  1. Well all my parts are in....now the long wait for the lower...spikes warned me it could be up to six weeks :-(
  2. LOL. On a sidenote I just posted up my "new" spikes complete bcg for sale in the gear classifieds section if anyone needs one to finish their upper.
  3. Lol I guess a story goes with that
  4. Sounds good when I get all my parts in I will be calling you....nothing like meeting someone for the first time and asking for a favor LOL. I like that gasbuster mod I think I'm gonna go ahead and do that today.
  5. Well it arrived already lol. I guess if I ever wanted to put a real rail on it I could go with the Daniel Defense Omega without modification, but those aren't cheap...thats for sure! I will contact you when I get all the parts together Dolomite...I plan on keeping the trigger (spikes tactical nickel boron) as it is, but its been awhile since I put the last one together and might need some help with the basics if nothing else since your in Knoxville too. I had looked at PRI gasbuster, but I like how the BCM Gunfighter takes stress off the roll pin. I will probably have to do that and the BAD lever upgrade in a week or two...i like being able to use the trigger finger to manipulate the bolt catch since im a righty. Jeff...that patch is awesome LOL.
  6. Part of my problem might have been it was on a Keltec RFB (bullpup 308)....but I also shot my SXAR 308 (no brake or muzzle attachment) afterwards and it was noticeably quieter and had less concussion....of course I hadn't tried other brakes...except for what I have watched on youtube lol. Thanks for the page link...im gonna study up on it tonite.
  7. I need to try one on a 5.56 the one I tried was on a 308 and it was deafening....gunrunner any suggestions on where I can find some basic info on the proper sling setup?
  8. Remington Ultimate Home Defense .45ACP 230gr BJHP - Natchez Shooters Supplies Appears to be re-labeled golden sabers...just not bonded probably....should work just fine...looks like they give you an extra 5 rounds now. I have been using the Winchester PDX1 and have been quite happy with that line....not the most powerful or destructive 45 available but they are very accurate and well put together. You need to at least run a box or so through your gun to make sure it will function with them though.....also for actual home defense I would probably recommend not using 9yr old ammo cause while it should still be good....isnt your family worth the extra $20 to be absolutely sure?
  9. this should come as no surprise as fuel costs and metals have been steadily going up....everything else....ammo-groceries will too.
  10. Yeah I actually have a Vtac 2pt I havent even opened yet. thats a good idea on the qd on the front rail. I had looked at the MATech's before...some ppl complained about them getting loose...what are your thoughts on that? R1100....a Spikes launcher can't be stabilized by the MOE handguard ;-D Thanks for the ideas/suggestions guys.
  11. I tried a battle-comp before and didn't like it at all...but ymmv
  12. Yeah its perma pinned so nfa ok...I will let you know about the failzero...it looked like a bunch of marketing hype when it first came out, but most reports are very favorable.....jason I believe the mod 4 medium was the one I was leaning toward. If I actually enjoy shooting this one I will spend the extra coin for the aimpoint for sure(when/if the Sig dot fails).
  13. Alright so for some odd reason I decided I needed to build another AR(my first one I traded without ever shooting it), but I wanted it to be lightweight since my "go-to" 5.56 is an MSAR with 20" barrel...and I wanted it to be DI since my MSAR is a piston gun. Heres what I got so far...what other recommendations do you guys have...and overkill is ok...im not gonna be shouting "WOLVERINES", but its always fun to pretend right? So far I bought (and is in the mail or backordered): Spikes Tactical Zombie Lower (on backorder) Spikes Tactical 14.5" Lightweight Upper with Vortex flash hider (MOE handguard) Spikes Tactical "failzero" Trigger/hammer Spikes Tactical "failzero-nickel/boron" BCG Magpul MBUS Magpul MOE Lower kit with MOE stock and handgrip from PSA groupbuy Knights Armament foregrip (using MOE attachment rail...found this layin around) D&H Teflon mags with magpul followers (went with this over Pmag cause they're lighter) Sig Dot (aimpoint knockoff) UTG Medium riser(larue knockoff) "Custom" gasbuster modified Spikes Charging Handle (thanks Dolomite for the link) I plan on using just the flip up sights at first and if need to... the el cheapo SIG dot. The spikes upper comes with a charging handle and it also has their excellent M16 BCG (which i will be selling(SOLD) to offset the nickel/boron one)....any other recommendations...anything I missed? Im trying to keep this lightweight so no flashlights, bipods, or other mall ninja equipment...i think its pretty tacti-fool already...but i do want it to be extremely durable. Thanks!
  14. hes got some really cool stuff, but you have to look at the close-ups...some of the deals are only deals if you do firearms re-coating lol.
  15. I know where a nice P229 in 357 sig is at for a bargain price *wink* *wink* http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/firearms-classifieds/54649-sig-p229r-357sig-dak-trigger-nights.html#post701487
  16. The 357 is a mean round...think 9mm +p+ and then some lol....a lot of hydrostatic shock....quite a few agencies are going back to it over the 40 surprisingly the wildlife officers here in Tn are too.
  17. Pm me when you invariably get tired of it ;-)
  18. Does she have a sister..... ;-)
  19. That's pretty sweet
  20. Star made some really great guns. That's a nice one. I have a firestar compact 45 that is heavy for its size but a great shooter. I used to have one like yours in chrome but foolishly sold it :-(
  21. I have 4 220's all da/sa my newest a dark elite has the srt and its really awesome for rapid fire it also has the hogue aluminum grips which are amazing. between the srt and e2 I would go srt as I like the standard grip frame...I like the srt so well I might send off the p245 I edc to get it installed.
  22. Cdnn has a pretty good price on the rec7 upper. you might also want to hit up shelley at the outpost for the tgo discount
