me a new vehicle.  I just looked at them and said "New truck?  Three more payments and this baby is all mine!"  Seriously most car salesmen rank somewhere on my hierarchy of humanity somewhere between personal injury lawyers and child molesters.  Seems that a lot of the good ones are ex cons, it's one of the few jobs that they can get, plus if they are willing to lie and screw people over they can make a lot of money, so many already have what it takes to do well in the profession.
  16. Wow this time the liberals put one of there reporters right in the middle of the shooting.
  17. If they bury him here I shall make a pilgrimage to piss on his grave.

    Mosin Nagant

I have lent guns in the past.  Most of the time I have done it involved loaning deer rifles to friends that owned land because they wanted to get into deer hunting and had land but no gun.  I never had anything bad happen but when I got into Mosins my 91/30 became my permanent loaner.  It will get the job done and the beggars can't be choosers.  I have never loaned a gun to anyone that I did not trust but I figure with the Mosin of something happens I'm out $100 as opposed to $500-$1000 for one of my other rifles.
  19. The question is just too open ended for one definitive answer. A lot just depends on the specific situation.  Unless the LEOs on the scene realize 100% that I'm a good guy I'm not going to put my hands anywhere near my gun.  I've had several encounters with LEOs while OCing, these encounters have never been because I was OCing, and I've never gotten any negative reactions from LEOs for doing so.  I will never put my hand near my gun in the presence of an LEO unless they know what I am doing.
  20. This is true.  My company sponsors a couple of AMA riders.  One of them was going to come out and ride for some kind of charity event but had to get his motorcycle endorsement first.  Thought that it was ironic that a guy who makes his living racing and runs a speed school wasn't even licensed on the street.  Can't blame him though I get about zero enjoyment riding on the street while obeying all laws, I'm sure riding on the street for someone like that is probably about as exciting as my walk down the sidewalk to my car every morning.
  21. What about a high capacity magazine?  Not it by the way!
  22.   This right here!  I would be dead many times over if I had not found the track to get the stupid out of me.  These days I'm not driving stupid fast on public roads.  I may hit around 100 on a good day on the way into work but that's a 25 mile drive and at 4 am through a whole lot of nothing, I can usually make the entire trip without seeing another vehicle.  I'm no poke in traffic but I do try to avoid driving like an asshat.
  23. Man this country is in deep doo doo.  We have "leaders" trying to ban something because it is somewhat similar to something else that was used in a terrorist attack.  (In case you have been living under a rock the terrorists in Boston used "gun powder" that was extracted from common consumer grade fireworks.)  In the meantime I have heard of zero legislation concerning fireworks.  Although I would oppose any legislation involving fireworks that would at least make more sense than attempting to restrict something that was not used at all in the manufacture of these bombs.
